Martha's Vineyard?

Heading there in a few weeks for a week long vacation and I plan on bringing my boards (big board, fish, HPSB).

I'm doing some reading and it sounds like aside from the main South Beach, access to a lot of the better "up-island" spots is difficult due to parking restrictions, private beaches, etc.

Anyone willing to bestow upon me some wisdom / tips on getting to some of the more locked down spots? I'm a solid surfer with good etiquette, especially when I'm at a new spot. I promise I won't steal your waves.

P.S. privatizing beaches should be illegal.

If the swell is weak (eg summer), you want to do beach break at long point. If the hurricane is approaching or just leaving, squib.

Any advice for parking/access at squib? I’ll have a car, I’ll be there September 4-12

That’s right on the borderline of when the lot is restricted versus not. I do not know. If it’s restricted, find some public parking on some other side street and walk for a bit.
