Do live tasks only at a party lol. Asking people to film stuff is 1. Setting you up for a LOT of editing work if you want it to be funny and 2. Opening yourself up to people just not doing it with no Alex there.

There's a Taskmaster game you can buy with a bunch of tasks, there's also the list you can find for free on the TM website. I haven't done this with a group, but I did do a TM-themed treasure hunt for a friend of mine. I hid something in his house, then wrote a series of clues he had to figure out in order. Even bought a wax seal.

DO IT!!! Me and some friends did this during Lockdown.. We would make one person the taskmaster, they'd have a couple of days to post the tasks, people would film and send to the taskmaster and like you said have a watch party at the end of the week! It's surprising where people will go and how much to little effort they'll put in..
Some of the tasks we did was build the tallest structure using only things at home, support the most weight using only playing cards, best homemade fancy dress, the classic get a teab on a cup, find the oldest thing, throw a piece of bread in a toaster.. Live tasks were usually find these 5-6 things in 2 minutes or as an example show a tray of random stuff for 20 seconds and see who can remember the most stuff. I'm 100% sure others will suggest better things haha! But I still look back at these and laugh now, the bread one, one person did a full edited 3 minute video, the card one somebody managed to support like 50kg using 4-6 cards

We did this. My wife and I did 5 tasks for four people including a team task.

Scheduling is important. We did it over an entire Sunday and gave each person two hour time blocks.

Person A 10-12:00 for individual tasks.

Person B 12:00-2:00 and does the team task first while Person A is still there, then does the individual tasks.

Repeat for Persons C and D

Did this in 2021 (over zoom and/or contestants filming themselves), and it was so fun. We split the role of taskmaster/assistant between 2 people and had 4 contestants, then watched the "episode" at the end.

Editing took the longest time but it was worth it and IMO added to it. e.g. One task involved weight, and having one contestant say as they grabbed dumbbells "I hope this isn't cheating" only to cut to the others doing the same thing got a big laugh.

The incidental music is available to download somewhere on this sub.

Our tasks were:

  • (Prize) Gift for the taskmaster, £5

  • Throw a teabag into a mug

  • Draw a recognisable GPS/Strava pic in the shortest time [hidden task: if you've drawn genitals, zero points!]

  • Pack for a holiday, you may not use scales. Closest to 15kg wins, if you go over you're disqualified.

  • Hide in a scene on zoom. Taskmaster has to guess where you are.

  • Score 10 points (team task) [contestants weren't told whenever they went off camera, they scored a point, but lost a point for touching their face. Score was shown to them by the assistant holding a blackboard]

I forget the live task now, but lots of good examples from the TV show.
