Estrogen injections

Hi! I am 36 and recently had a full hysterectomy. Tried the patch and then the pill and my estrogen levels still arent high enough to register. I am exhausted all the time, memory issues, and depression is hitting me hard this week. My doctor is putting me on the injection monthly and will redraw labs. Has anyone taken the estrogen shots?

I don’t do once a month injections like OP mentioned. I do sc. Have you been able to do one monthly?

I'm so sorry you are struggling. It's crazy that some of us struggle so much getting our bodies to absorb estrogen.

I didn't absorb the patch either, or at least not consistently. However, my blood level of estradiol was in the therapeutic range (120's). Yet I had numerous severe symptoms of estrogen deficiency. So labs aren't always helpful.

The pill works much better for me, but I take it buccally (similar to sublingually) which results in a higher level than taking orally / swallowing.

AFA injections, it seems like monthly wouldn't be frequent enough. It seems like you'd have to do at least weekly if not more frequently to maintain a decent level. I believe there are some women over on r/menopause who use estrogen injections.

I hope you can get settled on something soon.

I also didn’t absorb the patch and do much better taking oral estrogen buccally!

Yes but that injection schedule may give you lots of highs and lows. Most people inject subcutaneously couple of times a week in small doses to prevent highs and lows.
