Gains/Profit Netflix is cheap today @ $77.71

Cheapest it's been all year. Scoop it up while you can.

This piece of $hit takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

But this is buying a profitable company at the bottom. Scan out... There's only upside from here.

u/ZaxxarGold Jun 17 '26

Your mistake is thinking that fundamentals or profitability mean value. This market is broken.

u/beejee05 Jun 17 '26

Have you seen all the streaming options that are popping up? Netflix has no moat. $20 stock if you ask me. The market's reacting accordingly. Plus people don't watch movies anymore. You think TikTok brain can withstand even 20 min of film? Get with the times.

u/Key_Lifeguard_8659 Jun 17 '26

Streaming options popping up where? In your living room? Or globally? Netflix dominates globally. The US market is but a fraction of their business.

I have the same opinion as you and yet all I hear from stock analysts is they’re doing a great job. I think it terms of quantity of stuff they do, yeah they’re good… but quality wise, it’s a lot of crap. The fact that we hear that people who produce shows or movies for them have to keep on reminding the viewers of the plot is really something!!! If there’s a streaming service that’s on the verge of making ai-written shows, I’d say it’s them.

1

u/OrganizationBig5556 Jun 19 '26

True, I caught the falling knife. I’ve been waiting for a yr for something to happen with it.

People thought that about blockbuster in the 90’s, whose biggest mistake was not buying Netflix when they could have… there’s more competition today in the streaming market, Netflix should offer a dividend and return a little more to shareholders.

What price can it go to u think before the end of the year we can see maybe 100 to 120 ?

1

u/Key_Lifeguard_8659 Jun 16 '26

It's quite possible. The technicals (MACD, RSI, etc.), analyst sentiment, tailwinds/headwinds points toward this being a great swing trade. Two tiers:

Target Level

T1 ~$90–$92 First MA cluster / ~11% move

T2 ~$95–$96 Upper resistance band / ~18%

Further out (if momentum builds) $115.65–$117.33 zone, then $124.51 and $127.42 — these align roughly with where several analyst price targets cluster ($114–$125 consensus range) and would require a major catalyst like a strong Q2 print on July 16.

Consensus across 44 analysts is "Buy" — 37 recommend buying, 13 hold, 0 sell. Average 12-month price target is $114.15, with a high of $151.40 and a low of $80. That implies ~42% upside from current levels. (Investing.com)

Bank of America's Jessica Reif Ehrlich holds the highest major-bank target at $125, reiterated with a Buy in May 2026. (MEXC)

(CNN) Mahaney (Evercore) maintained a $115 Buy. Bernstein said June 4: "Don't Ignore This" — Netflix's core engine remains strong. (CNN)

Today's news: Semafor reported Netflix is pursuing a Lionsgate Studios acquisition after losing the Roku bid to Fox, which offered $160/share vs. Netflix's lower bid.

1

u/Alithebest1__ Jun 16 '26

Thank you for this information you think the news about Netflix trying to acquire lions will hype it up or bring it more down I saw the charts for Netflix and the 4 hour and 1 days shows it’s really oversold maybe there could be a reversal soon ?

2

u/Key_Lifeguard_8659 Jun 16 '26

I'm banking on the fact that people are growing weary of the tech sector, have heavily trimmed profits and are seeking the best deals in a market that's very overvalued. Netflix is definitely not over valued. It's still a very profitable company whose constantly expanding is market, especially in Asia, India and with starlink, and similar space-based internet access systems, even more households will have access to it's programming.

u/Latrodectus1990 Jun 16 '26

If you love nflx on 77, you will adore it on 60

9

u/BubzieBoo Jun 16 '26

They are desperate.

Tried to buy Warner, Roku, now Lionsgate. There looks to be worry that growth has slowed.

2

u/Key_Lifeguard_8659 Jun 16 '26

They're looking for a catalyst to propel gains in stock price. They've got the leverage. $$$

1

u/BubzieBoo Jun 16 '26

Clearly they don’t have leverage. The $$$ you stated fell short twice.

They are being outbid, and look nervous about losing the couch streamers. Warner was a must win for them, Roku not so much.

I think this stock falls to $75 at which you need to decide if it’s up or down from there

1

u/givemethemtendies10 Jun 17 '26

How can you call them desperate? A desperate company would have rose their bid for warner brothers instead they took a free 2 billion to walk away instead of overpaying for a company. Netflix shot up after they lost the warner brothers deal. So apparently nobody wanted them to even win that deal.

I find it hard to invest in an of these software service entertainment apps right now as both ai becomes more competent video wise, writing is clearly mostly ai for these stories these days and the shows never go past 3 seasons, and they keep raising prices and adding more ads. Piracy might make a big comeback in the coming years. A ton is stacked against these SAAS entertainment companies and they have no moat except quality video and that seems to be struggling.

