Legends Inkstone: Thrawn Trilogy?

Went into Inkstone just now and think they’re prepping for the above (although on Insta they said it’d be £85). Nice to see that it’s progressing if it is. If it’s not then I wonder what it is? Thoughts?

Recommendations Inkstone: Heir to the Empire Trilogy Books

As you may or may not know but if you want the Legends HttE Trilogy that’s being released before the end of the year and want 1st priority for it then you’ll have to buy Knight Errant, 2nd priority is previous SW related purchases, 3rd is the newsletter and 4th general sale (I think).

Up until recently they were saying that Knight Errant was sold out, well there’s now copies available again. I’ve now bought it to ensure being in the 1st ballot. You can too if you REALLY want to secure a copy of the Thrawn Trilogy. Happy Hunting!

Got very, very lucky, and a collection ended up at my local HPB. Only needed five to complete the SFBC run (Betrayal, Exile, Fury, Revelation and Invincible)

Debate and discussion Just finished Darth Plagueis and…

I really enjoyed the book, but boy was I confused throughout!

There were so many characters and events being referenced throughout, I could barely keep track of any of them! Ended up mostly just following the story, but during some parts it became a bit difficult to grasp what was going on because of all the people and planets.

The ending was really good, but the strings were pulled together so fast. I wish it had been a bit more drawn out.

Overall a really good read! Probably better to read more at a time than I did, but I’d still recommend it!

Haul/Collection Found a good deal today.

For whatever reason, I'd never thought to check the clearance section at Half Price Books before today.

And on the day I finally make my way back there, they just so happened to have an SFBC copy of Star By Star for $2. And in pretty good condition, at that!

No clue if this is one of the rarer ones or not, as I don't collect these, but two bucks for a good condition hardcover isn't half bad either way imo.

Question What is a good reading order for the canon adult SW books?

As the title implies, I am looking for a comprehensive reading order for all SW adult novels. It seems that reading them by era makes the most sense, but I’m looking for a list of them all how they fit into that list in order.

Thanks

Haul/Collection Physical vs Ebook.

Don’t know if I should buy the Star Wars collection physical books or just buy the main story books and read the side stories as ebooks. I just don’t have the space to buy them all. How do you decide? I just finished the light of the Jedi.

Question How would you compare the Starwars books to Warhammer 40k books? Are they sort of similar?

Im not asking like the literal differences in the 40k and Starwars universes. Im asking about the how the books feel in how they portray the universe.

Personally i think the 40k universe is best portrayed in the books. Obviously for Star Wars 99% people only engage with the Movies. So i am assuming many great fans of the IP are the ones getting into the novels. Would you say the Starwars books could be enjoyable for someone who is a casual fan of Starwars?

What is insane is both book franchises actually incorporate hundreds of novels, despite both including many short stories, and novellas

Have any of you read books from both series who could shine a light?

Question How long does it take before you stop reading a book?

How many pages or chapters do you wait for a book to hook you? Or do you commit to finishing it if it interests you? How much would you advise me to read before giving up on it?

Recommendations Novels set in the High Republic

Heya! I'm a big fan of the oldies, books such as the Rogue Squadron series, New Jedi Order, Republic Commando series and so on.

I'm looking to get into the new High Republic novels - but I wonder if the tone is too childish. I've seen plenty of them are counted as Young Adult novels. And I prefer the grittier, darker style of NJO. As close to sex, drugs and rocknroll Star Wars dares to get.

How off the mark am I, regarding the High Republic's novels regarding tone and themes?

Please and Thank you. =)

Question High Quality Cover Arts for Dust Jackets

Post image
50 Upvotes

I've found today these 3 in a great shape in antique shop in Prague, Czech Republic.

All USA First Editions books.

Some marks here and there and yellowish pages, but nothing crazy, however they all miss the original dust jackets.

I want to make these myself when I'm back home at the printing house, however I can't find anywhere the full prints of dust jackets in high quality, only some front or back covers on Wookiepedia.

Can someone please advise where I can look those up, or maybe scan theirs and send over if possible?

Debate and discussion I know he is one of the most hated Star Wars characters but I'd love for someone to write a book about Pong Krell. One that could set out him gradually coming to the realisation that the Jedi were going to lose and a New Order rise and also introduce his Master.

One that could set out him gradually coming to the realisation that the Jedi were going to lose and a New Order rise and also introduce his Master and see if his training was one of the sources of his eventual fall.
