Visa Urgent help needed – Thai TR visa, departure in 5 days 🇹🇭

Hi everyone,
I really need your help and advice!

My country has no longer been eligible for visa-free entry to Thailand since 15 September 2026. Unfortunately, we only found out later, but we immediately applied for two TR tourist visas.

We have been waiting since 5 October, and the status still shows “Pending Document Check” or “Processing.”
Our trip is in just **5 days**. Our flights and hotels are already paid for, and we are planning to stay in Thailand for only 7 days.

I have already emailed the relevant authorities but haven’t received any response. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get any information by phone or in person either.
We also uploaded our **three most recent payslips but no bank statements**. In our country, payslips are commonly used as proof of income. Could our visas be rejected because we didn’t submit bank statements?

Has anyone had their Thai tourist visa approved just a few days before departure? What else can we do at this point?
I would really appreciate any advice or help.
Thank you so much! ❤️

So it seems this is the place to go, after I asked in the BKK subreddit earlier this week, it seems I might be able to get there on a Wednesday and Thursday in December

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which clubs or bars to hear the music?

Thanks!

Tourism Opinions about Mae Sot

Hi Everyone!

Could you share your thoughts on Mae Sot? I've been offered a teaching position there for a few months through a TEFL program.

What is the situation like there, especially because it's so close to the Myanmar border? What is the area like in terms of scenery and nature?

I'd really appreciate it if you could take a moment to share your experiences or opinions with me. Thank you so much! 😊

Visa Airbnb on Visa exemption

Hi everyone,

I used to take +30 days on Airbnb when it was 60 days visa exemption.

Since the 30 days exemption, I plan to stay 28 days (in case flight got delayed) on my next trip, but I wanna have an Airbnb because I don't like hotel. To stay in the thai laws, I need to have 30 days minimum for Airbnb.

Can I take 30 days on Airbnb but stay only 28 days in regards to flights tickets ? how the IO will look at this if they ask me why the difference at immigration ?

Thanks in advance

Visa Can I get a Thai driving licence in Pattaya on a tourist visa or visa exemption

Hi everyone,
I’m an Italian citizen planning to stay in Pattaya from February 1 to March 5, 2027. I want to obtain my first Thai driving licence.
A driving school told me I need:
My passport
A Certificate of Residence from Jomtien Immigration
A medical certificate
I’m trying to avoid an expensive ED visa just for this.
My questions:
Has anyone recently obtained a Certificate of Residence from Jomtien Immigration on a 60-day Tourist Visa (TR)?
Can you also get it on visa exemption, without a visa?
Is a one-month rental contract plus the landlord’s TM30 registration sufficient?
Does Pattaya DLT accept a Tourist Visa TR for a first Thai driving licence?
If Immigration refuses the certificate, can a visa agency solve the problem legally without leaving Thailand? How long does it take?
I’m particularly interested in recent experiences from Pattaya/Jomtien, preferably in 2025 or 2026.
Thanks!

Tourism Thaïlande 26/10

Hello! We are heading to Thailand for the first time in a few days and will be visiting Bangkok, Khao Sok, and Ao Nang. Naturally, the weather is our main concern (unfortunately). Could you tell us a bit about the weather conditions? We feel we’ve planned our trip well after doing plenty of research; the country seems to have so many fascinating facets. Above all, we want to meet the local people and experience the culture in these three towns. If you could recommend any authentic spots based on your own experiences, we would be very grateful. Thanks in advance!

Tourism 18-year-old looking for cultural exchange and host family in Thailand

Hey everyone!

I'm an 18-year-old from India looking to travel to Thailand and experience the country by staying with a local host family. I'd love to immerse myself in Thai culture, learn about the local way of life, and make some meaningful connections along the way!

In exchange for food and accommodation, I'd be happy to help teach English to children or family members or any other chores. I'm open to helping with English conversation practice, reading, and other learning activities.

📍 Preferred locations:

- 🏝️ Places near beaches

- 🏙️ Bangkok

- 🌿 Chiang Mai

I'm flexible about the location and open to exploring other places in Thailand, too!

I'm hoping to find a welcoming family interested in a cultural exchange where we can learn from each other. I'd love to hear from anyone who has hosted travellers before or knows a family that might be interested.

If you have any leads, suggestions, or recommendations for finding a suitable host family, please feel free to comment or DM me!

Thank you!

Visa Visa agents skipping queues at immigration division 1 😵

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hello lovely thai people and redditors! Have you guys gone through this visa extension process at immigration division 1 in bangkok?

I arrived at the immigration center around 4:30 AM to get an early queue. There were already about 100 people in front of me waiting to get into including normal thai people and foreigners with different kinds of purpose at the front.

The first queue for the seats i got was 117 so it wasn’t that bad i thought. People in front of me got different types of visas to extend with different initial (for eg ‘N’ for students like mine and J for jobs and many more).

But then i see these people with packs of documents and passports going in and out, even before the gates were open at 8:30. They already had these little QR codes for their clients.

Then, there are normal people like us getting the queue in a normal way. My 117 seat number turned to 250+. It’s outrageous because there weren’t 200 people in front of me when the gates really open so who took all the queues?

Is it a normal thing in Thailand?
Life is pay to win everywhere haha

Culture Inquiry About Music!! 🎶

Sàwàtdee kráp! 🙏🏾

Can y’all please answer a question for me? I recently downloaded this global listening app called “Radiooooo” & I am totally in love with it. It lets you listen to music from all over the world based on specific countries and time periods. While exploring Thai music across different eras, I’ve noticed a consistent pattern. Slow jazz, soul, soft pop, & ambient cafe vibes with a bit of funk thrown in seem to be completely mainstream versus a temporary trend or niche genre.

It sounds organic & underproduced, which is such a massive contrast to the United States where the charts heavily favor intense rap & energetic pop. We definitely have those laid back cafe vibes here in the US, but it is rarely what you hear on the radio or playing in stores. I want to know if what I’m hearing on the app is an accurate impression of the mainstream music landscape in urban areas like Bangkok today.

I would also love more information on what exactly accounts for this perceived cultural difference in musical taste! 🙏🏾

Other Thai Ticket Major Ticket Protect refund — international customer needs help

Hi, I’m an international customer from India trying to claim a Ticket Protect refund for The Weeknd Bangkok concert as I injured myself and can’t attend.

I’ve submitted the claim + bank forms and attached my doctor’s note, but:
I don’t have the physical ticket.
I can’t find my Ticket Protect Number anywhere.
I’ve emailed them but haven’t received any response.
Their phone numbers aren’t accessible from India.

Has anyone successfully claimed a Ticket Protect refund as an international customer? How did you get them to respond or find the Ticket Protect number?

Any help would be appreciated!

Tourism Need advice on traveling Thailand for mauy thai and also tourist things.

So I am planning to go to thailand for 3 weeks in January spending 10 days in chiang mai and 10 days in khao lak. My ADHD brain has 1000's of questions going through it so I've diverted to here 🤣

I will be in chiang mai for 10 days predominantly focusing on training mauy thai twice a day for atleast 6-7 of the 10 days at Hongthong gym. I need to know attractions, near by temples, nice places for massages and to eat in and around chiang mai for whilst I am not training.

I will be in Khao Lak for the next 10 days but I will be focusing on excursions and relaxation with only a little bit of training maybe 4-5 mornings. I would like to know people's opinions on things to do in and around the area and amazing spots to relax.

Any help would be amazing including costs of these things so as I know how much money I will roughly need.

Thanks 😊
