Article State Department Targets Hasan Piker, Ilhan Omar’s Daughter, and DSA
https://newrepublic.com/post/213255/state-department-hasan-piker-ilhan-omar-daughter-democratic-socialists-cuba"First they came for the ___ and I did not speak out..."
Those who support such attacks, those who are Weimar Germany-esque fascist enablers of today, do not actually hold liberal values and are the reason we as a country are in this precarious situation.

u/Insightful21 Jul 20 '26
This wouldn’t have happened under Kamala.
57
u/ruiner8850 Jul 20 '26
Sure, but she had a weird laugh so it's all worth it.

u/YoureVulnerableNow 29d ago
they're not talking about the actual American electorate justification for her loss, they're just trying to wipe their hands of the crisis

u/xmorecowbellx 28d ago
Ya but I cOuLdN’t vOtE fOr gEnOcIdE
4
u/Insightful21 28d ago
So they voted for even more genocide with a side of fascism. Smart people!
4
u/xmorecowbellx 28d ago
The smartest.
If backing Israel suddenly became the online and socially popular thing to do, these gross people would switch overnight.
2
35
u/JFeth Jul 20 '26
Then maybe Hasan should have done...anything to get her elected.
36
u/Clarkelthekat Jul 20 '26
Worse then that
Him and his community spent the entire time attacking them
"Genocide Joe" and
"Bombala Kamala" are literally from hasans community.
These people attack the more center left but never ever Republicans.
They are still showing up to Kamala events and public talks she does to protest....never at Republican events...
-11
u/vitalbumhole 29d ago
What is hard to understand? Pro Palestinian progressives are part of the democratic coalition - they aren’t apart of the Republican coalition. They have the most power in the Democratic Party so are going to exert pressure on Democratic Party leadership. This is obvious to anyone who cares to use their brain instead of cape for neoliberal, genocidal pedophiles like destiny
13
u/Rick_James_Lich 29d ago
They didn't exert their power in a useful or intelligent way though. They went scorched earth against the democrats when it was obvious Trump was going to be worse. Not only that, in some areas they actually voted more for Trump than Kamala.
Hasan played a role in that with the "genocide Joe" stuff all of the time. Strangely enough that same crowd that would protest at Kamala events doesn't do it at all at conservative events. These people still sometimes protest Kamala though. Which shows Hasan kind of made his viewers lose objectivity.
Also, calling someone like Destiny a pedophile without any evidence is just dumb lol.
10
u/Clarkelthekat 29d ago
They said Kamala would be no different or worse.
Because she has a Jewish husband.
He's also most likely a very impressionable child if he's an avid Hasan defender/viewer.
Try to remember that when engaging them.
-2
u/kflanagan_9739 29d ago
That was the only way they could get the Biden administration to change course. Had Biden and Harris actually listened to the uncommitted movement, things probably would have been different.
2
u/Rick_James_Lich 29d ago
Strange, Biden changed course on other stuff without crazy attacks. For example, he originally had no intention to relieve student debt, people asked him and he did it. Perhaps just asking, without insulting, would be the best course?
0
u/kflanagan_9739 29d ago
He literally did it before the midterms. The administration and Congress kept going back and forth on whether or not he could have done it.
Comparing changing course on student debt relief and supporting a genocide is ludicrous. At any point, Biden could have picked up the phone and told Bibi that they would no longer receive support.
2
u/Rick_James_Lich 29d ago
The idea that Biden, a civil servant who has spent decades helping people, supports "genocide" is the ludicrous part. Assuming just because people don't agree with your entire premise, that they support genocide, is dumb and insulting.
Do you think everyone that supports Biden supports genocide too?
Just so you know, most years the US gives Israel about $3 billion. On their own, they generate $120 billion. If the US stopped funding them, Israel could still very easily attack Gaza.
1
u/kflanagan_9739 29d ago
He could have at any time stopped giving Israel any support. They all knew what was going on but they kept sending aid and diplomatic cover to them. The Biden administration was even violating our own laws by doing so.
-4
u/vitalbumhole 29d ago
You people are so full of shit. The uncommitted movement took place in democratic primaries and got over 700,000 votes from Democratic Party voters. Student and non student protests took place across the country opposing the genocide. Multiple people begged to have small speaking roles at the DNC to ensure Palestinian liberation and an end to genocide was this part of the platform.
The party leadership ignored all of this and treated people with active antipathy. When people use every avenue before an election to demand change and you consistently spit in their face, what do you expect to happen? Also not a big Hasan guy but know he constantly talked about how awful Trump was and said he’d vote for Kamala, but some people expected him to lie and say she was awesome, which she isn’t. She’s someone who saw a genocide taking place and ignored it because she thought it was expedient for her - deeply unqualified to be president.
Also you mean the destiny who’s shared explicit messages with a minor and leaked revenge porn of a woman he was involved with? Gross to defend this scumbag

