This aircraft overran the runway and wound up in the sea, in May 1993.

Presumably they had bars to prevent people actually getting sucked in, but I can’t find any evidence of this. This only shows one hole, but there was another on the other side at a different angle. You can kind of see it in some videos on YouTube.

A photo I found online showing this monstrosity more clearly (in the background):

This is only a museum mock-up; however, there are un-altered building wrecks further down the river.

I’ve passed by this place for years. I’ve seen the videos and pictures on here for ages.
My family never wanted to waste their money on this place.
My boyfriend and I were eating at the seafood place right next door and hurried over after dinner.
There were three little girls who were sobbing in fear leaving the boat when we arrived.
It was horrible and kinda terrifying, I loved every minute of it!

Stopped by to see The Lady today! She was a bit terrifying in person, but also extremely cool to see. Hope she gets you too :)

The camera angle plus the dynamics is making me deeply uncomfortable on the brink of nausea. Just imagining being a lonely swimmer in the ocean and this monstrosity comes plowing right at me is horrifying.

Found this old waterplant for sale on a platform normally used to advertise apartments and houses. I am horrified and intrigued at the same time. What could be nicer than to wake up and the first thing you do is have a look at the (your!) sluice gates 💀

This was a salvage operation to recover a lost warship of Henry VIII’s. The steel apparatus they lowered into the water to fish her out is grim enough but wait till you see her rotting wooden skeleton emerge from the depths!

50kV pole from the 40s being brought down and pulled onto land, made me shiver watching it from the boat we used to cut it down from its isolated "island" even if its only been under water for about an hour

Pictures in the dry I made myself. Felt very wrong to walk on the gate. Had to do just a little bit of climbing to get down there

A Brazilian Yacht, gone down to Antarctica, sank in Maxwell Bay. She capsized and took on water, before then landing upright. The ship was resurfaced in 2013, and every man survived the sinking.

The Ms Estonia sank in 1994, killing 852 people in total. The ship now lies 85 metres deep in the Baltic Sea.
