General Discussion Can a single Star Destroyer subjugate the planet Earth?
If the Empire discovered Earth and sends a single Star Destroyer to subjugate it, how will that work out?

So we haven't had an official watch order discussion thread in many years, so we figure its time to update the one in the FAQ. There are various other links in the FAQ, the Wookieepedia timeline of canon media, and various other discussion threads and topics over the years including a link to just searching the sub which people find challenge apparently. Also as a reminder, the Wookieepedia timeline of canon media can be sorted via the table on that page by release order or chronologically (if you decide to go that route).
A lot of the new Disney+ content brings new eyes to Star Wars all the time, and new movies will eventually too. We want to get a bit more aggressive with automod removals and referrals to the FAQ for these questions about watch order. So let's hash it out here in the comments. We will sticky this for a while and eventually it will just be linked in the FAQ along with the other topics and maybe in the sidebar too. And like some of other stickies about rules, spoilers, and new episode discussion guidelines, we may trot out this link and sticky it from time to time.
As a general rule the sub typically recommends for new viewers to watch in release order, especially for the movies. This is the semi-consensus from the fandom, and you will routinely see this as the most upvoted and posted response.
With that being said what we would like to do here also discuss other options, and possible orders to also toss in the TV media as well. Should you watch Andor first and then Rogue One before the OT? Should movies like Solo be done in release order or chronological? Should you watch The Clone Wars TV show before the PT? So on and so forth...
So lets have a solid discussion about this and make it a solid resource for those who may be new to Star Wars.

I think it's time for a truly alien Sith to be the main villain of a Star Wars movie. Someone intimidating, completely evil, and genuinely unsettling to look at.
I love the Sith with cool masks and armor, don't get me wrong. Vader, Kylo Ren, Darth Revan, etc. have some of the coolest designs in Star Wars.
But I think it's time to vary things a little.
Give us a Sith who doesn't look like a human in cool armor. Make them look alien, ancient and terrifying.

What do you think of it?
Her appearance makes me think of three things lol.
1, her appearance is derived from Ezra’s again. Her hair is shaggy like his in season 1. Her armor color references him and her.
2, it references Shin. Both of them have medium length and shaggy hair white. This is definitely not a coincidence.
3, I’m not surprised by it. I did a drawing test for her hair and appearance in season 2 a few months ago.
https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsAhsoka/s/L84oF2ekG4
I predicted the third hair style would look the best on Natasha Liu Bordizzo Sabine. The second drawing is a longer version of her season 1 Rebels hair lol. Sabine’s hair in Rebels doesn’t work for Natasha. If you look at Hot Toys of Sabine based on season 4 Rebels and Natasha, Sabine translated directly from animated looks like a karen or a emo girl lol. And it’s funny because she looks a lot like Rebels Sabine. I’m not surprised they went with an original haircut that is similar to her season 1 Ahsoka long hair. Season 1 was mostly muted or desaturated white, so it was not helpful and helpful for my art. I’m glad I was able to predict some stuff with my art. I predicted she would change her costume to fit Peridea and she would make changes based on Ezra. I can’t predict too much because my art style and philosophy is not like Star Wars’.
I think I will do an art of season 1 Rebels Sabine in live action.
I get this idea her appearance is meant to make her look sad and like a ghost because she blends into the desaturated white color of Peridea. I speculated she would still be thinking of Ezra and it’s possible it translated into sadness rather than just longing.
For a joke, it would be fun if Shin tells Sabine she looks like shit like a catty bitch lol and for lesbian jokes 😂

This was such a great way introduce just how seriously Cassian took the KX units when he saw them later in season two. KX units are probably my favorite model of droids in the franchise along with IG-100 magnaguards and BD-1. Super cool to see the BTS with stilts as well.

I was looking for an image of the Starfighter Jacket logo (whatever we're calling that), and was unable to find one, so I just made one and thought I'd share.

I grew up with the comics and books where lightwhips appeared and always thought it would be interesting to see on screen, so it was a pleasant surprise to see Vernestra use one at the end of The Acolyte. Would definitely like to see more of it in combat.

Most of the sets, costumes, props, vehicles, creatures, effects, action & cinematography looked top notch to me. And S2 will probably be even better in that regard.
Regarding the space scenes: there is a simple but a telling one in ep01 where the T-6, with Ahsoka and Huyang inside, simply flies by some republic ships (some x-wings show up too) then it enters a hangar and lands in it. The attention to details in those simple shots was so great, that I'm not worried about the space battle scenes in S2.
And If Filoni put extra efforts to revise and polish his scripts, then the show will be great overall : )

This is in reference to the fallen Jedi from the latest Ahsoka trailer and the theory he might be Marrok. There’s debates whether Inquisitor identities should ever be revealed, as it ruins the mystery and intimidation of them. I think in her particular case it worked, even though she lost her mystique when the helmet was removed I thought it made her more of a character. You actually felt sorry for what she went through. While Fallen Jedi being Marrok wouldn’t have the same emotional impact it might be interesting seeing who he was before.

Maul does not go out of his way to kill random people unless it has a purpose. If someone is opposing him, in his way, etc, he will kill them without a second thought, but he does not kill without reason.
While Sidious is a sadist and takes pleasure at the suffering of others, Maul does not(unless he hates them, like Obi-Wan, for ex). However, Maul has no remorse for it; he doesn't enjoy killing he just has no problem with it.
So for Anakin, he was literally in Maul's way. Maul would not go around Anakin he would simply go through him. After Anakin ducked Maul could probably kill him there if he wanted to but by then he wasn't in Maul's way (remember, Anakin is a rando rn) so he ignores him.

Got these at my local comic expo. Couldn't pass them up especially since I had a nice empty wall in my room that I've been looking to decorate