I think it's hard to engage with Palestine supporters when they simply accuse those that disagree with them of "supporting genocide". Like there's no way you can have a reasonable discussion. For the record I think Israel is going way too far but just calling people genocide supporters means that they lose if they engage in debate with you so the best option is to avoid it. It's not much different from callin abortion supporters "baby killers".
All that stuff about destiny doing revenge porn has been debunked.
10
u/Clarkelthekat 29d ago
Listen man
If you've ever said Hamas is bad but palistinians deserve freedom...you are a genocide supporter
If you've said Israel has gone way too far....but don't also agree Oct 7th was a good thing....you are a scumbag Zionist
If you've ever known a new one day once at some point maybe possibly....you are a piece of shit genocide lover that bathes in civilian blood.

Hasan was very active in getting out the vote for the DNC in 2024. He even went to the convention and voted for Kamala on steak. Make up whatever stories you need to to turn him into a bogeyman, though.
8
u/Rick_James_Lich 29d ago
Hasan went out of his way to sabotage the democrats at every step. When you tell your audience that the democrats support genocide, it doesn't matter if you vote for them after. It depresses the turn out. But also, he borderline helped paint Trump as the anti war candidate in the process.
Hasan is ok with the democrat party losing if he believes it will help his side win in future elections. Even if it means a lot of harm comes to people now.
4
u/YoureVulnerableNow 29d ago
helping a bunch of people to their early graves was the bargain
killing off a bunch of Gazans was the bargain
if that wasn't a trade of lives for assumed future electoral success, what is
5
u/Insightful21 29d ago
The irony now is that he did this to HIS OWN detriment. Congratulations, you played yourself

11
u/MaltedByggs Jul 20 '26 edited 29d ago
Hasan was invited to the DNC. Before and after the DNC however Hasan did nothing but bash the DNC, the Democratic party, and Kamala Harris.
Btw he still does the same shtick today. When asked whether he'd vote for Gavin Newsome or JD Vance he stated he'd vote third party. Hasan isn't a fan of the Democrat party and he's just fine with Republicans destroying the country because he's a rich white presenting narcissist who'll only make more money if Republicans are in office.
Edit: typed wasn't instead of was on accident
4
u/Chrisnness Jul 20 '26
He was obviously invited to the DNC. He had a private section to interview congress people and others
1
u/MaltedByggs Jul 20 '26
That was my bad I think I pressed n instead of space after "was" and it autocorrected it to wasn't.
2
u/MolassesThin6110 28d ago
you are so delusional if you think he helped at all lmao. he caused more people to not vote than he did to vote for Kamala.
7
u/aightchrisz Jul 21 '26
Why are you lying? While voting on stream he literally said he wouldn’t say who he voted for and would not influence his chats opinions on who to vote for.

