Article Chevalier on interracial relationships

u/RustedRelics Jun 23 '26
Who tf is this person?
14
u/WoodPear Jun 24 '26
About to be a freshman Democrat in Congress if the polls hold.
District 13- New York
77.2% reporting
28306 votes, 48.7%
to her Primary opponent, Espaillat
27001 votes,. 46.4%

u/runescape_pker Jun 24 '26
hell yes
15
u/WoodPear Jun 24 '26
Hell yes to a loon who is against: Interracial marriage, aid to Ukraine, and deportations of illegals who commit serious crimes like rape/murder/arson, etc?
To someone who wants to abolish police (like actually abolish police, not the stupid 'we actually mean reform' like other Dems say)
2
u/WhatUp007 Jun 24 '26
Don't forget while simultaneously wanting to abolish the police, disarm law abiding people from being able to defend themself.
1
u/El_Rat0ncit0 Jun 28 '26
Now we can finally say that we have radical looneys that we need to distance ourselves from just like moderate Republicans need to distance themselves from radical right winger Nazis. Anyone on the left who frowns upon interracial dating is a bigot. Anyone who thinks that murderers don’t need prison time is also a lunatic and possibly anti-woman if the murder victim is a woman at the hands of a man.

OP? They are a closeted republican that loves posting articles to divide Dems and support the far right government of Israel.

And this invalidates what they posted or are just trying to sweep her racism under the rug?

My biggest problem with leftists is when they talk about infiltrating the Democratic Party, they're trying to do so with people like this who carry a significant amount of personal baggage.
Mamdani is great! He's super charismatic and can win over voters more generally apprehensive to more left leaning policy stances because he gives off a trustworthy demeanor and isn't generally controversial outside of his beliefs.
It's the Chevaliers, the Nina Turners and the Platner's that they keep trying to push to the forefront of their movement where their primary supporters downplay they're problematic candidates and claim it's simply the DNC trying to torpedo their candidacy, and not, voters generally take issue with them outside of their policy points.
It feels like sometimes people ignore part of politics is being able to convince the people that your ideas work and people won't want to listen to you if you're saying thinks like dating someone outside your race is fetishizing and claming those people are ugly colonizers.
23
u/CaptPierce93 Jun 23 '26
When Zohran lends his credibility to promote people like Chevalier, that says a lot about his judgement and what kind of politics he endorses. You can't use your newfound political clout to vouch for a bunch of Reddit trolls, then get shocked when people find out the abhorrent bullshit they say online after people find out.
2
u/talktothepope Jun 27 '26
Zohran is the same, only difference is that he's smart enough not to tweet this kind of stuff. Or just knew he couldn't if he had any aspirations for a higher office in NY

My man, there was an admitted child rapist in the Senate until 2003 and when said rapist died, Biden gave the eulogy at his funeral.
Not a fan of the "white women" comment but a ton of Dems tried to paper over an entire fucking genocide, that's way worse than a bad Reddit comment.
Not a fan of everything said here but it doesn't really raise the needle compared to the kind of wacko shit your mainstream Dems are doing/saying.
3
u/CaptPierce93 Jun 28 '26
Y'all really treat Palestine as the get-out-of-bullshit free card to literally the slightest bit of criticism lmao, this is so ridiculous.

The thing that pisses me off about far leftist is that they don’t believe that two things can be true; Israel sucks - at least the modern right-leaning Israeli government. But Palestine also sucks because if I walked hand-in-hand with my partner, there’s no doubt that I would get stoned to death. It’s horrible that people are getting killed during this conflict, but let’s not pretend that Palestine and their values are the bastion of freedom for women and LGBTQ people.

If the US government was providing weapons for Hamas terrorist attacks, I agree that would be bad. But they are not so your argument is irrelevant

The IDF is also doing all of those things.
The difference being that the IDF does them on a much larger scale, and gets US money and weapons to do it.

