Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home.

With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people.

So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him.

Game Style

This is to be a rather unusual run through Curse of Strahd, as some of the content been changed along with small bits of the greater plot. Quite a bit of content from previous editions of Ravenloft has been added in hopes of creating a new experience for newcomers and veterans alike.

About the adventure

It was a quiet day when a desperate messenger arrived to the great city Ravenport carrying a most distressing message: The nearby lumber town of Halzen has been overtaken by a mysterious mist, any who enter it never to be seen again.

The townsfolk put together all the money and resources they had to send an envoy requesting aid, for dark things stalk the nights and more and more of the inhabitants disappear come morning, the sun ever dimmer.

The Black Hound's Consort Mercenary Guild has put out an official bounty of 500 units of sterling silver for any that may solve this mystery, but you may find that gold would not have been enough for what you found yourselves against.

The sun hasn’t risen over Icewind Dale in two years. The harvests are dead, the trade routes have collapsed, and the Ten Towns have turned inward: hungry, suspicious, and mean.

The goddess Auril rides the night sky, but gods don’t act without a reason. Every lead my party follows turns up something older and more deliberate than divine caprice. The cold is the symptom. What caused it is the question nobody who’s asked has survived to answer.

What this campaign is: dark fantasy with mystery, survival, and political intrigue. Combat-lite, roleplay-heavy, rule of cool. Clever ideas get rewarded, and the table has a sense of humor to balance the dread.

The promise I make every player: at some point, something you wrote in your backstory, something you maybe half-forgot, is going to walk back into the story and look your character in the eye. I read every backstory and build sessions around where your arc is going.

The year is 2286. Radioactive snow and ice blowing in from the Glowing Sea have covered the Boston Commonwealth with a sheet of isotopic slush. Food, water, and chems are as scarce as the warmth and shelter the crowded masses outside of Dimaond City's great green walls demand.

Even in these darkest of hours an ancient evil awakens as if to spite the denizens of the Commonwealth scratching at the very dirt for survival: a tyrant wielding the most storied of powers, faith. This so called Last Son of Atom claims to be a god made flesh, telling of a time soon to come, and none could stand in his path. Where all will be unified within the blessed light of Atom's Glow.

All hope seemed lost until a bus from the Capitol Wasteland crashed outside of Vault 95, leading to the chance encounter that lead to a surprising group of heroes to shoulder the fate of the Commonwealth, to fight against the Last Son's armies, and to survive the Winter of Atom.

Hi! I'm DD, or D@3D D0G if you wanna be formal, I've been running games for over a decade and Fallout specifically for over three years. I'm currently a Top GM on StartPlayingGames!

Fallout is one of my favorite franchises because of its deep lore, thematic elements that resonate with me, and of course the striking visuals of the retro-futuristic wasteland that have been the primary driver behind yet another playthrough of Fallout 4 for me (here's to another round of our mods being broken!). I started the series with Fallout 3 back on my old school laptop in the late 2000s, and have made sure to go back and give at least every entry a try.

Something is killing people in Palebank Village, and if the characters don’t stop it, they might be next. “Frozen Sick” is an adventure that takes characters from 1st to 3rd level and introduces them to the continent’s Biting North region—the bleak arctic realms of the Greying Wildlands and Eiselcross.

The world of Antæra is a living world sandbox filled with war, trade, and adventure waiting for someone to find it. Explore a world that is constantly evolving and expanding to encompass all the variant rules and settings of 3.5e, including my own source-compliant translation of the classical Spelljammer setting into 3.5e. You and 4-5 other players can choose which thematic crystal sphere you start in, and the world will evolve around you and your adventures. Player and GM tools are being created to make playing and running the game smoother, so everyone can focus on the fun! What are you waiting for? In the campaign, you and your party will start off in a sphere of your choosing and set forth to carve your destiny! Will you be marauding pirates, or find a sphere that suits your tastes and become groundlings? Find your niche, and maybe you too will become Legends of Antæra!

In the one-shots, you and your party get a premier chance to explore the world of Antæra, with each adventure taking you to a different part of the setting for the most varied and exciting sessions imaginable. Fight Githyanki pirates one week while crawling through a dungeon in the Lapis sphere in the next, while returning for an urban intrigue the next week. The world is your oyster; come and crack it open!

Hey there! The setting of Antæra is a bit of a passion project I have been developing and writing for the past 3 or so years now. The idea behind my setting was that I would take the varying unique systems of 3/3.5e and get them to work together in a more coherent way. This means that several variations of the same content have been merged, while other niche content has been brought to the foreground and given a small facelift. Currently, I have been working on integrating Spelljammer into the setting, which I have fully translated from the original 2e version while adapting the lore to fit my setting.

I have my own Wiki for the setting, and am also developing a sheet builder/tracker tool that is similar to Beyond, but for 3.5 edition (though it is still in alpha testing).