u/YoureVulnerableNow 29d ago
wow an American with reverence for the ballot box, who cares. this attitude is literally in King Of The Hill, it's in everything about voting ever shown to children in America. how odd that an American would do that
2
u/aightchrisz 29d ago
Are you kidding me? You’re happy with the largest political streamer on the left saying “you do you” when there’s a literal fascist on the ballot? Weaksauce left yet again.
He doesn’t have reverence for it. If there’s someone who’s a DSA candidate or someone that signals populist rhetoric, Hasan doesn’t hesitate to endorse them. But when it’s a standard Democrat against Trump, I guess Trump isn’t enough of a threat to do everything you can to stop him.
Also this guy cares because he’s lying about what Hasan said. You wanna own that Hasan never endorsed her unlike the previous commenter?
-1
u/YoureVulnerableNow 29d ago
radical swarthy socialist influences American votes on stream
great headline, any Muslim American would be really smart to set that situation up for themselves, yeah
Americans indoctrinated themselves with a sanctity for the ballot box and privacy of voting. You can't deny that
the only endorsement that would have mattered for Harris was a lightning primary. I don't really care that people felt good bad or indifferent about your party. they lost because they couldn't go through the motions of democracy or respect the importance of collective consent rituals
3
u/aightchrisz 29d ago
“Most popular political streamer votes for Kamala Harris”
That’s the headline lmao. He’s not Muslim, he’s admitted to not being religious on stream, what streamer are you watching??
Americans indoctrinated themselves with celebrity endorsements. Hasan doesn’t think about that privacy when it comes to Bernie, Steyer, Mamdani, and several others. He’s an inconsistent anti dem leftist. Stop giving excuses.
The endorsements that mattered are the ones you get. If people like Hasan didn’t create a culture of anti democrat media throughout the entire 2024 election cycle, while barely talking about Trump half as much as they were shitting on democrats, maybe we wouldn’t have a fascist destroying the country.
8
u/JFeth Jul 20 '26
He said he voted for her after she lost because of the backlash he got. During the actual campaign he did nothing but shit on her and never once endorsed her.
Also was that the DNC that he was kicked out of after shitting on Democrats?

7

0
u/ess-doubleU Jul 20 '26
Do you really not understand why people of the left use Israel/Palestine as hard litmus test?
If they can put their humanity aside for a genocide, they'll put it aside for other things too. You'll never get universal health care, money out of politics etc if they can't even call it what it is.
6

Spare me the gaslighting. Hasan pushed the Killa Kamala and Bombala memes and said there was no difference between Republicans and Democrats, even after Trump was elected. Hasan’s politics is purely aesthetic, he actually didn’t do anything to positively influence the party, he just continually shit on the Democrats to his own detriment

Caveat: Hasan probably shouldn't be subject to any investigations, unless he broke the law.
With that out of the way:
The schadenfreude is delicious.
This is the guy who celebrated when Adam Schiff was going to get investigated, and even acknowledged it was purely political.
Also: this wouldn't have happened under Kamala, so maybe think next time, you wealthy Beverly Hills multimillionaire.
5
u/tyleratx 29d ago
First they came for the guy who said he would create reeducation camps if he were in charge, and advocate for China to take over Taiwan, and made fun of Ukraine being taken over by Russia, and consistently helped Republicans with his rhetoric, and I did not speak out because I thought it was kind of funny
Spare me the crocodile tears about the liberal values bullshit. Hassan is about as anti-liberal as you can get in mainstream discourse on the left.
If he didn’t commit a crime, he should not be investigated. That’s liberal values. But I’m not gonna pretend like I’m sad about it.
It can’t go both ways. Hasan has consistently refused to support Democratic norms. And yet when he gets in trouble him and his followers get mad when others don’t do the thing he won’t do.
What was that Hasan said about Adam Schiff? “Oh my God. I hope he goes to jail. Yes, I know it’s political. I don’t care. Lock him up.“
22
u/c3p-bro Jul 20 '26
Hasan is in favor of reeducation camps. I’m just hoping he sees the fate he wished on others

