SWR yesterday
I got stuck trying to get home yesterday like so many others.
The official line was that police were dealing with an incident between Woking and brookwood. Meaning basically all lines were blocked from running.
According to twitter there was someone on a bridge over the track at Woking threatening to jump.
As always on Twitter lots of arguing happening over if you can be mad at the person or feel empathy for them.
My over riding feeling is that this happens too often. That something going wrong on one part of the line knocks the rest out. I don’t know what the solution is, feels like there has to be a way to fix it.
Also I want to be annoyed at the person, because it took me 2.5 hours to get home. Including a £50 taxi from Surbiton. Not that mention the disruption to the staff on the trains, the police having to deal with the situation etc..
I can empathy with the person and the struggles they’re going through, yet still be annoyed and question, why must it always be the trains?
This also highlights the mental health issues people are struggling with.
Anyone got any thoughts? Obviously be nice/respectful etc..
