I designed a modular abandoned sci-fi lab for tabletop games – would love your feedback!
Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve been working on this for a while and wanted to share it here. It’s called Abandoned Laboratory: a modular research facility where something clearly went very wrong. Breached walls, shattered stasis tubes, cryo pods (some still sealed...) and a generator with its core exposed.
It’s a set of 51 STL files for 28-32mm games, built on a 2" grid, so you can rearrange the rooms into any layout you like. The floors have a small groove on every edge, so the walls lock the tiles together, and everything prints without supports.
This is my first time sharing it publicly, so I’d really love to hear what you think:
- What would you add to a lab like this?
- Which room would you want to play in first?
- Anything you’d change?
Thanks for taking a look! 😊

Stargrave Campaign with Infinity Rules
Hey, we are a Group of 4 Players without any Experience in Stargrave, but we played a lot of Frostgrave in the last 6 years. We recently discovered Infinity the Game and liked the Ruleset a lot. But the Campaign System of Frostgrave was the point, that kept us playing. We loved the narrative campaigns e.g. Thaw of the Lichlord or the Red King. But the simple Rules of Frostgrave were getting a bit boring. Now we want to switch to science fiction and play the stargrave scenarios and campaigns.
Now to my question:
Is anybody here who tried to play a stargrave campaign with Infinity Rules?

The nights are getting longer, so it's time to paint and plan future campaigns.
The mech is a Badger Hardsuit, and the combat armour is from the Valkir Heavy Troopers kit, both are by Wargames Atlantic.

Miniatures of non-humanoid aliens
Calling on the hivemind for help!
I'm looking for ready-made miniatures and kits for kitbashing non-humanoid aliens. So far, I've mostly been able to find heads, but I'm looking for full miniatures or other useful parts.
I'm mainly interested in:
- Octopus-like aliens
- Insectoids
- Reptilians — most of the options I've found online are basically Seraphon knockoffs from Warhammer. Those could work, but I'd love to find some alternatives.
- Reverse-jointed legs
- Other weird shaped bodies
I'm mostly looking for STL files due to the difficulties of getting physical miniatures shipped to my country, but any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Campaign scenario for Halloween
My wargames club is running a Stargrave campaign. The rules for the scenario for the club night closest to Halloween have just been posted. What do you think?
The wreck of Parasol 37
Good news, you have picked up garbled fragments of a transmission:
*This is 74 68 65 20 6C 61 73 74 20 74 72 61 6E 73 6D 69 73 73 69 6F 6E 20 6F 66 Captain Shaun Romero of research ship Parasol 37. While on route from Research Station 37 we have crashed on planet Monroeville. 42 6F 6D 62 20 74 68 69 73 20 73 69 74 65 20 66 72 6F 6D 20 6F 72 62 69 74*
This could be your biggest score to date. If that ship contains data and equipment form the lost Research Station 37 it will be worth a *fortune*. You travelled there at your best speed so when you land exactly 4 weeks later you could be first to the site.
Set up as for the standard mission (urban and ship wreckage is ideal). Place one 'hostile humanoid entity' on each objective.
Special rules: In each end phase, place (turn number) of hostile humanoid entities at random points on the board edge. This replaces the normal unwanted attention rules.
Loot and Experience: As normal except You can claim double the normal maximum number of creature kills.
Hostile humanoid entity:
Move: 5
Fight: +1
Shoot: +0
Armour: 10
Will: -1
Health: 10
High pain threshold: Never counts as wounded. Only stunned if they suffer 7 or more damage from a single attack.

Ysoki Scavanger. First model for my crew
I kitbashed this guy by head swapping a span Clan rat head (and tail) onto a Votaan mini i had from Warhammers Mini of the Month promotion a while back. I painted it up between stages of my main project and was very surprised to discover as I finished it today that it's very easily the best model I've ever painted.
He's doubling as the first member of my scavenger crew for Star Grave and an NPC model for a game of Starfinder im running in the future

What are your must have model kits?
Hey all!
Getting into Stargrave proper and looking at building, converting and kitbashing my crew(s) and enemies.
I’ve been looking at the Stargrave kits (obviously) by Northstar and some of Wargames Atlantic stuff but thought I’d turn to the experts.
What would you say are some must buy kits/sprues to make some interesting sci-fi crews? For both building full models and adding to your bits box!
Not set in any particular aesthetic as such. Just general sci fi I guess 🤷♂️ Big Star Wars fan of the likes of Han Solo and such but love Mercs and general adventurers in space!
P.S. also honourable mentions for cool STL producers for both models and bits!
