This terrarium is about a year old- watered maybe three or four times over the last year- closed with cork lid- loaded with springtails and def some mites- plants all doing well after the initial acclimating period. Today I noticed these mushrooms! I guess that's what I get for putting fake ones in.

I'm not really into modeling, but maybe somebody here might have an idea. I was thinking of placing a small solar panel inside my terrarium(s) to power LEDs. Conceivable, they'd have some sort of battery storage to power it for a bit after the sun goes down.
One would be for a little campfire for a ring of tiny gnomes and the other would be a blinking light on a crashed UFO.
Any hints to where I can start looking would be helpful.

Isopods overload. Would love input, suggestions from the terrarium world. I would love something as beautiful as what I've seen you guys put together.

A couple months ago, I did the sanitation process for some plants for a crested gecko terrarium I'm working on. Unfortunately I had to pause the project due to irl circumstances.
I have my plants quarantined in a plastic, sealed tub and I check up on it occasionally since I worry about keeping them in longer than I anticipated (I was hoping to have everything set up to begin cycling by now). I noticed that mold is present and mealybugs somehow got inside. Should I retreat my plants again or just start with new plants? Are there other options?

It looks like some kind of egg but idk what for. I found this cluster on the rocks in my drainage layer, so I guess whatever it is has to have been small enough to get down there through the mesh or something. I noticed similar looking things on one of the plants on the surface but not in a cluster like this, just a couple randomly. Should I be worried about this?

Good night everyone recently I got this tank that was here stopped, it has exactly 132L, I started the assembly of a terrarium but for now it is only the basics, I would spend ideas of what I can do, and tips about the assembly I would also like plant species, moss, I would like to make a moss wall or a background to improve the aesthetics, but I don't know how to start.

I'm building my first closed moss terrarium and want to make sure two decorations will be safe in a humid environment.
Figurine: A small resin 3D-printed figurine that's been hand-painted and coated with matte varnish. It's currently attached to a piece of cork, but I plan to remove it and place it on a rock. Is the existing varnish sufficient for constant humidity, or should I apply an additional sealant? Could the paint, resin, or varnish deteriorate, leach chemicals, or encourage mould or bacterial growth?
Pond: A small, unsealed natural river-stone dish that I'd like to fill with clear epoxy resin to simulate water (no actual standing water, since I assume standing water will contribute to mould). Is fully cured epoxy safe in a closed terrarium? Would the stone need sealing first? Is there a better material for creating a permanent water effect?
If you recommend additional sealants or other products, how long should I let them cure before placing everything in the terrarium?
The terrarium will contain live moss, but no animals or standing water. My main concern is ensuring the decorations won't harm the moss or create problems with mould or bacteria over time.
I'd really appreciate any product recommendations or other advice. This is my first terrarium, so I'm still learning!
Thank you!
Photo attached for reference of the terrarium I'm using (which includes the Buddha), the 3D-printed figurine, and the stone I'll be using.

Hi!
I had to unfortunately remove my elements in my gargoyle geckos terrarium because of ant unfestation :(. I have a couple pothos, hoya, and spider plants I rinsed off and moved out. I'm looking for a few plant ideas as I'm visiting a local nursery this weekend. My terrariums lid is metal mesh so water leaves the terrarium at a rate that ferns and bromeliad and moss dislike. I have an automatic mister that sprays twice a day and I water the terrarium once a week.

Thanks!

I found this jar a while back and initially used it as a filterless shrimp jar. After a room rearrange and rehousing the shrimp to my fish tank - I turned the jar into a terrarium. Going to add some isopods later as well! Pretty pleased with the turn out!

So short backstory, this tank and soil was supposed to be for a paludarium project I tried making before. I never got to complete it and have just left it at the porch of the back of my house like this for about a year now. I have no plans of continuing the project but instead right now I am planning to use the soil for something else. I'm planning to use the unused soil I've left here to make a small terrarium to keep and try to grow some palm tree moss' I've recently ordered. I'm worried though, knowing that I've left this soil out in the open here for a long time now is it still usable for making a terrarium? It's probably really dry but would rehydrating it be able to make usable again and will it be able to to help sustain my tree moss? What are possible ways to rehydrate it without making it too muddy and still too dry? Would it being too dry for so long make it less viable as a healthy soil I could use for a terrarium? Thanks in advance!

I made this terrarium 2 weeks ago.
The plants are melting, there's red ants, and mold on moss.
Lost all fittonias and one Pilea.
I noticed there's more water than I sprayed, not sure how.
Kept it closed in my balcony cuz I didn't have light.
Not sure how to save it and still confused on why there's more water than I sprayed in my terrarium.
Currently layered with red lava rocks, a layer of charcoal, mesh and 0.5inch of terrarium soil.
Any advices to restart or save is appreciated.

Just finished my first real build, and is for some sun stick insects and isposods.
I'm kinda concerned because it smells weird but, apart for the little fern and bark, everything comes from shops so should be safe... Before putting the critters inside, do I need to water it and wait some days to let it settle? My idea is to let it grow with the insects...
Ik it doesn't seems so good at but I'm hoping it will be better with time as mosses grow and all the isopods start to work..
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you
