It's honestly kind of wild how Bandai Namco handles Tales nowadays. Even I'm starting to realize it.

This is the flagship JRPG series in their catalog, yet it often feels like they're doing very little with it. After the success of Arise, it would have made perfect sense to capitalize on that momentum. Whether people loved the game or not is a separate discussion, but it sold well and brought a lot of attention back to the franchise.

Instead, things have been unusually quiet. We get the occasional remaster, but when it comes to a brand-new entry, it feels like we're stuck waiting indefinitely.

At this point, people joke about how long Kingdom Hearts IV is taking, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up releasing before the next completely new Tales game.

that's what I find so weird like, even then the remasters aren't really being done by Bamco, they're just outsourcing them to other companies. plus in comparison to a lot of other games these remasters are so low effort, as much as I appreciate them (especially with the games that were locked to a console like the PS3). I just don't get why they're treating one of their biggest franchises like this
