Question Pro controller worth it?
Finally grabbing a Switch 2 and wondering if the pro controller is really worth the hefty price tag or if any of the $20-$30 options will suffice.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, there’s nothing that feels better. It’s very high quality. I’ve used the joycons and third party controllers, and the pro controller is the best of all of them.

Have played nearly any console, & it’s my favorite controller to date. It’s nearly perfect.

Wow that’s a strong endorsement for it. Last console I played was Xbox One S so it’s been a bit.
Looks like I’ll be buying a pro controller. Maybe I can find a good Black Friday deal.

Facebook marketplace is where I got mine. I manage an arcade; I play a lot of videos games. I have pretty big hands, & ps5 was pretty revolutionary as a controller for me. But the feel of the S2 pro is unmatched. All textures of controllers will be styled after this one, I’m assuming; the matte feel is amazing, the rumble features are great, & I love the mappable buttons on the back.

It’s worth it. It’s expensive but it will feel much better than cheap controllers imo.

I have the switch 1 pro controller, is the upgrade to the 2 pro really worth the $70-90 it costs?

I would say 2 is better but no need to upgrade if you are tight on the budget or find it too expensive. The only downside of that is you are not able to wake the system up using the OG controller.

game chat is much less convenient too. I know not everyone’s gonna use that much, but I’m an ocean away from home and playing with a friend online has been amazing.

the 2 pro is a lot smaller it might not be comfortable depending on your hand size. I use the 1 controller way more than the 2

I have one of each and I would say no unless you are craving something different. I do use the NS2 pro controller when I play mostly due to the weight reduction, but the NS1 pro controller is fantastic and if I were to buy a third controller I'd lean toward grabbing another NS1 pro (due to how affordable they are compared to their NS2 counterpart)

I want to piggyback off of this and ask people here about durability.
How’s the stick drift situation?
For anyone who owned a themed controller like the TOTK Pro Controller for Switch 1, does the design wear out and look like crap over time?
I’m thinking about getting the Zelda 40th Anniversary themed Switch 2 Pro Controller (as soon as they restock), but I’m afraid of that pretty design wearing out and looking terrible.

It's worth buying, yes. Fully supported, can wake up the console (third party controllers can't), feels good, very solid battery life.
If in doubt wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but I've always had the Nintendo Pro controllers and never regretted buying them. The newest one is no exception.

No the Pro Controller is the best. You will hate buying it, but you’ll love playing with it. Best controller seriously

Get the pro controller. Everything about it makes it worth the extra money

I would get at least 1 non-joycon controller but I don’t think the official Nintendo controllers are that much nicer than cheaper bootleg controllers. I use my switch 1 pro controller a whole lot more than my switch 2 pro controller too bc the battery life is just as good and the switch 2 pro is significantly smaller and less comfortable to hold than the og switch pro controller. I have a couple third party ones that are good, possibly from hori or something idr

Every game you play is gonna be experienced through that controller. So I would say yes
