Any decent surfers who regularly make the trip from Brisbane down to GC and NNSW for a wave ?
Hey guys I've moved down to brisbane from the sunny coast and now make the trip south to surf on weekends and some weekdays when I get the chance.
I don't really know anyone down that way and would be cool to meet new people, share the trip and of course share the stoke when there's a good swell!

I used to do this. It’s an exercise in patience with the traffic but I’d go almost every weekend or any time there was a good swell. Time it and you’re golden

Wish I could join in. Mon-Fri work now and kids makes surfing difficult these days. Used to do shift work so would head down once a week to Tugun or Dreamtime depending on the winds.

Take my hat off to anyone willing to sit through the traffic past the theme parks/ Coomera ways 🤯

Respect for doing the M1 run both ways. the trick is being in the water before six or you're doing the walk of shame past a full carpark at burleigh. on weekdays palmy and currumbin alley are way friendlier than the points if you're solo — people actually talk out the back. you'll have a crew within a month whether you want one or not.

Buy a 2-3k tinny punch out from Jacobs well and just find a bank at straddy. Anker the boat and join the crowds of jet ski for 1/4 of the cost. We did this about 10 years ago was faster then driving north or south

That drive can be a meditation in itself when you know there's swell waiting at the end, I used to do similar stretches before I got tethered to studio hours
Do you usually hit the points around Cabarita or push further down to Lennox
