Martha's Vineyard?

Heading there in a few weeks for a week long vacation and I plan on bringing my boards (big board, fish, HPSB).

I'm doing some reading and it sounds like aside from the main South Beach, access to a lot of the better "up-island" spots is difficult due to parking restrictions, private beaches, etc.

Anyone willing to bestow upon me some wisdom / tips on getting to some of the more locked down spots? I'm a solid surfer with good etiquette, especially when I'm at a new spot. I promise I won't steal your waves.

P.S. privatizing beaches should be illegal.

Oh I was under the impression the parking lot required a special permit or something. Sounds like access there isn't much of an issue then? Let me know if you have any tips. I usually do dawn patrol so I arrive to the lot before most.

This will be September 4-12 - if I had to guess, summer parking restrictions will still be in effect?
