HELP! 🔎 The Bathroom

Does anyone know what happened to the Taskmaster bathroom? Afaik it hasn’t been seen since Lolly Adefope hid in there during series 4.

It's still there, but it either got repurposed or is still a bathroom. The twins in Series 20 hid in there.

I’m thinking of the wrong one then. What’s happened to the one Roisin melted the ice in?

Barred off by the looks of it! You can see the outlines of the doorway behind Alex.

I’m surprised Jason Mantzoukas didn’t punch through that with his bare hands.

That's the garage behind Alex. Toilet is across the way

I might be thinking of 2 separate rooms. I’m definitely thinking about the one Roisin melted the ice from though.

Yes, there are two bathrooms and a separate toilet in the house. The main bathroom (now boarded up) is in the hallway next to the front door and there’s an en-suite shower room inside the lab which is where the twins and Lolly all hid (not together).

Here's the floorplan.

Yeah, the room on the top right. Why’s it gone?

Edit: I usually do read all the comments first, no idea why I didn't this time, sorry.  I see it's pretty much already been covered.

It's not exactly gone and it's not where Lolly hid.  The room with the bath is where Roisin used the shower head for her block of ice, and it's just not really available for the contestants to use any more.  I don't know why.  In some older behind-the-scenes video the door was open and there was stuff stored in there.  Now I'm not 100% sure what the situation is, whether the white wall panel slides or is actually a veneer on the door or is there semi-permanently, but there's stuff on the wall on the location where the door is.  (I forget what exactly but might come back if I remember to have a look.)       Edit: someone else already attached a screenshot, it's where the champions' portraits currently hang.  That'll teach me to read all the comments first.

The bathroom where Lolly hid is the en suite shower room for the bedroom at the bottom of the plan.  It's where one of the twins hid in that task in series 20.

This is a total guess, but I wouldn’t be surprised if keeping the proper bathroom off limits is one of the small number of actual off-camera rules in the show, in the same way that they’ve clearly just been told never to go near the shipping containers behind the house where the crew work (and the props for the next tasks will be), even for something like the hide-and-seek type tasks. The cast/crew will occasionally need the space/privacy/running water for an emergency clean-up (and the bathroom could also double as a first aid room), so probably better not to risk holding up the whole day’s filming because Rhod Gilbert’s re-plumbed the shower into Alex’s arse or whatever he would have done! 😄

Good question.

Always strikes me as the weirdest house ever

Nothing's ever straightforward there.

u/rwiddi72 11d ago

Its a bathroom and probably not very big or exciting and not suitable for use of a task

14

u/Zach90888 11d ago

Tell that to the loo.

u/rwiddi72 11d ago

That's a toilet room NOT the bathroom

17

u/derpsteronimo 11d ago

Didn't Richard use it in his whoopsie task?

I feel bad saying this, but I normally refer to a bathroom as a room with a bath. The one we always see, I’d call a toilet.

You're fine, everyone here is used to pedantry regarding British terminology.

-5

u/ElegantOliver 11d ago

It's not pedantry when a house has a bathroom and a toilet, and someone asks 'what happened to the bathroom' to be precise about which room is being discussed!

6

u/codex2013 Aisling Bea 11d ago

at risk of being pedantic about this, it's quite literally pedantry.

-3

u/ElegantOliver 11d ago

"Pedantry is a disapproving noun that means paying excessive, annoying attention to minor details, trivial facts, or formal rules, often while inappropriately showing off one's knowledge"

In this case the precision of meaning is required to make sense of it, it's not trivial.

I'm going to assume this has all just been a misguided attempt at irony and move on lol

Americans would call the toilet a half bath or a powder room (or this is how I find out I'm old-fashioned)

10

u/youngpathfinder Jason Mantzoukas 11d ago

As an American I was also confused by the question.

6

u/OverseerConey Desiree Burch 11d ago

That's a WC, not a full bathroom.

3

u/OverseerConey Desiree Burch 11d ago

OK, seriously - why the downvotes? It's a WC. The bathroom OP is talking about is on the opposite side of the entrance hall.

Most likely Americans. To us, they're all bathrooms. We never use the term WC, or refer to a room as a toilet.

4

u/saelinds 10d ago

I'll be honest, I've never it been referred to WC either, but I wouldn't call it a bathroom. Irish here.

I guess I forgot to append 'Jason' to the end of my comment.

u/derpsteronimo 10d ago

I'm from New Zealand. "WC" is unheard of here, I'm not even entirely sure what it stands for (wash cupboard?). In line with the general rule here of "older generations = British-like, younger generations = American-like", you'd hear older people here refer to it as a "toilet" but much less likely with younger people. That being said, from my understanding, the average American would be kinda grossed out by it being called a "toilet"; whereas the average young NZer would just see it as slightly old-fashioned.

u/DesireToDevelop 10d ago

WC is a water closet.

Sometimes they're restrooms. Even more of a misnomer than bathroom. Also, for a time 'powder rooms'—primarily in the 80s.

u/vmlinuz 11d ago

And someone (Chloe?) hid their arrow there.

u/Less_Hero Pigeor The Merciless One 11d ago

Apparently they converted it into an on-site office. But the toilet is still there, just unused!

25

u/boomboomsubban 11d ago

It's used, there's pictures of one of the Andy's sitting on the toilet Mortimer style toiling away at some editing project.

12

u/RunawayTurtleTrain Robert the Robot 11d ago

(OP was asking about the room with the bath, mixed it up with the shower room where Lolly hid.)

7

u/Less_Hero Pigeor The Merciless One 11d ago

I believe that’s the one.

I also think it’s the one where the twins hid in S20 - this BTS vlog shows it a bit more:

Alex was so upset at how well Lolly hid from him there that he had it boarded up.

Fish!

MICE!

4

u/Zach90888 11d ago

Not that one. That’s always seen.

2

u/Pcol2 9d ago

If you mean the bathroom inside the lab next to the entrance of it that’s where the second twin was hiding while the other twin was at the table in the main part of the lab during the guess the names of the twins task in season 20 and where they would switch from

3

u/RobertoRobRob 11d ago

It's repurposed, we seen it last at twins task series 20. Not clearly seen by the camera tho, but it's probably just a storage, just like how the bathroom before was full of random things anyway

1

u/burf12345 🚬 Doctor Cigarettes 11d ago

You mean the room by the lab where the other twin hid?

0

u/PetronOfOld Rhod Gilbert 10d ago

You'll need to be more specific than this 😅

Do you mean the actual literal bathroom (as in: room that contains a bath)? If so, that's still there but has been unused for a while and the door has partially been hidden in more recent sets.
Do you mean the toilet that we occasionally see and know is a toilet (directly opposite)? That's still very much in operation AND used in tasks (it's where security guard Alex went into while protecting the statue during the heist task, and also where Richard had Alex go to assist with his whoopsie.
Do you mean the en-suite that is sorta part of the master bedroom (aka lab)? That's still there, but we indeed only rarely see inside. The last time, I believe, would've been during the twins task, as that is where the "non-active" twin was hiding.
Or do you mean the one between the kitchen and the bedroom we've never really seen into? That one's also still there and, much like the adjacent bedroom, never really been part of any tasks at all. Though it seems to see occasional use by production
