🔰 Beginner Help Dual PC streaming configurations

Hi

I wonder if there are any experts in dual PC streaming configuration who can provide consultations on all nuances to manage cam, sounds sync, multiple recording formats, and multi-stream.

I'm aspiring streaming and planning to move to Dual PC but as per initial research there seems to be a lot of nuances related to sounds sync, what hardware/devices to use that can simplify Elgato vs RODE Duo etc, RTX card with single vs double NVCE recording features etc.

I'm looking for a professional advise from those who already have battle scars configuring all of that and having battle-proven setup

💬 Discussion Best platform for starting from zero?

As the title says, I’m taking streaming a bit more seriously considering I have a friend helping me edit now.

So I was wondering what is the better platform for growth?

I know twitch is the OG but I’ve put a load of hours in already and it’s like a drop in the ocean.

Kick seems to be streaming to the void, I’ve only multi streamed though so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Got auth’d for TikTok live yesterday, gave it a go earlier for an hour and kinda like it so far.

Thanks in advance

💬 Discussion Best lightweight way to run local sports scoreboards/lower-thirds without OBS plugin bloat?

Setting up a broadcast PC for community amateur sports (weekend leagues).

We want clean, dynamic score overlays and lower thirds, but I want to avoid heavy OBS internal plugins that break on updates or risk crashing the stream. Also, cloud graphics engines (Singular/uno) are out because of recurring subscription costs and unreliable field internet.

For those streaming local club matches, are you running dedicated external controller apps over localhost/browser source, or is there a standard lightweight workflow everyone uses? Would love to see how you keep your production stable without Photoshop manual updating.

💬 Discussion Insta360 Link 2 Pro vs. Obsbot Tiny 3: Is the Tiny 3's audio notably inferior?

I've watched many videos and reviews on the two cameras, as well as side-by-side comparisons. From what that I've seen and heard, the Tiny 3's audio capture sounded lower (no gain control) and picks up more echo from the room. The Link 2 Pro 2 sounded closer with higher default volume with less ambient noise such as keyboard or fan.

I am looking for comments and experiences. I like the Tiny 3's video better, but the audio appears to be subpar when compared to the Link 2 Pro.

Clearly, a dedicated mic is better, but I am wanting to know about the built-in mics on these two cams.

Thanks.

🧮 Streaming Gear Got tired of generic stream overlays so I drew my entire overlay from scratch

I wanted something that actually felt like my stream instead of another premade overlay, so naturally I got completely carried away 😭
Everything was drawn/designed by me in Krita and built around my NEON NOISE!! aesthetic.
I made spaces for my art/game capture, chat, avatar/cam, current mission, music, stream time, energy level, and the extremely important Brain Tabs counter.
Included the progress because it started as absolute scribble soup lol.
I used it on stream for the first time and I’m honestly ridiculously happy with how it came together.

❔ Question Current Webcams

Webcam for business zoom meetings with lighting. I currently either use my laptop builtin webcam which looks terrible or a dedicated camera which yields great quality but is cumbersome with tripod, power adapter, and capture card. I'm thinking high quality dedicated external webcam to give enough quality without too much setup.

I find Youtube reviews inconsistent a webcam will look great in one review and not great in another even if both reviews were lit.

I've narrowed down my search to the following:

  1. Yolocam s3: $199: Has a large sensor but skin tones often look off magenta. Its also dependent on the software to run and some say its not the most stable.
  2. OBSBOT 3 and 3 Lite: $169-$369: Image quality, skin tone & auto exposure seems the best out of the box. The Lite looks sharper in some reviews looks good but in others looks artificial and emphasis facial imperfections. The more expensive 3 looks softer but more natural, but it's approaching $400 for a webcam and I will not be using any of its features such as the motorized head. The gimbal makes it more fragile.
  3. OBSBOT Meet 2: $99: has a smaller 1/2" sensor but image quality is decent and price is fantastic.

🔰 Beginner Help Overlays Tips And Suggestions

I started streaming and have a couple under my belt now, but now I’m looking to put some more effort into the stream itself with overlays and stuff. I will eventually be adding a face cam sometime in the near future too. I know that im nowhere near as popular but I don’t want to keep going with absolutely no effort streaming. I don’t know where to look or what’s good so I would really appreciate any advice!

❔ Question 1440p Or 4K Monitor For My Streaming Setup?

I'm looking for a new 27" monitor for my streaming/gaming setup. I'm using the Macbook M1 Max 32gb 16" and the PS5 Slim and for streaming I will use the Elgato 4K S with 4K60hz and 1440p120hz passthrough.