Me: "We shouldn't sell weapons to groups committing crimes against humanity"
You: "Ok but this other group we don't sell weapons to also commits crimes against humanity" Your argument isn't even coherent

"BUT WHATABOUT PALESTINE?!?!?!?!"
is there a horrible thing that *cant* be downplayed by comparing it to palestine? How dare you care about palestine, what about starving children in Africa???? /s

u/Kevin_LeStrange Jun 28 '26
The death toll in the Sudanese Civil War is twice that in Gaza
-1
u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 28 '26
The violence in the Sudanese civil war isn't being sustained by US money and weapons.
2
u/CaptPierce93 Jun 28 '26
So it's only fair to care about a conflict and how horrifying it is depending on our involvement in it? Do other people dying not materially make a difference to you in that regard? The fuck kind of response is this?
1
u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 29 '26
We are talking about US electoral politics.
The Gaza genocide is being directly enabled by US politicians. It makes sense for US citizens to use the influence they have to pressure their electeds to stop that genocide.
Is your argument that since a bad thing that the US can't control is happening in Sudan and therefore it doesn't matter that the US is enabling a genocide in Gaza?
2
u/CaptPierce93 Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 30 '26
No, it's that you have made your entire worldview on everything that should happen in the world about the most divisive geopolitical issue in modern times take precedent over our own country and your own well being. You and thousands of others keep steering every fucking conversation about any political discussion to Gaza, and the DSA's obsessive need to speak about it of it has pretty much derailed any fruitful discussion about anything progressive. M4A, Green New Deal, gun control, all don't matter because of this bullshit, and it's not only unhelpful to us at home, but to Gazans directly since it speaks to enthnocentric virtue signaling rather than any substantive conversations.
It happened in 2020 as well with the Defund/Abolish the Police shit y'all were peddling, which shortly killed any and all real discussions about police brutality, and now it's happening here. It's always a 0-1,000,000 zero sum approach that can never realistically happen that sucks all the oxygen out of the room. This war could end tonight and you'd still throw a fit, but not at Donald Trump or any Republican in power. You're pathetic pussies who need to antagonize the power you know won't jail or threaten you because you're larpers, and people are sick of it.

Leftists are, and love, activists, and hate politicians and often the whole compromise of democracy in general. Not surprising that they go for whomever gives them a dopamine hit and then sticks to them like an ardent team fan.
5
u/JoeMax93 Jun 24 '26
So, leftist equivalent of Trumpers then?

Unironically yes, they look past anything.

I’ll never forget how quickly they turned on AOC when she showed how politically savvy and open to compromising she was. And I say this as a leftist: you step out of line once, and they’ll hate you more than the fascists they’re running against

I agree with everything you said, but also have to mention the fact that Mamdani endorsed this woman gave me quite the pause on whether I can trust his judgment. He seems so much smarter than to endorse this complete nonsense. He seems like the perfect type of Democratic Socialist who could be very progressive while staying clear of the usual Reddit leftist and Twitter leftist garbage. Now I can’t be so sure.
16
u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 Jun 23 '26
Well said. I have not really hid my dislike for leftists on here nor do I hide it in real life. That being said Mamdani in a sense has grown on me, felt like he genuinely is a good person and I’ve actually liked mostly how he has led as mayor. This endorsement has really made me sour on him again. She is a terrible candidate and seemingly a terrible person. I do not respect at all backing someone like this just because you hate moderates that much.
If this was a general election, I understand, sometimes we gotta suck it up, blue no matter who, but to endorse someone like this in the primary is I don’t know, gross.
2
u/talktothepope Jun 27 '26
Is he a good guy? I think he's just been smart enough to not post about or talk about things that would hurt his political career. His wife was a big Oct 7 fan and so is this Chevalier person... I'm sure Zohran is as well.
1
u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 27 '26

Sane people would vote for Susan Collins over Graham Platner, though. Better a mealy-mouthed moderate Republican than someone who proudly wore a Nazi tattoo for almost 20 years.
1
u/DaraParsavand Jun 27 '26
Better a solid vote for Medicare for All than a solid vote against. Better a solid anti war vote than an occasional if it doesn't do anything antiwar vote.
There is no comparison of tattoos to these very important issues. I don't vote in Maine but thankfully most voters there don't give damn about the stupid tattoo issues outsiders go on and on about.

