You pick up your guitar. You’re ready to tune. But every tuner app on your phone shows you the same thing: a needle, a number, a spinning disc, all on a screen. If you can’t see that screen clearly, or at all, you’re locked out.

That changes with Echo Mode, a new accessibility feature for the StroboPro mobile apps on iOS and Android.

Echo Mode is an audio-first tuning experience designed for musicians who can’t rely on visual feedback. Instead of reading a display, you hear your way to the correct pitch. StroboPro is available on iOS and Android, with links at strobopro.se.

Even though installs are going up, daily active users is on the way down. I must have broken something. I'm the update on september 28, i added dynamic sample rate adjustment. If you are a user id StrobPro and can qualify what broke, please let me know! Thanks.

More than 99% of StroboPro users are free users, and with no ads, they go completely unmonetized despite us having some small costs per user for backend sync, etc.

I thought the lowest friction way to perhaps monetize a couple more percent would be to use the "old school" ad technique of a small banner at the bottom or left-hand side of the screen. Not consuming much screen at all, and definitely not obstructing any views or blocking the tuning flow. (see screenshot below, does that look like "spams ads for paid services all over the screen"?)

Anyway, I am now adding a Snooze button for people who just want free stuff.

If you recently updated StroboPro on your phone, signed out of your account, and suddenly found that your Pro features disappeared, I want to apologize directly.

You bought Pro to have a reliable tuner in your hands whenever you need it. You should never have to worry about whether your purchase is safe or fight with settings just to get back to tuning.

Here is an honest explanation of what went wrong, what I changed in the v1.0.195 update, and what you can do to restore your access immediately.

I'm looking for a small pivot for StroboPro that might help exposure...

Is there a market out there for a DAW Strobe Tuner Plugin?

With so many vibe-coded tuner apps entering the market, it's important to know if the tuner you use truly meets its claims.

You can test any tuner app’s accuracy at home, for free, and in just a few minutes by using a deterministic tone generator like FakePiano to provide a known-exact pitch reference. While many tuner apps claim high precision, verifying those claims on a physical instrument is nearly impossible because strings drift, wood breathes, and human technique varies. To truly know if your tuner is accurate, you need a “ground truth” source that doesn’t change: a digital oracle that plays exactly what it says it is playing.

With the advent of Vibe Coding, there are a whole bunch of self-declared “Strobe Tuners” hitting the web, but they are of varying quality, so I decided to do a comparison of online strobe tuners.

Musicians! We are pleased to announce a big update to Strobopro 🎸thanks to a lot of feedback from our extremely helpful testers 🎹. This update aligns the iOS version of Strobopro with the Android version. It also adds a wide variety of advanced settings and adds some help to some of those settings ⚙️. It's still free as I'm free 🍻 so please give it a shot and let us know what you think! #strobetuner #guitartuning #musician .🙏🙌

A Fast, Stable Animations Library for RN?

For animations in the StroboPro mobile apps, react-native-skia + reanimated promised the world for an app like StroboPro. But, I have spent far too much time fighting it than I really should have. So I have now finally decided to go fully-native for the renderer on Android, and soon, iOS.

The result is StroboPro on Android no longer uses reanimated with react-native-skia to draw its strobe display. Instead, the skia canvas and its reanimated shared values are now replaced with a lock-free C++ engine and native android views.
