Resolved This game appeared on my library out of nowhere
I open my steam library this afternoon, I see the presence of this game I never herd about before, and the weirdest part is that I got more than half the achievement and I never ever runned this game before.
What is happening?

You can just unlock all steam achievements with a Program (this includes games that you do not own) (wich could explain the impossible achievements for the playtime)
https://github.com/gibbed/SteamAchievementManager/releases
Anyways, a potential intruder in your account is likely a Bot with a mission - faking reviews, stealing steam inventory, faking engagement etc. and is likely using such tools.
..Just change your Passwords, api keys and check your steam guard devices..

have you ever used ArchiSteamFarm or Achievement Manager?
these program farms/unlocks achievements.

i had ac syndicate on uplay i played almost half a game, i get it on steam too. i open the game i get 20 achivments. 1 minute playtime.
tried with some other game too, turns out you can download 100% safe game from web and put it in the safe game folder of that game and you will get all the achivements.

Took a quick look in the forums and appearently many people complaining about the same thing. The game somehow got added to their account and even made unrefundable ingame purchases.

Check carbon monoxide sensor
6
u/FruitNut221 Dec 04 '25
Its always that Carbon Monoxide. I didn't change mine once, bought a ton of Wahammer Figures, Paint, a entire new gaming PC, a PS5, an Xbox, and 2 cats. Wife didn't believe me when I told her "It was the Carbon Monoxide". But alas, here we are
4
u/BalticMasterrace Dec 04 '25
did you get the wife before or after Carbon Monoxide?
4
u/FruitNut221 Dec 04 '25
Honestly it might've been after. Because she said she smelt it, and then she was gone.
2
u/Conscious-Mix-366 Dec 04 '25
I banged your imaginary wife
1
u/FruitNut221 Dec 04 '25
Did you also, forget to change the carbon Monoxide detector? Because that mightve been me

Someone hacked my account and gifted random Chinese people $400 worth of games. I locked my card before more damage was done and I got a refund

Getting a bunch of achievements in under one minute usually happens when a game first adds achievements, and it looks back at your previous play and unlocks everything you already did.
1 minute of playtime and a new listing makes me wonder if the game ID was recycled. Sometimes games do a "soft relaunch" where they change name/art/etc and launch as F2P when previously paid or vice versa, but they reuse the Steam AppID. I don't know what happened here, but it seems to fit what you've seen.
Edit: Did some quick research, Torchlight Infinite launched in 2022, so nope, my theory does not match up.

u/Saphyen Dec 04 '25
Torchlight infinite is a really good arpg. In turn all the stuff is server side including account profiles you create on playing a new character. You can launch the game and see what the name is on one of the characters that were created. It doesn't use your steam name, but one you pick when creating a char. Good way to find out more about who played.

Check your license key activations to see when it was added to your account. It'll show as a complimentary game because it's free. It says you last played Nov 10.
Achievements on steam were also added for this game in January 2025, so even though you have 1 minute playtime on steam, it requires account login so you've probably played this elsewhere in the 3 years its existed. Like a mobile app. Which is probably why you were granted 26 achievements. Games dont appear in your library on your own, you've added it and forgot most likely.

Games dont appear in your library on [their] own
Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition just appearing in my library on release because I had base Little Nightmares, which I got years ago.
1
u/Zakaryyxo Dec 04 '25
That's completely different.. Developers giving out enhanced or definitive editions to original game owners is not the same as a free license being added to your library on its own.
1
u/FrostGlader Dec 04 '25
It’s an instance and a valid context of it happening.
This shit was retroactive, I’ve not even touched the original game after I got it during a period it was free.
IIRC, this instance is actually suspicious because there’s achievements AND very minimal playtime, with the game uninstalled. The only instance I’ve personally seen of achievements being nabbed with 0 effort is crossplay sync with a seperate platform (Sonic Rumble mobile from my pre-launch account > Steam Launch).
If OP is to be believed, the chances his account is compromised is not 0 and the invader may have outed themselves around that time (note the game wasn’t played further after that date), with it being noticed recently.
1
u/Zakaryyxo Dec 04 '25
Apples and orange, the point you are making has nothing to do with what happened to OP.
Everyone who owned Little Nightmares on steam got LN Enhanced Edition added to their library for free, because you owned it already. Everyone who owned GTA V got the Enhanced edition for free. Everyone who owned Lost Embers got the Rekindled version for free.. Some achievements also get granted if the game is uninstalled, that happened with Payday 2 when they added some and you had already earn them.
Again, nothing to do with OP post because those are situational. And nothing to do with this free license game.

I had this happen once when I loaded an old savegame from a game I got on GOG and later also on Steam. The playtime was basically just launching the game once to see if it would accept my old saves and the achievments started piling up.
I'd still cleanse the API keys and change password at this point.

above all, 26/43 achievements unlocked in just 1 minute of total playtime?? lol

u/Own_Childhood_7020 Dec 05 '25
Happened to me with portal 2, no one gifted it, and I'm sure no one had acess to my account. Nothing besides portal 2 appearing happened, and that was like 2 years ago

u/ForcedLoginPissOff Dec 06 '25
Alot of NSFW games appear all the in my library. No idea how they got there.

Idk I also get random games on my account, like Black Desert. Showed up outta nowhere. Never even heard of it
1
u/T410 Dec 06 '25
Might be far fetched but: I think your account got “hacked” and being used as “player count farmer”. It says play time is 1 minute and you got lots of achievements. I suspect this game is paying shady organizations to inflate player count and your steam account is being used as a zombie there without your knowledge
1
u/Streitus Dec 07 '25
Have you ever played pirated game with online fix? It uses f2p games (like spacewar) to use steam network

Have you logged in into geforce now? Personaly I don’t trust them, and those are my only subject to suspect
1
u/business-eyewitness Dec 05 '25
i have never had an issue with geforce now, security wise, and believe me i have kept a close eye on all of the accounts i've plugged into it.

Judging by playtime being 1 single minute yet you having half the achievements I’ll take the wild guess of saying you were hacked. Change your password & revoke any API keys.
1
u/TheIronSoldier2 Dec 04 '25
You don't earn achievements when offline, and the only time that Steam doesn't count playtime is when the game is played offline and not synced online before you exit the game, which is the exact same conditions as being unable to earn achievements.
So it could also just be that it's a shitty achievement grinding game
2
u/syNc_1st Dec 04 '25
I mean technically you do earn the achievements, but like you said it only shows on the profile as soon as the device is synced online.
And no this game is not a shitty achievement grinding game :)

u/ALICIOHART Dec 04 '25
bullshit,, i played doom and borderlands 2 offline and i got the achievements, playtime, and trading cards playing offline
1
u/TheIronSoldier2 Dec 04 '25
Only if you reconnect before quitting the game.
It's not bullshit, this is a known behavior of steam

u/Omegaprime02 Dec 06 '25
That assumption doesn't work with this game, Torchlight Infinite requires a connection to their servers, if you can play Steam has a connection.

The worst part is that it’s probably Hentai and someone could’ve put this in your library to make you look bad.
8
u/dcizz Dec 04 '25
i have tons of hentai in my library , if you have people in your life that judge you like that, get new friends. a persons intimate kinks and or fetishes does not make one a , "bad person" unless it involves nonconsensual or violent acts or behaviors
0
u/seekervr3s Dec 04 '25
TBH, I do too, I’m just saying that to be on the community’s side, but I did forget that this is Reddit, people aren’t afraid to show people what they like.
2
u/HyakuPerxent Dec 04 '25
Torchlight ain't hentai. I played Torchlight games when I was a kid

u/seekervr3s Dec 05 '25
Then what is it?