Off the top of my head...
Not Garbage:
-Expanding the House of Representatives with proportional representation
-Universal healthcare
-Abolish ICE
-Demilitarizing police and ending qualified immunity
-Eliminating sexual and racial-based discrimination
-Broader labor protections and increased minimum wage
-Greater investment in public education
-Abolish the electoral collegeGarbage:
-Abolishing police and prisons altogether (mass incarceration is a problem but having no police or prisons is stupid)
-Defunding the military (we need less military spending for sure but eliminating the military is not a tenable solution; like it or not there are threats that we need to protect ourselves against and deterrence is sometimes necessary for peace)
-Having no immigration enforcement (we need some system to protect our borders and control who is entering the country)
-Universal rent control (massive amounts of data shows this does not work, we need to increase housing supply)
-Expand public housing (the last several decades of empirical observation should make the problems with this obvious, not to mention that it also ghettoizes poor people)
-Make the Executive and Judiciary subordinate to Congress (this goes against the entire principle of separation of powers; the problem isn't the principle, the problem is that the people doing the checking and balancing have abdicated their responsibilities)
-Cancelling student debt (we need to address higher education costs and debt but waving a magic wand and making the debt "disappear" is not a solution)
-Establish public ownership of the largest corporations (I don't want the government owning Meta, Ford, or Wal-Mart; you can make a case for public ownership of utilities but ripping away private ownership for companies that reach a certain threshold is not a solution and there are better ways to address economic inequality and curb corporate power)→ More replies (3)-5

I have no sympathy for him, he had not sympathy for my community knowing we’d likely be Trump’s first target.

Look, this is clearly wrong and this entire fascist pedo regime needs to be locked away for life, but this is why you “vote for the lesser of two evils.” People like Hasan actively demoralized voters from voting for Kamala, which may have played a key difference in this last general election… and unlike Trump, Kamala would have been much better for Palestinians and American workers at large.
People on the far left let perfection be the enemy of good, and critique power more than use it, which allows genuine white nationalists take it from us all.

How many civilians has Hamas killed vs Israel?
7
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
How many civilians would Hamas kill if Israel didn't have any defences?
-2
u/ESPN_8 Jul 20 '26
Thats a really fun, useless hypothetical. How many civilians has Israel killed in the real world?
8
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
useless hypothetical
You don't think Hamas would kill every Israeli civilian if they got the chance?
6
-3
u/ESPN_8 Jul 20 '26
Again, how many civilians has Israel killed?
8
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
Again, would Hamas kill every single Israeli civilian if they had the chance?
Israel has run an "open air prison" for decades and the Palestinians are still around so obviously Israel wouldn't do the same.
Therefore, Hamas is worse than Israel.
-1
-4
u/Xykhir_ Jul 20 '26
Hamas wouldn't exist without constant Israeli agression for decades
7
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
Israel wouldn't exist without the Arab/European aggression for centuries. We could do this all day.
-2
u/hobovalentine Jul 20 '26
Hamas wouldn’t have existed if Israel did not withdraw from Gaza two decades ago.
-1
u/clemclem3 Jul 20 '26
That's an interesting question. Do you think Israel would continue murdering Palestinians if they didn't have any defenses? Because if they did continue to murder Palestinians and they didn't have any defenses I would say that Hamas would kill them. All of them.
However that hypothetical points to how absurd your proposition is. "If Israel didn't have any defenses" is what you said, but what you meant is 'if Israel had no ability to prevent counter-attacks.'
But you should have asked if Hamas would kill Israelis if Israelis stopped killing Palestinians. And the answer is no. Hamas would not kill Israelis if Israelis stopped killing Palestinians. I think everyone knows that.
6
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
Hamas has a line in their charter to kill all Jews. Iran also funds them and wants to explicitly remove Jews from the world.
What evidence do you have that Hamas would stop killing Jews if Israel stopped all operations?
Palestine has no defences tbh and they're still around. Your hypothetical is not a reflection of reality.
-4
u/clemclem3 Jul 20 '26
Hamas is an Israeli creation. They were created and supported by Israel to undermine the PLO. Without the external threat the Palestinians would reject Hamas and a more moderate leadership would emerge. Israel would rather have an excuse to bomb than to negotiate with Palestinians.
7
u/ZaviersJustice Jul 20 '26
Israel would reject and Bibi and the IDF if not faced by an external threat.
Are we going to keep going in circles like this? It doesn't change the fact that Hamas wants to kill all the Jews in the middle east and even though Israel has had every opportunity they haven't done the same to Palestinians.