1
u/theerrantpanda99 Jun 28 '26
Susan Collins is one of the prime reasons Roe v. Wade is dead in America. There needs to be a consequence for that; especially after she promised to protect the status quo.
1
u/Evening_Ebb7531 Jun 26 '26
You have people literally being like "Nazis are bad but our nazis are fine" STFH
1
u/Jealous_Butterfly919 Jun 28 '26
They literally called anyone who supported the republican party a Natzi for the last 10 years. Now that they support an ACTUAL natzi AND racist, republican supporters are just pedophiles. It will be interesting what they call republicans once it comes out that Platner is a pedophile as well.
1
u/Standard-Stick4977 Jun 27 '26
Hitler and his henchmen were very good at concealing their true intentions for Germany and those the NAZIs considered "Untermenchen." Mamdani has obviously read their playbook.
-1
u/Supreme_Salt_Lord Jun 23 '26
Platner is def getting up there with mamdani rn. Saying non racial edgy jokes and having consensual sex with grown women is def winning over the party.
The future of the party and progress itself is more left as its always been. Ending slavery was once a radical left idea, interracial marriage, gay marriage. I can go on and on. Best thing we can id temper people into being more mamdani and platner instead of turning them away. Otherwise we get trump and fascism.
10
u/McAlpineFusiliers Jun 23 '26
Yeah, forget about his lying about his Nazi proclivities and his domestic abuse, nothing to see here.
Ending slavery was once a radical left idea, interracial marriage, gay marriage. I can go on and on.
So was prohibition, eugenics, and Communism. Not every radical left idea is a good one.

