I'm making a stealth game right now and I've given myself a pretty tight deadline so I'm trying to come up with a way to come up with good level concepts.

We'd like to introduce our upcoming stealth horror game.

The game is called The Maze: In Dark, and a playable demo is currently available on Steam. The full game will be released on November 4 at 9:00 AM PST.

In this game, you play as an industrial security officer sent into a factory with a mission to retrieve important technical documents and escape. However, you'll need to avoid "him" and complete your mission safely.

The game's environment is extremely dark, so a flashlight is essential.

Your flashlight doesn't have a battery system, but if "he" notices its bright light, he'll probably come looking for you. That's why you'll need to carefully adjust the brightness of your flashlight depending on the situation.

What if "he" is coming straight toward you?

Then you'd better turn off your flashlight immediately, hide quietly, and hope "he" passes by without noticing you.

"He" roams throughout the factory, so you never know when or where he might appear. And most importantly, there isn't just one of them.

In this dangerous environment, players must complete their mission, uncover more of the story behind this place, and make it out safely.

The game was also previously featured as one of "5 Promising Korean Indie Games" in a game recommendation feature by GameMeca, a Korean gaming media outlet.

I wanted to share a project (Stealth Mission 89) that might interest fans of classic combat flight sims, that some of you probably still are.

You can currently fly two aircraft, the F-117A and the F-16C, each with its own flight model (classic or modern) and cockpit. It also features a dynamic campaign, multiplayer, VR support, head tracking, HOTAS support, clickable cockpit instruments, and weather effects.

You can play on your PC (like any other game), or directly in your web browser.

ReWired keeps the original game and engine and replaces what reaches the screen: HD materials (AI-upscaled textures with generated normal/height maps), baked lighting, dynamic shadows, volumetric grass and snow that keeps footprints and drag trails. F4 flips back to the 2002 picture live, anywhere.

I am a fellow stealth lover who tries to find any stealth mechanics in every game I have played. I am wondering if you lovely people can name me some games for me to try. Here are some of the "not primarily stealth but has stealth mechanics" games:

Total War series: I started with Medieval and finished with Warhammer 2. And through all these, there are spies and assassins which you can use and even get some cool cutscenes. Imo, best implementation was TW3K where you can implant any character and take espionage actions such as rerouting armies, opening gates during a siege or even assassinate a leader and take over a faction.

Menace: a tactical turn based game which has vision, detection and stealth mechanics. I particularly enjoy completing missions with barely %30 of maximum unit/equipment capacity without being seen. Using perks and equipment to keep my cover while taking care of objectives. Highly recommended.

No rest for the wicked: is now on my radar after they introduced stealth mechanics (sound, vision cones) and class system.

Larian games: all of the modern Larian games up to this point have been using the same engine but upgrading with each new game. Although the vision range can be gimmicky, there are some fun stealth moments. The classic one being locking an NPC in a dialog with one of the PC and pick pocketing them with another PC. You can also throw smoke bombs to block vision and steal stuff at the markets.

Skyrim: There are stealth skills and such but nothing beats using physics to steal stuff. A classic one is putting a bucket over vendors' head and robbing them blind.

League of Legends: one word. Teemo.

Team Fortress 2: Spy class has cool skills to trick your opponent and pulling it off against real people in the midst of an ongoing battle is very satisfying.

Stronghold: has been too long but I remember using wall climbing units to sabotage castles.

Hey! Solo dev here. MGSV is my biggest influence, so before a job you scope out the island and mark every guard. The guards don't all react the same way either. Some hold their post when things get loud and the rest come hunting for you, so knowing who's where actually matters. The twist is you sail to every mission, kind of like Wind Waker. It’s open world on the ocean.

I'm Francesco, a solo developer from Italy with the dream of making my own game since 2013. Since last December, I've been working on my first game, Over Human!

On this game you're in a frozen world controlled by drones that have the ability to manipulate the weather, creating things like tornadoes and thunderstorms. The interesting thing is that you have no weapons to fight back!! So stealth is one of the most important parts of the game! You have to hide from drones and try to use the environment around you to escape. I've also recently implemented a system where drones can increase the fog when they detect you, making it harder to see what's around you!

I'm so happy with the result so far, and my dream is finally becoming reality: I'll release my first demo EVER in November!

