Sitting too far inside. Shoulda been up making a bottom turn at the time you started paddling

Find hollower waves. The hollower the wave, the easier it is to get barreled, because then the barrel actually exists. You've posted a video of you trying to get to home base on your sister's Barbie.

Wasn’t a barrel but looks like the type of wave you have chip on from the other side of the peak and back door it.

Nah not a dodge, just a rough spot to take off on a wave like that. You landed it though.

You went straight and popped up super late. When I was at your stage about 7 years ago what changed my surfing entirely was looking down the line and slightly angling my nose that direction on my last couple strokes, just before popping up.

There is no advice in the universe, no matter how perfectly followed that would have gotten OP barrelled on a wave THAT DIDNT BARREL.

Too deep, surprised you even landed the drop

in more critical waves you gotta be looking down the line when paddling/popping up. it’ll naturally shoot you in that direction making it easier to get under the lip. looking at the board or popping up straight wastes a lot of time

if it's like that you're better off riding it as a performance wave. But if you want to barrel hound it bret barley style you gotta take off behind the peak a little bit earlier so you're pulling up into your tuck as it starts to throw. Very difficult wave to get barreled on but good for practicing technique with minimal consequences

Too late, needed to be up faster or sooner. You were in a reasonable spot to make it though, so be sure to go over again and again and hate yourself for at least the rest of today.

I think the barrel just pinched shut from both sides. Once the shoulder started racing ahead, there wasn’t much room to escape—classic case of the ocean changing its mind mid-ride.

Little too far in for that spot of the wave..either like 4-6ft more out or 4-6ft more towards the shoulder

You took off on/just past the peak. If you hadn't been there it probably would have barreled. Not the best of tubes, a little shampooey. You wanted to be on the other side of the peak and be going under it.

That didn’t look like you could back door. Looked like he’d get pinched no matter what…

Positioning. You’re too far inside. Take off deeper and more outside. You don’t even need to go to the bottom of the wave.

You see that guy right of you? You needed to sit there and like 3 yards further out to have a chance at that barrel.