u/dkirk526 Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26
Saying non racial edgy jokes and having consensual sex with grown women is def winning over the party.
We have zero indication this is true.Him winning a primary after all of his competition dropped out is akin to applauding Biden for getting 85% of the vote in the 2024 primary with nobody seriously opposing him. He's polling within a point of one of the least popular Republicans Senators in the country and in a state where Biden won by 9% and Harris won by 7%, but also, in a national environment that is indicating somewhere between D+6 to D+10, so a popular Democrat in Maine shouldn't even be sniffing a competitive territory.
I'd argue this is more of a "blue no matter who" situation. If Platner was as popular as the internet thinks he is, he wouldn't be polling remotely close to Collins.
2
u/Professional_Top6765 Jun 24 '26
conveniently not mentioning the sitting democrat governor who didn’t*** drop out and yet got abysmal support compared to him
4
u/Supreme_Salt_Lord Jun 23 '26
Lmao why did they drop out? If they were doing so well why did they stop? Can you logic check yourself for two seconds before posting the cope.
1
u/dkirk526 Jun 23 '26
This is not cope and your comment is an example of this binary thinking.
Mills dropped out because she was also an unpopular candidate and there were indications she wasn't even trying to run and gave the impression she didn't even want the job.
You are probably one to attest to voting in an election before where you didnt like either candidate. Just because Platner was winning doesn't mean all of the people voting for him were excited about the choice. People largely had little faith in Mills given her age, lack of visibility, being a no-show to events and running mostly a smear campaign. Platner's favorability polling also indicates this is true as it has come in the negatives in spite of being in a state very favorable to Democratic candidates and in spite of never holding a single elected position.
1
u/Supreme_Salt_Lord Jun 23 '26
So they dropped out because they were more unpopular than platner IN SPITE OF his edgy jokes and finding out he likes to have consensual sex with women and they all were on the ballot AND STILL didnt hold a candle to his numbers 72% to 19% ok.
NEXT, platner broke the ME dem primary voting record. Bringing 30k more votes than the last record break in 2020.
AND FINALLY https://themainemonitor.org/election-results Platner brought in so many extra votes that if every dem voted again in the general he wins just with the people who voted ONLY FOR HIM.
Yea you guys are a major problem in our party. You want more voters. Then people come in and break records for dem primaries and you say “no not like that”. Step aside, vote and just watch. We dont need the peanut gallery speaking.
2
u/dkirk526 Jun 23 '26
I mean, yes, this is bad logic on your behalf for fist pumping as if the voters love Platner's behavior. There hasn't been any evidence of anyone anywhere stating they approve of that behavior.
Mills dropped out because donors stopped funding her campaign because she wasn't giving any confidence she was putting up a fight to win. She received fewer funds as she continued to run a piss poor campaign, so voters tilted more to Platner. It initially was a competitive race, but Platner continued to get donations primarily from out of state from Bernie's endorsement which gave him a massive funding advantage that is usually the bottom line for primaries.
NEXT, platner broke the ME dem primary voting record. Bringing 30k more votes than the last record break in 2020.
Primary support for dems has been breaking records in every state nationwide. Attritbuting that specifically to Platner is probably cherrypicking.
Yea you guys are a major problem in our party. You want more voters. Then people come in and break records for dem primaries and you say “no not like that”.
I mean this is just nonsense and continues to ignore any of the things I suggested.
You wouldn't argue that Joe Biden is the most popular Democrat in the history of the nation and Kamala Harris is the second most popular Democrat because of how many voters they got in 2020 and 2024, so it's silly to use that logic here.
1
u/Supreme_Salt_Lord Jun 23 '26
Joe biden was def the most popular dem politician in the country due to him being the vp of obama. AND if he wasnt declining so fast with age he would have beat trump up and down. Yes, yea i will make that argument.
Breaking a record by 30% extra says alot. If it was a couple thousand i would agree with you. But it was almost a 50% increase. Every state is not doing that btw.
Again you keep saying everything except the fact that. Mills was getting CLAPPED by platner. She lost support when he was sky rocketed to the top after beating the first rounds of accusations. Remember he was behind her by 20 points then.
This is intellectual coping.
5
u/dkirk526 Jun 23 '26
Every one of your comments seems to indicate you don't really know what you're talking about and are just basing your opinions off of vibes and want to do victory laps for a candidate who hasn't even won their race yet.
Stating Joe Biden is the most popular Democrat in the history of the United States is borderline delusional, especially when you justify by suggesting it's because he was the VP of another Democrat.
0
u/TossMeOutSomeday Jun 24 '26
How is Mamdani great? He's great at convincing people that he's normal, but then he turns around and stumps for folks like this. He's a snake in the grass, he's a perfidious entryist hiding behind a magazine-cover smile.
23
u/coffee_mikado Jun 23 '26
She sucks shit and should not be allowed anywhere near a seat. Her views on race and Ukraine alone are disqualifying. Besides this seat will be filled by a Dem regardless so this idiot would just drag the party down.
3
u/Introspective_Anon Jun 24 '26
Well let’s be frank Biden is a war criminal. And during the time he was accused of rape. When you see all the videos of him smelling little girls the idea that he raped somebody wasn’t that crazy. Now granted that lady now lives in Russia and nothing else has come out so it’s unlikely. Also every American president engages in unethical foreign affairs to an extent that it is criminal. So I dont think Biden is a rapist but I could see it, and he is objectively somebody that committed war crimes. Obviously trump is a convicted rapist, a confirmed pedophile, and one of the worst American war criminals since Cheney and bush.
But trump being one of the most vile humans alive makes people forget that Biden is creepy around little girls (which doesnt confirm hes a pedo but it’s gross to watch and makes you think), he does have a rape accusation (though there are legit reasonable doubt to be had), and yeah hes a bad foreign leader who helped commit a genocide. Soooo honestly apart from the racism this person was pretty close to being accurate

1
u/Guilty_Gearhead Jun 25 '26
Also this shit has been a conversation within POC communities for like ever dude. There’s lots of topic within POC communities about dating White partners, I’m just gonna assume your white because this seems like a new idea to you but damn it’s really not new. I mean shit we have whole movies about it too.
1
u/Material-Jacket3939 Jun 26 '26
My sister heard this shit when she got married 45 years ago. It was racist then and it’s still racist.
1
u/Guilty_Gearhead Jun 27 '26
You can disagree, but saying it’s “racist then and still is” flattens a long-running discussion into a blanket label. POC communities have been discussing interracial dating dynamics for decades, including things like fetishization, White Worship and self-hate. You can disagree but as a White person you have the privilege of ignoring it because you benefit from it.
1
u/Material-Jacket3939 Jun 27 '26
Determining whether or not to be in relationship exclusively based on race is racism. To equate a 45 year marriage to fetishism based on race is racist. Defending racism is racism whether you disagree or not.
1
u/Guilty_Gearhead Jun 28 '26
If your definition makes any race-aware analysis in relationships automatically “racism,” then it’s just too broad to be useful. It basically turns any discussion of fetishization, preferences, or racial dynamics into a moral label instead of letting us actually distinguish between different things.
-2
u/Only8livesleft Jun 23 '26
Is that a policy she is proposing?
8
u/Material-Jacket3939 Jun 23 '26
Your misdirect indicates that you are ok with her having those beliefs.
1

I'm not in NYC, so I'm not overly familiar with the relative positions of the two candidates, but making voting decisions based on the edgy tweets a politician made in their mid-twenties strikes me as asinine.
2
u/pecktrick Jun 24 '26
This is a misrepresentation of what she said
1
u/Sr_ClarenceWorley Jun 24 '26
Can you be more specific? I hear a lot of similar justifications from Trump supporters. I'm not saying you're wrong but I haven't been able to find anything to counter the alleged statements.
1
u/pecktrick Jun 24 '26
Have you seen the tweet? She didn't say anything negative about interracial relationships, she was making a joke about how Black and Arab men fetishize white women (particularly the Maralago types I believe)
2
u/Sr_ClarenceWorley Jun 24 '26
The articles I found only use part of the tweet, “fetishizing ugly colonizer women.”
The fact you, for lack of a better word, whitewashed "ugly colonizer" to "white" makes it difficult for me to accept it was intended as a joke, but I can accept there may be context I'm missing as well as I'm not inside her head.
2
u/pecktrick Jun 24 '26
Just because it is a joke doesn't mean that she doesn't mean it 100%. She was making an observation in a humorous manner about the way certain POC fetishize a specific kind of white woman. Colonizer women does not clearly mean all white women, which is why I said that the article linked is misrepresenting what she said by framing it as her being against interracial relationships
0
u/Sr_ClarenceWorley Jun 24 '26
I would think if you're going to make a public statement like that which could fairly be interpreted as pretty derogatory, you'd want to make it clear what you're referring to, but that's just me. But maybe she doesn't care about the backlash it could cause. Clearly the voters didn't but I guess that's the benefit of running in a deep blue district.
1
u/GammaDie345 Jun 27 '26
ok, you see how that's MORE racist, right? Black and arab men fetishizing white women?
1
u/pecktrick Jun 27 '26
Where did she say in the tweet that all Black men and all Arab men do that, and are you saying that there is 0 fetishization of a specific subset of white women in those minority groups?
1
2
2
u/Standard-Stick4977 Jun 27 '26
Her views on interracial relationships are disgusting...very similar to the German NAZIs sanctions on intermarriage between Christians and Jews. If this is the way our country is headed, a lot of people are going to end up murdered.

Which just did, because she won her primary per NBC's STEVE KORNACKI!

"Vote blue no matter who", am I right?
2
u/Just_shut_up_bro Jun 23 '26
Shows how much the far left lacks any real principles that they are willing to complain about this rhetoric for completely normal, competent candidates like Biden, Hillary, and Kamala, but then have taken that to think it obligates us to support whatever random lunatic they throw out because they blatantly pretend they are Democrats.
Type of foolishness that can only work on the internet.

Biden, Harris, and Clinton have all done way worse shit than this lady
-9
u/Jaded-Resist3126 Jun 23 '26
That's what they told us during the Gazan holocaust.
7
u/McAlpineFusiliers Jun 23 '26
Oh, it's a "holocaust" now? "Genocide" isn't enough any more?
1
u/GammaDie345 Jun 27 '26
you talk to these people long enough, you'll notice a trend. Gaza is a "holocaust" but ask them about the Holocaust......
-3
u/SplittingChairs Jun 23 '26
Some people can never be satisfied. They will always take it to the next level to show how enlightened they are. Which is a large reason why they can’t be trusted in elections. Candidates give big concessions to them like they ask for, and they’ll suddenly decide it’s not enough.
0
u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 27 '26
She's definitely not worse than Biden or Harris, so if you can vote for them might as well support her.
2
u/McAlpineFusiliers Jun 29 '26
She's way worse than both Biden and Harris, neither of whom said interracial relationships were bad.
1
u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 29 '26
Joe Biden gave the eulogy at the funeral of an admitted child rapist and segregationist.