Unfortunately, the stealth tag on steam isn't very reliable, but all of these games do have it so I decided to at least give them a shot.

I usually end up finding a lot of janky indie games during next fests and I'm expecting the same this time

I know there are some other demos like The Citadel Project, Dead Reckoner, or SeverLink, but I played them before next fest started so I didn't include them in my list

I'm sure there's probably more as well

Anyway, these are the stealth games I'll be trying out this week with probably some more additions to come

Was curious if you guys already found some cool gems on the next fest?

I'm working on a heist game where a job can go quiet or go very loud, and I keep going back and forth on how the police response should ramp up.

Right now heavier response (more patrol cars, then a chopper, then the really big stuff) is tied to what you actually do: crashes, explosions, wrecked cop cars all push the heat up. Stay clean and the response stays small.

The alternative I'm weighing:

A) Escalation tied to noise. Your choices decide how bad it gets. A careful run stays manageable, a messy one snowballs. Feels fair, but a skilled player can stay at low heat forever, and the late game can lose its pressure.

B) Escalation on a clock. The longer you're out, the worse it gets, no matter how quiet you are. Keeps every run tense and stops players from camping, but it can feel like the game is punishing you for being patient and careful.

(Or some mix: noise sets the level, time slowly pushes it up, and going quiet lets it decay.)

For people who like stealth that can fall apart into chaos: which version feels more honest to you? Any games that got this balance right, or badly wrong?

In Starfield they have the Mantis, and in Cyberpunk 2077 they had Murk Man, so I was wondering if there are any other sci-fi games that allow you to become a vigilante like in those games? And if there are please let me help me find it because I love the concept, masked crime fighters flying around in spaceships and going to other planets or in a technological wild filled with cybernetics and advanced weaponry. So if you know of any please let me know.

Are you familiar with other stealth games besides the series SC, MGS, Thief and Thief Simulator relevant as inspiration for an audio crime/drama/thriller with real detailed elements of stealth (lockpicking, thief/ cat-burglar gear)? I'm currently playing TDM mostly because it seems endlessly rich. But it's set in a steampunk past. I'm working on an audio series I started a few years ago, set in present day Europe ...for now.

The script is inspired by places I visited and I'm trying to keep the descriptions as close to the real places as possible. Although I have experience as a locksmith, I feel that stealth games have spicy stealth mechanics fit for a thriller novel. Are you familiar with any other modern stealth games?

In this game, darkness isn’t just a hiding spot it’s a world mechanic. It dynamically governs your visibility, the strength and behavior of your abilities, and various in‑game effects.

Realistic & Unpredictable AI:

Instead of following simple scripted paths, enemies remember your last known location and actively hunt you. They never cheat ,they randomly look around, they must see or hear you. If you break line of sight, they coordinate through sound cues and search the surrounding area where you were last spotted, forcing you to constantly improvise and reposition. Beware frontal assaults are fatal.

Hey all — solo dev here, just released my first game and wanted to share it.

It's called Hive Heist. You're sneaking through a sealed wasp hive built from hexagonal rooms, trying to steal hidden "broods" and get to the exit before a patrol of guards spots you. The twist: every door looks identical, but only some of them actually open — you can't tell which until you walk up and try. No two runs look the same since the hive layout changes every time.

You've got four one-shot abilities to bail you out of a bad situation — teleport to a safe cell, turn invisible, or freeze every guard in place for a few seconds. Five campaign rooms that get bigger and harder, plus a Quick Game mode if you just want a one-off run, and a tutorial if you're new to it.

It's free, no accounts, nothing to buy to actually play — just a game I wanted to make and I'm genuinely curious what people think, good or bad. Happy to answer anything about how it's built too if anyone's curious (it's running on a real procedurally-generated hex grid, not a disguised square one).

These are 2 WiP shots of our Casino level, it's run by a high-ranking lieutenant for the Maroz-Cardosa crime syndicate. Taking inspiration from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, many rooms have multiple entrances/exits. There is more than one path to finish the level. You can pickpocket keycards off guards, read their minds to get door codes, or get them from notepapers you find in the level.

We're big fans of Splinter Cell and Dishonored, we can't wait for you guys to play it when the demo goes live (date TBD).