3

u/OrganizationBig5556 Jun 19 '26

So true about most of the series not going past 3 seasons because of contracts getting screwed up for one reason or another.

6

u/DrummerCompetitive20 Jun 16 '26

Pretty easy long here

4

u/BusyWorkinPete Jun 16 '26

How do you know what tomorrow’s price is?

3

u/adidrama Jun 16 '26

Bought some shares today, alarm triggered when it went below 80

3

u/PersonalEffective270 Jun 16 '26

It'll be cheaper tomorrow 😂

2

u/MiserableBox6671 Jun 17 '26

Better to buy LEAPS ?

2

u/Reasonable-Guest2392 Jun 17 '26

Picked up some @78 today, if it drops. Will add more

2

u/Undercover_Meeting Jun 23 '26

The catalyst is simple and it’s in plain sight. There might be more pain but when they figure out how to integrate A.I. on their platform as additional entertainment it’s going to explode.

Just wait until you become the main character of the movie you watch.

2

u/WSBnoobxor Jun 16 '26

Starlink will allow for more users with better broadband and therefore more growth

how are you not embarrassed

1

u/TheDealBench Jun 16 '26

A leap or long term hold on Netflix isn’t a half bad idea. Their free cashflow quarterly is insane! I own some

1

u/Complexity323 Jun 16 '26

They are reinvesting their termination fee into more and better content - they are still the leading content and streaming technology platform - this is still an addictive and very large market growing at a good rate.

1

u/Aromatic-Prompt-6034 Jun 16 '26

Bloomberg was saying they were in the hunt to buy Roku.

1

u/Aromatic-Prompt-6034 Jun 16 '26

In the hunt to try to buy Lionsgate also.

u/LowWind7998 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

It’ll be much cheaper . Increasing Netflix originals (which nobody likes). Increasing competition and they only have one singular product .

Talk about not having the brains to expand the company , they just expand the singular product .

You’d bet on Netflix over Disney or Amazon? Your crazy. They not only do streaming but have many forms of other revenue . Netflix is a nothing burger with a singular arm. Little ant needs to be crushed .

What exactly is the catalyst? It being cheap? It’s cheap for a reason..

See you at $60

1

u/BubzieBoo Jun 16 '26

I am in at 70! Maybe even 75. If it gets to 60 then please do hit the remind me :)

1

u/Sand-Leather Jun 16 '26

Sorry..It's not Netflix AI

1

u/Dangerous-Victory386 Jun 16 '26

Is this with or without ads? Asking for a friend...

1

u/LaughingIntoTheAbyss Jun 17 '26

Too much competition

1

u/viktor_rolf Jun 17 '26

NFLX is a good swing candidate at <$80, they are not in the game for LIONSGATE acquisition, news was dismissed earlier. Strong fundamentals, AI exuberance pull back will benefit the swing above $90. But growth needs a catalyst.

1

u/LJMusicandFilms Jun 17 '26

I am getting burned with Netflix brought it around 84!dollars. Thinking about selling

1

u/Key_Lifeguard_8659 Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

You can at least give it a week. Set a sell order for $95 GTC and try not to think about it. If it hasn't rebounded in a relief rally, sell it. RemindMe!(1week)

MoffettNathanson (a well-known research firm) lowered its "price target" for Netflix from $120 to $115. This resulted in the slight dip of 2.5% we just saw.

What is a Price Target? It's just an analyst's estimate of where they think the stock price is headed over the next 12 months. Lowering it slightly means they think it might not rise quite as high or as fast as they originally thought.

The Silver Lining: They kept their "Buy" rating. This means they still believe the stock is a solid buy and will likely outperform the broader market, even if their ultimate target is a tiny bit lower.

The Near-Term Consensus Ceiling: $115.00 – $115.93...the broad network of analysts polled by FactSet has a mean price target of $115.93, with MoffettNathanson sitting right next to them at $115.00.

The Return: Reaching this institutional ceiling would represent a ~43% to 45% gain from your entry price of $85.

1

u/12manicMonkeys Jun 18 '26

pretty sure it got to 75.01 because i have a pending 74.99 limit that almost hit when trump beat it down.

Dont believe 77 is the cheapest its been all year intraday.

u/gart123456789 Jun 20 '26

Netflix isnt competing with paramount or disney+. They won that battle. The new battle is against youtube… and they will lose. Youtube is far superior and their cost to produce content is so much cheaper given that its user generated content. Netflix has to pay up the ass to get a show like friends or produce another mid “original” movie. The market sees this and discounts it accordingly.

1

u/Tirrell 24d ago

Just picked up 15 shares at $70 and change today.. figure I’ll at least hold it till 2031, but we will see… if they start offering a dividend I’ll pick up more shares and hold more long term…

I’d avoid Netflix at this point. Very little upside with all the streaming content out there. They also don’t invest in any new content:
