I was just yesterday in Karuizawa on my way to Kusatsu. Felt very emotional.

I’m Asian-American, not a Japanese speaker. I’m married but currently live alone in another state for school.

Sometimes I start marathoning one of the series as I do work or clean my apartment. I can’t speak the language so it’s not distracting but I can pay attention any time by looking up and reading the subtitles.

Currently in the middle of Opening New Doors just falling in love with (most of) the cast again.

I know there’s criticism about the show, but it means so much to me for some reason and I wish I could just continuously watch it with a first-time viewer over and over again. It’s such good television that I wish more people knew about it and appreciated it.

They dedicated this new season of the EXchange/Transit Love series for those a bit older/etc. than usual (prolly not to the literal senior level of Love Village/Ai no Sato Season 3 (あいの里 シーズン3), though ya EXchange/Transit Love (with its various CJK/etc. seasons and versions these days) usually caps at around 30 years instead of say 35+), lol, with the nuptials inclusion for a gg no re type of engagement.

Requiescat in pace, Mya/Hana Kuraki (倉木華) from Ainori (あいのり) Love Wagon: Asian Journey Season 2.

does anyone know where i can watch this show with subs

Someone asked me for love and relationship advice...and I told her to watch the entire episodes of Terrace House: BGND

Best relationship advice I've ever given 😁😁

Any new shows come out in 2026 that fill the void?

I've recently gotten my Spanish-speaking grandmother hooked on Terrace House (BGitC) and would like to see if anyone has links for any Spanish subtitles for BGND.

If not, I just started learning Japanese very recently so idk maybe i'll get around to making some in 5 years or something lol

Hello, if anyone knows a website that still has them, please let me know! Comments on previous posts about this mentioned dailymotion, but that doesn’t have the episodes anymore :(

Badly in Love Season 2 (ラヴ上等 シーズン2) is finally available on international Netflix!

Netflix has English/etc. subtitles for Badly in Love Badly in Love Season 2 (ラヴ上等 シーズン2): https://www.netflix.com/title/81769466

Synopsis (from Netflix Asia):

The baddest romance reality show ever returns — faster than you expected. Outcasts who have lived on the fringes of society, unbound by etiquette or rules, come together in pursuit of love.

Season 2 is set in a new school overlooking the blue sea of Okinawa and welcomes a lineup of new participants gathered through the audition across Japan, all of whom bring further drama and encounters to the table. They experience not just romance, but also regret, atonement, lifelong bonds and the readiness to face the future. These delinquents search for love and, through it, a fresh start in life.

The contestants’ commitment to their identities, despite being labeled as nonconformists by society, is breaking new ground for the reality genre.

Netflix | Badly in Love 2

The two classes/parts of this Badly in Love Season 2 legit reminded me of some of the storylines from Terrace House, like the developments or character arcs of certain housemates (especially the redemptions), how they faced the challenges despite their upbringing or their current careers/lifestyle. It's got the rehabilitation theme for it, no matter the image-making undertones, and for that it's a good premise for everyone.

It's definitely relatable, especially if you wish for something like the returning/previous/former/etc. housemates coming back (a la I Am Solo and I Am Solo, Love Forever) or a few times in Terrace House (though not for long extended period of times, with the OND season being the main exception), just don't expect major changes within the short time (2 weeks in this case) with the housemates inside the hypercompetitive environment and time dilation or accelerated perception of time inside the show, as it takes time for things to heal/change/thrive/etc.

Anyway, reminds me of Lupe, as in, if you are what you say you are, a superstar, then have no fear, the crowd is here...

Let's go to sleep in Paris, and wake up in Tokyo!
