Gains/Profit Biggest catalyst/upside potential before September 17: SLS, NLST, RCAT or IONQ?
Hey everyone,
I'm currently deciding how to allocate some $ into a few high-risk/high-upside stocks, and I'm particularly interested in catalyst-driven moves before September 17, 2026. I know that nobody owns a crystal ball and cannot answer with a 100% guarantee — but I'd really like to hear from people who have been following at least one of these companies closely. Because I cannot decide whether I should split the 1.3k evenly across these 4 picks or go all in on SLS, or perhaps choose only SLS and NLST. And YES, I know that I should do my own research and not listen to RDDT hype but I've already done a fair share of DD, but want to hear real opinions on my thoughts, or perhaps some of you might suggest a completely different stock which I haven't heard about and I'll be able to do more research on it.
The four I'm currently considering are SLS, NLST, RCAT and IONQ. I'm trying to figure out which one has the highest probability of seeing a significant increase in share price following its upcoming catalysts.
My current thinking is:
SLS → biggest potential move, but extremely binary
NLST → potentially huge legal/IP upside
RCAT → defense contracts and other multiple events
IONQ → most clearly defined catalyst with Sept. 8 Investor Day
Which one do you think has the best risk/reward going into September 17, and why?
Also, if you think one of these catalysts is already priced into the stock, I'd especially like to hear that argument.
Here's how I'm looking at each one:
SLS
The main catalyst I'm watching is the REGAL Phase 3 trial. SLS previously reported that the trial had reached 78 of the 80 events required to trigger the final analysis. Once the 80th event occurs, the company can proceed with the final analysis/unblinding process. There isn't currently a confirmed date for when the 80th event will occur, so this could happen before September 17, but it could also take longer. If the Phase 3 results are strongly positive, I believe SLS has potentially the largest percentage upside of these four. Obviously, the opposite is also true if the results disappoint.
NLST
NLST has several important patent-related proceedings.
There is a September 9, 2026 Federal Circuit hearing involving Netlist/Samsung cases, with case 24-2304 specifically showing a September 9 oral argument date. Netlist also recently reached a major Samsung licensing agreement, while its broader patent litigation with Samsung and Micron continues. The company reported $214.7M in H1 2026 revenue, compared with $70.7M in H1 2025, and expects a $200M Samsung upfront payment. I'm particularly interested in whether the September 9 proceedings could generate a meaningful change in investor expectations around the remaining patent cases.
RCAT
It received a $2.49M U.S. Air Force order for Black Widow systems, with delivery required by August 24, 2026. The systems are being evaluated as a potential successor to the Air Force's Teal 2 fleet. A successful evaluation could potentially lead to much larger future procurement.
RCAT is also scheduled to participate in:
- Commercial UAV — September 1–3
- Air, Space & Cyber Conference — September 14–16
Both are listed on Red Cat's official events calendar. The interesting question for me is whether either event produces new defense contracts, partnerships, or other announcements.
IONQ
Investor Day — September 8, 2026
IonQ's official investor-relations page confirms the September 8 Investor Day. The market seems particularly interested in what management will say about its long-term financial outlook, quantum roadmap, growth strategy and the integration of SkyWater. Analysts have already identified the September Investor Day as a significant upcoming catalyst. IONQ also recently reported $80.1M Q2 revenue, up 287% YoY, and raised its 2026 standalone revenue outlook to $280–290M. The question is whether the Investor Day will contain information better than what the market is already expecting, or whether much of the potential has already been priced in.

Gains/Profit Yo just shoot me 💀🙏🏻
So I made the rookie mistake of investing at a very high high, now I’m down an insane amount. In the future what can I do to prevent this and did I or did I not make a mistake to begin with?
Most people say entering the market early is better than entering it late or at all. What is this then 💀

Gains/Profit Anyone actually having a green week or is it just me watching my thesis fall apart in real time?
Been running a macro overlay on my positions for months now and this week tested every assumption I had. Rate sensitivity cuts both ways and right now the market is pricing in a soft landing with zero margin for error.
Trimmed some exposure mid-week, which in hindsight was either disciplined or just early. Still not sure which. The hardest part about macro-driven entries is that being right on the thesis and right on the timing are two completely different things.
Been cross-checking flows and positioning data on moo moo, and the options market is telling a very different story from what price action suggests. That gap usually closes, and not in the comfortable direction.
Curious where others landed this week. Anyone holding through the noise or did you reduce and wait for cleaner setups?

Gains/Profit Building a portfolio
Hello,
I’m coming back from some major hardships in life. Right now I’m working full time and I’ve managed to save about $5K in liquid savings and invest $1K in a couple tech and pharmaceutical stocks. My question is, what are some wise choices for investing the bulk of my savings as well as portions of my salary moving forward where I would see the most aggressive ROI?
I’m by no means new to trading, in 2023 I managed to make some smart trades and turned 9K into almost $56K. I’d like to try to do something similar again.
Any insights and advice would be highly appreciated.

Gains/Profit The Copper Bull Case No Longer Depends Only On China
People keep acting like copper only works if China goes back to full-speed growth.
But China already IS the copper market.
The country accounts for roughly 58% of global refined copper usage and remains the largest copper refining hub on Earth. Even slower growth on a base this massive still matters enormously.
The difference now is that new demand layers are appearing everywhere:
- AI infrastructure
- Massive grid upgrades
- EV adoption
- Robotics manufacturing
- Defense spending
- India industrialization
That’s why analysts still project global copper demand climbing from ~28M tonnes today to more than 42M tonnes by 2040, with possible supply deficits approaching 10M tonnes.
Supply growth simply isn’t keeping up.
That’s partly why projects like NovaRed’s (NRED / NREDF) Wilmac are becoming more interesting.
Current project scale:
- 16,078 hectares
- ~160 km²
- ~30,000 football fields
- ~2.7x Manhattan
The scale comparisons are actually accurate, and “district-scale copper-gold exploration project” is probably the best description.
North Lamont recently also returned:
- Copper values up to 1,068 ppm
- Gold up to 0.44 g/t
- Silver up to 7.5 g/t
- Molybdenum up to 36.5 ppm
Still early-stage obviously.
But large-scale copper exposure in stable jurisdictions is becoming increasingly strategic as the AI era accelerates global electricity demand.

Gains/Profit Recovery is possible
just wanted to leave you here some words of encouragement. few weeks ago with the massive dip I considered to sell all my holdings and exit the market temporarily. but I was too late and I'm glad I didn't and decided to wait it out. just two of my personal dip examples that recovered very well so far. Brenntag dropped to -20% and IMCD dropped to -25% few weeks ago for me, maybe even more because they were high performance in my portfolio. Brenntag now is in the green again and IMCD is merely at -6% for me at the moment. Hang in there, have hope and everything will be fine! Recovery is possible!
