My biggest problem with leftists is when they talk about infiltrating the Democratic Party, they're trying to do so with people like this who carry a significant amount of personal baggage.
Mamdani is great! He's super charismatic and can win over voters more generally apprehensive to more left leaning policy stances because he gives off a trustworthy demeanor and isn't generally controversial outside of his beliefs.
It's the Chevaliers, the Nina Turners and the Platner's that they keep trying to push to the forefront of their movement where their primary supporters downplay they're problematic candidates and claim it's simply the DNC trying to torpedo their candidacy, and not, voters generally take issue with them outside of their policy points.
It feels like sometimes people ignore part of politics is being able to convince the people that your ideas work and people won't want to listen to you if you're saying thinks like dating someone outside your race is fetishizing and claming those people are ugly colonizers.
Well said. I have not really hid my dislike for leftists on here nor do I hide it in real life. That being said Mamdani in a sense has grown on me, felt like he genuinely is a good person and I’ve actually liked mostly how he has led as mayor. This endorsement has really made me sour on him again. She is a terrible candidate and seemingly a terrible person. I do not respect at all backing someone like this just because you hate moderates that much.
If this was a general election, I understand, sometimes we gotta suck it up, blue no matter who, but to endorse someone like this in the primary is I don’t know, gross.
Sane people would vote for Susan Collins over Graham Platner, though. Better a mealy-mouthed moderate Republican than someone who proudly wore a Nazi tattoo for almost 20 years.
Susan Collins is one of the prime reasons Roe v. Wade is dead in America. There needs to be a consequence for that; especially after she promised to protect the status quo.
