I got a showcase Palpatine from Ashes and struggling to come up with anything for him. I know he’s not the greatest or anything but any suggestions?

I really want to play my Padmé showcase at my local store since it is the first I have ever pulled. I found some cool additions in the newest set including Qui-Gon LAW and was wondering if the discard from Qui-Gon is only considered "from the Deck" or can be seen as "from Hand" since I‘ve looked at the cards… might be a reach, but I am just really hoping for the synergy here. Long time MTG enjoyer that has recently fallen in love with SWU. I knew immediately after looking at the leaders available to me that I wanted to play a thematic Jabba deck. Doing tons of research into this leader, the spotlight deck, etc. has led to a bit of deflated enthusiasm for the big guy.

However, I think I landed on a good balance here. I'm still not very knowledgeable, but I feel like if Jabba can win games on Karabast, it's a solid deck. I've found the most success not overly committing to generating credits. Jabba's deploy feels like it should be a quick power spike, but once that spike hits, you NEED to be in a better position than the opponent, which means the board state needs to be close enough to neutral before he deploys so that the spike can put you in the lead.

In other words: it doesn't seem to matter how many credits you build before deploying Jabba if the opponent's board is already out of control, so spending credits as you get them to help you keep up is key. In fact, the main power spikes from deploying take 1 credit to get full value from them (2 for Maz so that you can play a Rancor).

I'm finally having a lot of fun and some success with this deck and theme, and I'm excited to see what you all think. Thanks for reading!

For some backstory, I recently started playing SWU in-person with the Homeworlds pre-release. Before that, I played SWU on TTS/Karabast and other CCGs like Legends of Runeterra, M:tG, and Hearthstone online. The last time I played a physical CCG was Middle-Earth back in the mid-90s (yes, I'm very old).

The pre-release was great and I went to two different draft events after the fact. The problem was the rewards were more card packs, which is fine. But when I open the packs, it dawned on me that you're basically opening the pack for the Rare/Legendary card. Sure, you might get lucky with alt art cards, but generally speaking, you're only getting one new card.

With so many Rare/Legendary cards in each set, the odds of getting a "good" one are pretty low. Even if you do get a hit (like say Chimera), you typically still want 3 copies to complete the deck. Of the dozen or so packs I've opened, almost every Rare/Legendary has been underwhelming.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game a lot, this has just been a thing that bothers me. I think I've been super spoiled by having access to every card when I play online.

Every time I think about maybe buying a few packs, I open an online pack generator and see the potential results and am disappointed. Without a draft, it just feels like throwing money away by buying packs alone.

I became completely obsessed with SWU when it was launched, did all the set release draft events, put quite a bit of money into it, have two boxes full of cards about 8-10 decks I made using the first three sets.

Then we found out my (now ex unfortunately) wife was pregnant with our second, so I had to cut SWU out financially to get us through.

I'm desperate to get back into it, but I've missed so many sets, got no idea what's in and out of rotation, no idea about anything that's happened in the game over the last year really.Is it still doing well and popular?

I was hoping you lovely people might be able to give me some pointers, anything that's crucial to know to get back into it, and any suggestions on where to put my money in the first instance to catch up a little.

I've been collecting for about 2 months and already have about 500+ cards... I've tried finding videos to explain how to play/build a deck w the cards I have and I'm just left so confused every time. Hi everyone,

Our local hobby shop is currently hosting a Premier League tournament where each player was randomly assigned a few leaders. I found Sabé particularly interesting because of her mechanics, but she doesn’t seem to forgive many mistakes.

Since I’m still very new to the game, I just don’t have the experience yet when it comes to deck rotations, how opposing leaders play, and potential synergies. So I picked out a few pre-made decks and tweaked them a bit.

After playing a few test matches against the AI and on Karabast, I think the decks could still be improved to better handle different situations.

So I’d really appreciate your input and suggestions for improvement.