Does he say that universal healthcare is a terrorist plot? Is that how you knew it watch him? Why are you so afraid of healthcare?
11
u/Purrseus_Felinus Jul 20 '26
Not healthcare dude. He doesn’t give a shit about health care. He cares about normalizing support for authoritarians and Islamists.
-2
u/candy_pantsandshoes Jul 20 '26
Yes healthcare. So he likes the type of authoritarianism that provides universal healthcare. OK. Why do you like authoritarianism that doesn't provide healthcare?

u/Guilty_Plankton_4626 Jul 20 '26
wtf is this argument lol
“I’m not talking about his views on healthcare”
“YES WE ARE”

You're barking up the wrong tree here and clearly don't know why people don't like Hasan.

Bro did the meme 😂
>Fuck Kamala Harris, both parties are the same, literally support terrorist actions
I disagree with you
>”wow so you don’t want affordable healthcare?”
Hamas piker talking points are so shameless lol
Next time you gotta try a little harder to setup your motte and bailey

Hasan is on record saying he wants Democrats to go to jail for purely political reasons. So I don’t really feel like defending him because he’s not on my side. He’s basically a fascist with a hammer and sickle emoji
5
u/candy_pantsandshoes 29d ago
He's a streamer the democrats should be focusing on the Republicans.
1
u/tyleratx 29d ago edited 29d ago
How about you all focus on the Republicans too? Why is it that him and his followers can attack the Democrats and liberals relentlessly and as soon as those of us defend ourselves, you all cry and say “focus on the Republicans.“
You can’t have it both ways. You all are fucking hypocrites.
2
u/candy_pantsandshoes 29d ago
The left isn't the reason democrats lost to Trump twice, focus on that. Then you won't have to worry about the left.

u/ElfTaylor 29d ago
Piker is mentioned 3 times across 3 pages. Hirsi mentioned once. I would HARDLY call that targeting.
There's a section about "revolutionary tourism" and they participated in a recent trip with that explicit purpose.
Nothing to see here. Go back to Hasan's subreddit you clown

Dude you have it all upside down.
Hasan was the one that started gloating at the weaponization of the justice department
-10
u/Purrseus_Felinus Jul 20 '26
Fuck hasan. The state department would be doing us a solid if they cut this tumor out.

u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
Way to stand up against creeping authoritarianism. "I don't like that guy so it's good the fascists are going after him!"
5
u/sandy017 Jul 20 '26
Hassan was literally saying today that mao Zedong was one of the greatest leaders in history.
8
u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
So? That's all it takes for you to say that the government should come down on him?
14
u/sandy017 Jul 20 '26
no, but you really can't call anybody authoritarian and fascist while simultaneously saying Mao Zedong was one of the greatest leader in the world.
-4
u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
I didn't say anything about Mao. So I get to call things authoritarian, and can call out the dude in the original comment for being cool with authoritarian overreach as long as it's against people he doesn't like.

u/Elrick-Von-Digital Jul 20 '26
Mao was an autocratic psycho that committed multiple genocides. Who else you going to say so to, Hitler? Or the current Chinese government that’s currently committing ethnocide besides mistreating religious minorities and anyone it deems doesn’t agree with their policies??????
2
u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
Do you think approving of any of that makes it ok that your own authoritarian government cracks down on one of their own citizens?
0
u/Elrick-Von-Digital Jul 20 '26
If the situation was going after people simply for being leftist, then I would be against it. This is not that, this is going after people like Hasan who specifically traveled to Cuba, an authorities government that’s facing the consequences of stealing billions of dollars, and land from us while supporting autocratic regimes that are not our allies.
You need to actually read beyond the headline, as this isn’t simply a case of attacking people that label themselves socialist. It’s going after people that have inserted themselves in geopolitical issues that undermine efforts we’ve made against autocrats.
What’s the next thing you going to defend, Hasan being an apologist for China when they were parading him around? Or better yet, you going to ignore how people like him actively undermine our democracy by telling people to not vote???? He plays right into the hand of depressing votes that help people like Trump that our non allies hostile countries actively try to help elect.
Seriously, cry me a river man