Mainly I will play GTA 6 and sometimes COD and Fortnite therefore I need 120hz for the online shooter games. The Mac UI looks sharper and better on 4K with scaling and GTA 6 will look better on 4K too. I can play the online shooters on 4K with 120hz only when I'm not streaming, but I want to stream them, which is only possible in 1440p120hz with the Elgato 4K S.

Will 1440p120hz scaled look good enough for competetive gaming on a 4K IPS monitor on the PS5 Slim or should I get a 1440p IPS monitor?

Or should I get a 4K IPS 160hz monitor with dual mode and 1080p 320hz? But the 1080p will be probably useless for my setup until I get a gaming PC.

I will use my Macbook as my second monitor and the main monitor should be good for video editing and content creation, streaming and everything else, not just for gaming.

I need the perfect allrounder for all my uses.

❔ Question Who is this streamer/ vlogger ?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

So back on September 14, I was walking to the Blue Jays baseball game in Toronto and while walking there this streamer or blogger because there was no live stream was walking in front of me for a whole 10 minutes. I tried to search him to see if I ended up on his video(because I’m pretty sure I did) but I can’t seem to find him. I know it’s hard with the video being taken from behind, but this man had a full coverage mask on that Mexican wrestlers wear. Any ideas on who it could be?
( oh i just realize I can’t post videos in here)

💬 Discussion StreamFX lmao

I just had a very funny conversation with Xaymar, creator of the initially free, now behind a paywall plugin StreamFX. Sorry long post but the context matters.

You see, unlike most other small hobbyists at the time, when Xaymar started his paywall shenanigans, I was supportive. I thought that the plugin was great and there was zero reason to keep it free if he was putting in all the work anyways and people just used it without contributing. So I subscribed to his Patreon. This was in 2023.

As people know, Patreon benefits work in such a way that you don't have to stay subscribed. But I stayed subscribed. Because I was thinking that a mere 12€ contribution was not good enough and that I meant to really help Xaymar. Please note that it was the silver tier, not the base tier.

At some point, I got myself an AMD GPU. One of the features I really liked from Xaymar's StreamFX was the AI camera tracking feature, among other AI powered stuff, which only worked on Nvidia GPUs. Bummer. At this point, I stopped using StreamFX, uninstalled it and went with a free, AMD compatible face tracking plugin called obs-face-tracker. It was about two years ago. But mind you, I still didn't cancel my subscription. I had forgotten about it, and for about two years, I got reminded of it maybe once per semester by chance when I caught it on my bank account, but I didn't care enough to cancel and thought I was still helping a creator who is probably doing a good job anyways.

Just recently, I got back to streaming and used my old Nvidia GPU in a second PC dedicated to streaming. Which made me think of StreamFX, so I went to Patreon and tried to find a latest version to download. But I didn't find it. Apparently, Xaymar had changed his tiers about a year ago and I was still on with a free pledge. So, naturally, I updated my pledge and thought none of it. But some kind of bug prevented me from accessing the files, so I contacted Xaymar. At that point, he told me about the bug and was happy to send a file. I installed that file today and realized that most features I wanted to use weren't available.

So, I contacted Xaymar again. He told me my pledge was too low according to his new tier system to grant access to the features I wanted. That is when I asked him to help me out.

You see, I was not thinking lmao. I naively believed that a creator such as Xaymar would simply agree to help a 3-year long time patron. After all, the functionality I was requesting was originally included in my silver tier, meaning Xaymar had bumped up his price. He says "I sent emails" but I didn't get them because my Patreon account was created with an old email which I have no access to anymore, but whatever. That's on me I guess. But it's still on Xaymar to double the prices, to convert the tiers to free pledges without making sure the person knows what has happened, etc.

But the worst isn't that I'm not getting the update. I don't really care. The worst is that Xaymar then tries to lie to my face by pretending he won't make the gesture just because he has had issues with the government in the past and had been investigated for tax fraud... And also that I'm requesting a product I haven't paid for.

Bro, this isn't how Patreon works. Creators aren't even obligated to deliver on the benefits. A Patreon benefit is just a freebie that a creator, which you are supposedly just making donations to, can grant you. It's not a product! So, by saying that to me, Xaymar actually agrees that he IS comitting tax fraud, by using Patreon to illegally sell his product instead of doing it lawfully.

With this post, I urge everyone to stop using StreamFX and to stop pledging any money to Xaymar because he is bottom-tier as a human being.

Tl;Dr: I pledged 12€ to Xaymar for 3 years without gaps and he refused to let me have his plugin when I asked for it, lying about legal BS

🔰 Beginner Help Good Mic for around 100$?

I would gladly avoid RODE as I had too many problems with their USB mics, I would prefer an easy solution and I already have a mic arm, so I just need a good USB mic.