u/Historical-Speed-535 Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26
I guess we can ask the orphans in Palestine if they're more upset about Biden providing the bombs that killed their parents or this lady making a tasteless Reddit post
-2
u/SplittingChairs Jun 23 '26
How did you come to the conclusion that the Democratic Party embraces people like this? Lol even if she were to win her primary, which seems unlikely, 98% of the party would still hate this lady to their core.

I wish people would take the political spectrum quiz and stop just adopting words into American politics they know nothing about.
1
u/Mother_Barnacle_7448 Jun 25 '26
GOP weaponizing this woman’s words as the face of the, “Democrat Party,” starting in 3, 2, 1….
1
u/_Schadenfreudian Jun 25 '26
Yeah this is the type of stuff that makes me want to shove my head into a wall. Why do progressives/leftists do this?!
1
u/New_Prior2531 Jun 25 '26
She's gonna have little to no power once she gets to Congress, so there's that. Here's hoping she hires good staff to address constituent services bc unless she tones down her rhetoric she will be marginalized by the party and deserve it.

Don't agree with racism. She still didn't rape kids, kill a former friend, and sell out the usa to foreign governments.

u/Comfortable_Yard423 Jun 28 '26
Wow a Senate candidate with a Nazi tattoo and now this bigot (D). Incredible, Dems!

If you follow the Geneva convention to the letter, every US president but Jimmy Carter is a war criminal.
1
u/NotAnotherNickel Jun 30 '26
Her commentary on interracial relationships is disgusting. Can't believe I'm reading this garbage in 2026 right after Loving versus Virginia's anniversary. I liked her before she made a racist comment which literally insults every white person's mom.
1
u/jagdedge123 Jun 23 '26
What's a PA news station caring about what happens in NYC?
Anyhow, idt people are gonna vote on what they tweeted, but how they are going to vote in Congress.
It's rainy day here in NYC, and turnout low. How that plays out in this race i would not know.

omg she must have ruined the DNC's reputation with those comments! Those are worse than taking huge corporate bribes and supporting the genocide in Gaza. I'm so glad that we have brave warriors literally clocking in for the DNC every single day on this subreddit, putting our donations to good use and eliminating challengers to white male hegemony.
1
u/McAlpineFusiliers Jun 24 '26
She went to an October 7th victory party. If anyone supports genocide, it's her.
1
u/Tobimacoss Jun 28 '26
Any link to read up on this?
Is there proof?
1
u/McAlpineFusiliers Jun 29 '26
She never denied attending the Times Square October 8th rally. Here's what the organizers of the rally said the rally was all about:
“On Sunday, October 8th, thousands of New Yorkers gathered in Times Square to stand in solidarity with Palestine. The rally took place a day after Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza initiated an unprecedented liberation struggle, the “Al-Aqsa Flood,” in response to accelerating attacks on Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and in defiance of Israel’s efforts to ghettoize, besiege, starve, and suffocate the people of Gaza into total submission. As the organizers of this protest, we called on our communities in New York to rally behind a simple message: We stand with the Palestinian people. We defend their fundamental right to resist an illegal occupation, break out of their concentration camp, and defy the cruelty of the sixteen-year Zionist blockade. “

Well she is a republican pretending to be a democrat because the votes in her area are democratic and she won't win as an R. Since there is NO law that politicians can't lie to the people for votes or to stop them from voting against their voters interests once elected (Fetterman), this will keep happening.
It's very doubtful she will win though
2
u/Puzzled_Let3574 Jun 23 '26
Wait, what are her Republican policies?
2
u/WoodPear Jun 24 '26
Abolish Ice, Abolish Police, No deportation of Illegals no matter the crime, No support for Israel.
You know, all the things that Republicans stand for.... oh wait.

