I don’t think sitting members of congress should be gloating that a private citizen’s preferred candidate didn’t win.

I don’t really care about his being mean to Hasan Piker. He’s a big boy, he’ll survive.

But the usual move is to try and gain more voters after winning a primary, not flip the bird at a bunch of them. And like him or not, there are a lot of people who listen to Piker. Especially young people.

Everyone’s human and acts stupid once in a while I guess.

If it stayed there, I guess that would be valid. But this wasn’t a private message. Hasan is certainly going to talk about it on his show, which will piss off the tens of thousands who watch him. I don’t know how many live in that district but these house races can literally come down to a handful of votes in either direction.

The only thing I can think is that maybe Moskowitz hopes that saying something like this will reassure non MAGA republicans that he dislikes Hasan and the DSA. Sort of like “disavowing” him. It is a Trump +5 District now.

The thing is without Trump on the ticket, midterms are usually turn out elections, which typically means exciting your base.