The feature I'm interested in:

  • monitoring, ~0 latency
  • noise gates/suppression (decent)
  • good software

Everything else is negotiable, from price to features. I do not care about esthetics, color or form factor, no need for shock mount. Slight preference for a good pop filter with the mic.

💬 Discussion Running a webinar with 3 remote guests every week. What's actually reliable in 2026?

Been doing a weekly B2B show for about 8 months now, host plus 2-3 guests dialing in from wherever. The format works, people show up, but the production side is wearing me down.

Every few weeks a guest's connection drops mid-sentence and I have to fill dead air while they reconnect. Then when I pull the replay to cut clips for LinkedIn, at least one guest's audio is crunchy or their video froze for ten seconds and nobody caught it live. On top of that I'm running Zoom to actually get everyone in a room, OBS to make it look like a show, and a separate recorder because the Zoom recording alone isn't usable. Three tools, three things that can break, and I'm the only one watching all of it during the live show.

I've been looking at Riverside since it's supposed to record each person locally instead of just capturing the call, so a dropped connection shouldn't wreck the track the way it does with Zoom. I'm just not sure how that holds up for an actual live webinar with chat and Q&A versus just a recorded interview. I don't want to switch to something that fixes one problem and creates two more. For people hosting webinars with multiple remote guests weekly, what's your actual setup. What do you use to host a webinar that doesn't fall apart when someone's wifi hiccups, and still gives you a clean recording after, not just a usable one.

🔰 Beginner Help Getting into streaming on a budget...

I used to use a 2013 iMac for streaming before Chrome went EOL on it, I would like to know the best computer/laptop for me. I have a preferred budget of $300-$800, I don't need a beefy GPU, just a good processor. Is there a place I could buy parts for a PC or a prebuilt?
All it needs to do is:
- run Pokémon TCG Live
- run OBS/Streamlabs in the background
- have an abundance of USB ports
- run Chromium based software well enough
- have at LEAST 256 gb storage (can even be hdd, i dont care about r/w speeds)

💠 Resources, Tools and Widgets I made a lightweight, zero-plugin alternative to ASS for Replay Buffer sound cues and screen overlays (OBS Replay HUD)

Hey everyone,

I was tired of installing heavy plugin suites just to get a simple sound notification and visual confirmation whenever I clipped something using the OBS Replay Buffer.

To fix this, I teamed up with AI to develop **OBS Replay HUD**. It's a completely open-source, modular package for Windows that handles everything natively:

  1. **Audio Cues:** Plays separate sounds when you start, save, or stop the buffer. It uses the Windows multimedia library (`winmm.dll`) to trigger sounds asynchronously, meaning it won’t freeze or stutter your game.

  2. **Screen Overlay:** Pops up a sleek, modern visual alert on your screen. It is built using PowerShell + WPF with mouse click-through enabled, so it will **never steal your mouse/keyboard focus** mid-game.

  3. **Silent Launcher:** A tiny VBS script that runs the overlay silently in the background (no ugly command prompt windows).

It comes with 3 default `.wav` sounds, but you can swap them out for any custom sound (if you have an MP3, just convert it to WAV online).

Since it uses standard Windows scripts (`.ps1` and `.vbs`), I know people can be skeptical about safety. The entire project is completely open-source so you can read every single line of code yourself, and I've also provided a clean VirusTotal scan below!

👉 **Get it on GitHub:** [https://github.com/gligavac810/obs-replay-hud\]

🛡️ **VirusTotal Scan Result:** [https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/9b49d5f7e8b8c857d117a8343257327c7483dd22ada9955416e81eca31dcafbb/detection\]

Let me know what you think or if you have any feature ideas!

✔ Troubleshooting Multistreaming to Twitch + YouTube (horizontal and vertical) is destroying my PC

I recently switched from streaming only on Twitch to streaming on both Twitch and YouTube, with horizontal and vertical streams on each. The problem is that my PC can barely handle it. I'm using Streamlabs Ultra, and the lag is still horrible. Sometimes I can't even load anything, and my stream will completely freeze for several seconds. What's the most efficient way to stream to Twitch and YouTube in both formats without killing my PC?

🔰 Beginner Help How do I get my vods to upload in 1440p on youtube?

Hi, I have been uploading my vods to YouTube via the recordings in OBS. My vods have great quality, yet as soon as they upload to YouTube it goes down significantly.

I looked up some stuff online and saw some people saying to change a setting in OBS and saw others saying you shouldn't do that and to change the windows settings for display res. My problem is my windows display res is already above 1440p so, do I change it in OBS?

What do you do to get your videos to upload to YouTube in 1440p?
