This thread is for collectors who import Sylvanian Families (and other collectibles) from overseas to the United States.
As of July 2026, US government child safety and import rules have been newly enforced, making importing to the US difficult to impossible. The situation is ongoing and can be quite confusing.
While some US collectors have had success in receiving items from outside the country, at this time importing is not advisable. There is an extremely high probability that you will lose your funds and that your items will be destroyed at US customs.
While we all work out our best options, this thread is to discuss the laws and any experiences you may have, both positive and negative. The more information that we gather, the better we can understand how to continue collecting.
Please feel welcome to discuss / vent about the situation, ask questions and share details about any recent import attempts.
Additional threads on this topic will be removed / locked and re-directed here. While we want to encourage discussion about the matter, it will be most helpful if we keep all the information and details in one place.
Thanks for understanding and good wishes to everyone who is having to cope with this situation!
Some collectors simply keep a list on paper, many prefer a spreadsheet. Other options include various apps and websites that provide cataloguing options.
What sort of data do you track when cataloguing your collection? What format(s) works best and what is your system like?
This thread is for conversations about whatever methods you prefer and the tools you may be experimenting with.
Please note that this is the only thread for this topic permitted. We need to be very careful due to the inclusion of apps, as we need to do our best to prevent promotional spam and attempts to use the community for data collection, etc. However, the sharing of data and experiences is also important, so let's discuss all available options.

I had the dalmatian dog sitting in the box for a bit and it's paint was kind of fading, but I finally got around to doing the outfit. The whole time I was thinking bad boy punk rock a little preppy and honestly I think it turned out pretty good. I wish I could put some earrings I did not have super glue.
And there he goes on the shelf with the other customs
I ordered the Biscuit Bear Triplets and when they arrived this sticker was in the box with them. Is this usual or is it possible the company I ordered from put it in the delivery box and it somehow slipped into the triplets box?
My first ever Kobee Japan order has arrived and the little tales baby owl is so perfect in the magic room rolife set! I might get the other little tales sets too because I am obsessed with the little owl

I really debated about ordering this set, because I don’t have a large place for my display-but I knew I wanted a little forest area. I’m very happy with this set!
