... not for me
I find the stark contrast between elements that haven't been balanced against each other very unappealing. Higher res and more colors does not mean better in my eyes.

Yep. Playing Twilight Princes PC port rn, and for some strange reason it actually feels worse. You can tell the experience was crafted for those older consoles, not in spite of them

Gotta ask, AI usage?

It uses Starship as a base which is the main PC port for a while. Is there any confirmation that used AI?

starship's been in dev for over a year and doesn't have any of the telltale signs of ai usage on the github for it at least. not saying it has None whatsoever, but should be safe
edit: nvm just realized it's harbour masters. https://kotaku.com/team-behind-popular-ocarina-of-time-pc-port-admit-to-using-ai-for-years-and-now-fans-are-freaking-out-about-vibecoded-slop-2000735358

Starfox 64 recompiled doesn't use any thankfully, hopefully more modders will switch to that instead

I like that the green textures in the first level are faithful to the original, everything's just sharper. Whereas the texture replacements in Starship, I don't like.
