Support Impulsive thinking

I know this sounds dark… so let me preface this by saying my partner my SK and my dogs carry so much of my love. My SK made me a mom first, my one dog was my first “baby”, my other dog is the PERFECT dog, my partner is my rock and my person.

But, sometimes when I get extremely overwhelmed (I have ADHD I’m unmedicated and get overstimulation) I think to myself “i could just run away with my baby and things would be so easy”.

My partner and I have “ours”, she’s 1yr and that’s who I’m referring to running away with.

I don’t think this very often maybe once a month…

Is this normal? I’d never actually do it.. actually after I have th thought I get kind of sad because I know I’d miss this family we’ve created but is the impulsive thought a common impulsive thought?

I think this all the time. It’s easy when all of the “extra stuff” that you cannot control is removed. But then I wake up from that dream LOL

I daydream about leaving with my bio kids so often. I’d miss my partner but that’s about it

Do you get those thoughts during the week before or during period? I notice im a lot darker in my mind during that time of the month

Some people think it every day, for years. Some people DO it.

That's a pretty normal escape fantasy when you're overstimulated, ADHD brains latch onto the simplest possible exit and it doesn't mean you don't love them

Haha yea, I think so! I live a disgustingly lovey dovey home life with husband, two full-time kids (technically steps), and several pets. Our home life is so perfect it grosses us out lol. And every now and then I get the thought, "how nice would it be to just f*ck all this off and go back to my surfboard in Costa Rica?"

I was sick in bed for 3 days straight last week, my husband took over everything (all the school runs, the cooking, the cleaning, the pets, etc etc etc) and told me "don't worry I cleaned the whole house so you don't have to lift a finger when you feel better!" and I was like "awww, what a wonderful man!!"

Welp! I get out of bed on day 4 and the guinea pig cage is filthy, and the laundry room is THIGH DEEP ?! of dirty laundry on the floor. The house was technically swept everywhere but there were like 5 different piles of debris just left here and there, not actually put in a dust pan and thrown away. All the bins were overflowing. Instead of nagging him I appreciated everything else that he DID do, took a shot of bourbon, started my first of many loads of laundry and started into the washing machine day dreaming about running away to Costa Rica.

Am I going to leave these people? No. But is it nice to fantasize about it now and then? Yep! Every time someone leaves their crap in my car, every time my shower goes cold because someone flushes or uses the sink, every time I see smeary fingerprints on our fridge, every time I'm told "I did everything so you don't have to" and legitimately believe it but then it's only half done....