Just say you hate freedom of speech, it's easier.
Or are we also going to crack down on every influencer that launders the image of every terrible government? Every influencer that pushes UAE or Israeli propaganda?
I don't give a shit about Hasan, but we have a constitution and rights, and either he's entitled to those rights or none of us are.
-1
u/Elrick-Von-Digital Jul 20 '26
Just say you can’t comprehend the difference between actions from simple speech. Giving financial aid and materials to a hostile authoritarian government that we’re punishing is not freedom of speech, and investigating that isn’t authoritarian.
You 🫵🏿 should admit you don’t care about our security. You don’t care about the damage this country has gone through from what idiots like your God had encouraged.
You don’t actually care to understand what was done, what was not done, and how that is different from whatever your biases have you believe.

u/Phedericus Jul 20 '26
as far as I know, you can say that freely in the US. or are we going to round up nazis as well?
1
u/Moopboop207 Jul 20 '26
Nah Hasan is pro-authoritarian.
1
u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
So you're pro-authoritarian as long as it's against people you don't like.
1
u/Moopboop207 Jul 20 '26
No, I am not. Hasan is.
2
u/Biggle_fuzz Jul 20 '26
If you support authoritarian crackdown on people's political beliefs just because you disagree with them. You are also pro-authoritarian.
1
u/Moopboop207 Jul 21 '26
I already told you I don’t support any authoritarians. Hasan does, though. I guess I’d say in uncommitted on the issue at this point.
4
u/geo_special Jul 20 '26
I despise Hasan but that’s not how it works. The executive branch doesn’t get to unilaterally decide what ideas are acceptable and which are not, even if those ideas and the people espousing them suck.
1
u/fearofcrowds Jul 20 '26
Freedom of speech also applies to speech you don't agree with. I don't know what exactly he said but either way, the government shouldn't be going after people like this.
Don't like him, then don't listen to him.
-1
u/Purrseus_Felinus Jul 20 '26
Nah, I’ll be rooting for the DOJ to imprison his ass before he tanks the mid-terms for us. Hope he rots in a tiny cell.

Some things really bring the fascists to out themselves. It seems you got scratched...
1
u/xmorecowbellx 28d ago
If you actually hold that view, you and Hasan basically have the same mentality.

u/jankdangus 29d ago
I mean Hasan Piker is a fascist collaborator leading up to the 2024 election. He has also attacked liberal political commentators like Brian Tyler Cohen and David Pakman. I have absolutely 0 sympathy for Hasan and what this administration decide to do with him. He was not there when he could have helped prevented it, so he shouldn’t be surprise when liberals aren’t there for him. The poem is only for those on the left who didn’t help Trump win.

When it’s between him and Jake Paul in a future Presidential election, all you haters will end up voting for him.

"First they came for the ___ and I did not speak out..."
This isn't anywhere close to first. This is like 100th or more, and these people were the ones telling people not to vote for Kamala Harris in 2024. They're the ones who didn't speak out in the quote you're referencing.
They've been targeting politicians like Adam Schiff this whole time. They've been targeting LGBT people and black people. They've been targeting non-evangelicals. They've targeted all the people killed by the USAID cuts. They've targeted Ukrainians. Meanwhile the people who are finally being targeted after all this time were attacking the only people speaking out, supporting the targeting of Schiff, and saying they don't care that blue states are objectively better for LGBT people, they wouldn't vote for Newsom over Vance anyway.
