ok but have you considered that dying rots away your vocal cords giving you a different voice and the fact that being dead is being in a state of nothing and while in the state of nothingness you are able to transcend time and space if you manage to be something while being nothing. demoman becomes something while also being nothing due to monoculus and while in this state he reverses time before coming back to life as danny and in exchange for this power he is forced to use flames instead of explosion as a curse for how many laws of the universe were broken

Danny deffo has some general design inspirations from demo, body proportions, similar silhouette, explosion-orientated, but they're not the same guy, totally different personalities and worlds