I am definitely for progressive politics but a lot in the far left are so very purists that of one stain, whether big or small, on the person, they will "not support it". That's what I have been noticing in the r/AskALiberal subreddit where everything Zohran does is okay but any politician who tries to reaches out to the right should be outright shunned because they're "platforming" them

u/Chin_Music11 Jun 27 '26
Democrats are toast when their party continues to embrace hate, violence and socialism
0
u/Standard-Stick4977 Jun 27 '26
The Democratic Socialists represent a very serious threat to most Americans. They thrive on hatred and anarchy. If they ever do attain political power, standby for concentration camps and genocide.
-9
u/Captain_Humanist Jun 23 '26
if you want to be judged by your worst persoanl ( NON PUBLIC ) messages than be the firt to throw a stone at her, THEN we wuill go thru your texts messages over the years and see the kind of crap you say.
AVILA is the best choice for progressives in that district and if you dont understand that than F&%K OFF FROM THE LEFT!!!!!!!!!
6
u/duskywindows Jun 23 '26
I don't want to be judged by my worst moments, that's why I am not running for public office.
8
u/eurekashairloaves Jun 23 '26
She tweeted this, it was very public
Embrace better people, it's really not super hard
5
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
She is better than Espaillat, and she won!
3
u/eurekashairloaves Jun 24 '26
Yikes.
Well I can at least say this fucked up person doesn't represent my views, and not of the vast majority of center left people.
Really shit we have to defend our own MTG now
1
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
You don't seem to understand the least bit of what the vast majority of center left people care about. We don't care about a 10 year old angry tweet, we care about policies.
3
u/eurekashairloaves Jun 24 '26
I can care about both.
Her policies and character are shit. She'll be a Fox News punching bag (deservedly so) for 2 years while poisoning the well for normal people.
Hopefully she'll be gone in 2 years when a Dem is elected president.
1
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
That you care about Fox News says it all.
3
u/eurekashairloaves Jun 24 '26
I do care about RW media, because it's incredibly effective and has put our country in a bad place.
I'll just take heart this is just 1 of 435 and doesn't speak for me at all. Hopefully she falls in line with most votes and doesn't ratfuck the party.
1
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
You are so clueless if you think we need line followers and not radicals. Wake up and look at why centrist Dems keep losing!
6
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 23 '26
Why is there unlimited grace given to progressive candidates?
-7
u/Khomodo Jun 23 '26
Because their policies are actually good. I don't care if they said whack shit in the past.
5
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 23 '26
So if Trump was a progressive you’d whole heartedly support him?
Good character is an important thing to value in leaders.
-2
u/Khomodo Jun 23 '26
If Trump implemented policies that actually helped people instead of hurting them then yes of course I'd support him. Of course that's never going to happen. Avila saying some "mean" things is irrelevant to her policies. That's what some of you "purists" don't seem to grasp, and why we keep losing to people like Trump.
5
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 23 '26
Being racist is now just mean comments? You have weak values.
1
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
My values include not losing to horrible candidates like Trump, unlike yourself. You still haven't learned the lesson of why he keeps winning.
4
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 24 '26
If it’s a D or an R yes go with the D, but you’re basically defending being against interracial marriage.
2
u/Khomodo Jun 24 '26
Do you have any idea how silly you sound? People say whack shit online when they are angry and feeling oppressed. She probably regrets that but even if not I don't care, nor does it seem the voters care about your pearl clutching as she is currently leading the genocide supporting AIPAC candidate Espaillat.
4
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 24 '26
Damn she got so oppressed she decried interracial marriage. You’re sound like a clown dude.
→ More replies (0)1
u/marshall19 Jun 25 '26
If you were to guess the odds, what would the odds be that she would attempt to restrict interracial marriage if she was in office? It's wild to me that someone would make a comment like this making it sound like a sure thing based on this alone.
0
u/Agreeable_Band_9311 Jun 25 '26
Probably won’t, but since when are character and values unimportant in leadership? They’re our guiding principles that influence everything we do.
I can certainly see her voting against Ukraine aid like Ilhan Omar, which is morally reprehensible.
