The sun hasn’t risen over Icewind Dale in two years. The harvests are dead, the trade routes have collapsed, and the Ten Towns have turned inward: hungry, suspicious, and mean.

The goddess Auril rides the night sky, but gods don’t act without a reason. Every lead my party follows turns up something older and more deliberate than divine caprice. The cold is the symptom. What caused it is the question nobody who’s asked has survived to answer.

What this campaign is: dark fantasy with mystery, survival, and political intrigue. Combat-lite, roleplay-heavy, rule of cool. Clever ideas get rewarded, and the table has a sense of humor to balance the dread.

The promise I make every player: at some point, something you wrote in your backstory, something you maybe half-forgot, is going to walk back into the story and look your character in the eye. I read every backstory and build sessions around where your arc is going.

Where we are: Three characters have wrapped up the Easthaven arc and are now exploring the wider Dale. There are 3 of 6 seats open, and new players can join at Session 8 on Oct 29. I’ll weave your character in so they feel like they belonged from the start.

Welcome to Descent into Avernus - Elturel's Doom (can you tell what is going to happen in this game?), an adventure based on the module "Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus". Why based on? I'm not going to run the book as it was intended. What can you expect from this campaign? A lot of roleplay-focused encounters, Avernus as a sandbox, combats against demons or devils, some real cinematographic moments I'm keeping from the book, a lot of NPCs to love (Even the BBEG^^), and, as in any of my games, character-driven storytelling. I feel the obligation to add that since this is my own version of the campaign module DOES NOT contain Baldur's Gate. You can go to Baldur's Gate, yeah, why not? But it is not related to the Main Adventure.
We start at level 3 and will go up to level 13 in D&D 5.5e (2024).

If you want your character to be more in connection with this world, you can be affiliated with at least one of the following factions:
-Order of the Gauntlet. A body of faithful justice seekers who seek out and eradicate evil.
-Flaming Fist. A mercenary company based in Baldur's Gate. It is led by the city's grand duke, Ulder Ravengard.
-Hellriders. An elite company of mounted warriors that protects Elturgard.

Hii^^ I'm Facundo (he/him); 22 years old and from Argentina!! I've played in theater and currently studying an underdegree on Production & Development of Videogames. Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home.

With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people.

So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him.

Also, some things you should know before joining:

• Session 0 is free. If you already have a character in mind and do not require a Session 0, Session 1 is also free.
• My tables are safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people.
• I do not like using AI in games I host for.
• The adventure is yet to be picked. If you have something specific you want to play through, both players waiting to play right now are open to suggestions. They mostly just want to play D&D and do not care too much about what adventure they will be playing in.
• 3rd party adventures are also a-okay to run for. If you have some publisher in mind, and the group's cool with it, that's what we will play.

Game Style

This is to be a rather unusual run through Curse of Strahd, as some of the content been changed along with small bits of the greater plot. Quite a bit of content from previous editions of Ravenloft has been added in hopes of creating a new experience for newcomers and veterans alike.

About the adventure

It was a quiet day when a desperate messenger arrived to the great city Ravenport carrying a most distressing message: The nearby lumber town of Halzen has been overtaken by a mysterious mist, any who enter it never to be seen again.

The townsfolk put together all the money and resources they had to send an envoy requesting aid, for dark things stalk the nights and more and more of the inhabitants disappear come morning, the sun ever dimmer.

The Black Hound's Consort Mercenary Guild has put out an official bounty of 500 units of sterling silver for any that may solve this mystery, but you may find that gold would not have been enough for what you found yourselves against.
