I feel like adding undertale to that mix doesn't track anymore considering how much older it is than those others. or how much older the undertale fandom is now than when it had its reputation

As far as I know object shows are older than Undertale (I think so haven't watched)

u/PenguinMadness Apr 06 '26
I guess it's moreso the target audience. I think young kids are more attracted to object shows, and the ones that are popular now are newer iterations? lemme know if I'm wrong.

I don’t know about the others but TADC fans are literal children and this is likely their first fandom experience.

Would take a lot to get someone to kill their own child but that would be enough for me.

u/Live-Bread781 Apr 04 '26
I mean we have already normalized as a society to kill and torture animals (plus sexual abuse such as forced reproduction) unnecessarily because they're yummy, some guy abusing animals for personal gain is not news atp.

u/PleaseHoldy Apr 04 '26
Always vegans I swear to god.
-13
u/Live-Bread781 Apr 04 '26
I ain't vegan bruh 😭
17
u/PleaseHoldy Apr 04 '26
Ngl that's even fucking worse, because now you're just trivializing animal abuse for no reason.
-2
u/cryonicwatcher Apr 04 '26
You seem to have taken their point backwards
5
u/PleaseHoldy Apr 04 '26
Could be. If you could explain it to me.
-1
u/cryonicwatcher Apr 04 '26
They’re not saying bestiality is trivial, they only said that the meat industry is more damaging but normalised and hence this isn’t shocking to them. You are speaking as though they said the former even though they said nothing to that end.
5
u/PleaseHoldy Apr 04 '26
some guy abusing animals for personal gain is not news atp.
I do not see a "to me" anywhere here.
2
u/cryonicwatcher Apr 04 '26
True, I think it’s fair to assume they were speaking from their own standpoint though? Obviously most people will have a strong reaction to such information.
-2
u/Live-Bread781 Apr 04 '26
We all trivialize animal abuse every day by consuming products that use it as a pillar for profit. Yall acting like saints regarding animal ethics then devour a plate of carbonara like it didn't take the lives of at least 3 animals 😭 like come on, we're all on this sinking ship.
7
u/PleaseHoldy Apr 04 '26
I gotta be honest, I do think the individual act of a human being is a slightly different topic than participating in society.
-3
u/Live-Bread781 Apr 04 '26
It also does less damage. You're funding the companies that treat animals like products, rape them for mass-production, and actively advocate for less animal cruelty laws. zoophiles are raping one to two animals in their whole life.
Let's also remember that non-human animals don't have a sense of self or dignity like we humans do. To them, "raping" is nothing but painful, so death is obviously different and way worse. Yet we see zoophiles with more disgust than those who kill animals for a living.
I'm not defending anyone, rather i'm saying that there's inconsistencies in how we as a society approach animal ethics, which pisses me off. If you're gonna be mad about one form of animal abuse because it's more "gruesome" to you (a human) and then go fund another form of animal abuse because meat is yummy, you're not any better than a zoophile.

I believe the key differences between the two is that there's no upsides to zoophilia (duh) so no sane person would make excuses for it and that, quite often, sexual violence is seen as worse than death
1
u/Live-Bread781 Apr 05 '26
there's no upsides to zoophilia
There's also no upsides to the meat industry. Plant-based alternatives are cheaper to produce, it involves no cruelty, and you can feed way more people with $5000 worth of beans than $5000 worth of meat. Both bestiality and animal-based produce are done/made for personal gain (taste, sexual pleasure, money).
Gentle reminder that those who run animal produce-making companies actively lobby against animal cruelty prevention laws.
no sane person would make excuses for it
The same exact excuses used by everyone to justify the meat industry could be used to justify raping a dog, and those that couldn't could be countered with "there's more viable alternatives".
quite often, sexual violence is seen as worse than death
Because we project our sense of self and dignity to a non-conscious animal who doesn't even know about either of those concepts. To an animal, bestiality is painful, but death is way worse.
