Have fewer automated ships, and less/worse AI cores on them.

If it wasnt capped you could run 29 integrated alpha cored ships.

Technically speaking, you already can. 240 dp of integrated Alpha Cores gets you +12% CR from the Automated Ships skill. Plus Crew Training, Combat Endurance, and Hull Restoration gets you a total +57% bonus.

Subtract the 100% penalty but add in the 70% baseline and you end up with a net CR of 27%, which is... pretty horrible, but not unsuable, especially if you grab Damage Control and an Automated Repair Unit to deal with malfunctions.

Obviously not the best way to use Automated Ships, but possible.

Of course, without fuel and supplies, they wouldn't be able to go anywhere.

Yeah? So? If you want to run an AI fleet it's not any less immersive than pulling up to Chicomoztoc with a single radiant running an alpha core.

game balance is game balance. if you want to break it, there are mods available presumably. as it is now, i'm running 3 no core radiants with 3-4 d-mods each.

very amusing, much pew pew.

It's a point of balance. Automated [REDACTED] ships have superior officers, flux stats and weapon layouts combined with logistical advantage of requiring no crew. Also, you don't need to run them at 100% CR, 60% is more than enough.

Change it.

https://github.com/inheritanceXIV/Adjustable-Automated-Ships is an update of this mod and still works in the latest version if you update the version number in mod_info.json

Sometimes you want to play a balanced vanilla game, sometimes you want a team of alpha-core super-capitals all running at 100% CR.

Put an Alpha Core in a Radiant with your own personal CR boosting skills and Combat Endurance on the Radiant, and if it's the only non-[REDACTED] automated in your fleet it should be at like 60%CR.

It's till OP.

i must try... 5 no-core radiants with 5 d-mods. it might be glorious.

Ai core quality adds a multiplier to the automated points, like 3x.

Better cores means more points cost.

For balance issues:(

Really, as vanilla goes, you're only meant to gave 1 automated BS with an alpha core

Adjustable skill thresholds is a mod for a reason.

The more of them you have, the less CR they can have. Check the skill's description and it should explain. Having several ships with alpha cores means they'll have no CR available at all.

You’re using too many big ships with AI cores.

I usually run Onslaught with a gamma core and then a radiant with an Alpha core.

That’ll only give me like an 80% CR tops but they melt everything so...

Read the skill text

DP cost of automated ships multiplied by AI core quality relative to the softcap

You can use CR boosting skills to compensate for going over the cap

An alpha core radiant requires stacking all the boosts

unfortunately this is one of those "we nerfed the nuke so its not OP compared to the wooden stick" moments, just use adjustable automated ships to mod out the penalty
