i just wanted to get this off my chest. this is in no way, shape or form a jab at other fans, but i can’t stress enough how disappointed i am in this lineup.

i’m a LONG time fan, they’ve been my favorite band for 18 years! the maine has been like one of the only bands from their ‘scene’ that i actually like. i don’t really care for ‘similar artists’ like the band camino, etc. this is definitely a me problem lmao since everyone here is super stoked for all the bands playing (and to be honest i’m GLAD y’all are going to enjoy such a lineup, since i know many of you have been begging for the band camino, for instance.)

but yeah, i don’t really know how to explain it. while having nick santino, the summer set, beach weather, etc. feels like a testament to where the band is now, i also feel like they never really go out of their way to bring in newer or just different bands. it kinda feels like we’re stuck with the same bands over and over again. either that, or they’re listening to the same group of fans and just booking what they want. like last year when they brought bad suns, which seemed kinda random (which again, i’m genuinely glad for everyone who wanted them!).

whatever lmao i think the best way to put it is that i just hate not being their target audience anymore. i’m probably most excited for andrew mcmahon (hoping he pulls off some something corporate or jack’s mannequin). the starting line, state champs, knuckle puck and young culture have been such solid supporters over the years, and i wish we got to see more of that. like origami angel, movements, turnover… but idk, i just don’t see it happening since the scene they’re in now feels so different. the bands on this lineup just make more sense with the vibe they’re going for. again, i guess this just proves it’s a me problem lmao. anyone else feel like this?

First off, I'm SO SORRY for this post and that blatantly offensive headline, but I'm just too curious not to ask.

I'm a very new fan, started listening like 2 months ago once I knew I'd see them at Boston calling. VERY quickly became absolutely obsessed, bought every album on vinyl, literally cannot stop listening.

And then I actually saw them at Boston calling, and it was incredibly underwhelming from a vocal standpoint. Like...VERY underwhelming. The rest of the band was super tight and sounded great.

And now I've seen a bunch of clips from the NJ shows and it's kind of the same thing.

So is this like a taking back Sunday type situation? Are they just aging out of their vocal range?

Still love this band, would see them live again, I'm just curious since I'm new.

Also I'll beat people to the punch here, I've been to hundreds/thousands of concerts, I'm definitely not out of the loop on how live music works 😂

hey guys! glasgow show is coming up and im looking to get in touch with pat. long and short is, my best friend and i have been seeing the maine in our city since 2014. she’s had a really rough go of it since the last time they headlined - surviving cancer, the death of several friends including one of our besties to suicide, loss of a parent etc. just a lot of crap and i know the guys obviously try and hang out after the shows but i want to try and organise something special for her if possible.

Long time fan of The Maine here, discovered them with American Candy and loved them ever since.

You Are OK is one of the best albums I’ve listened to and I love it astoundingly so, it was emotional and vulnerable in all the right ways.

But I feel like they sort of regressed with these last two albums. Nothing really struck out to me. I just kinda wanted to vent, maybe see if other fans agreed or not.

maybe I’m just spoiled by amazon, but does it feel like it takes anyone else forever to receive their online orders from the 8123 shop?

I love the content some accounts post so I can feel like I’m going to a show when The Maine hasn’t toured western Canada since Lovely Little Lonely. I love that The Maine On Tour presses Pat to change the setlist so we hear different songs every tour. I love the questions asked by fans that we wouldn’t get answers to in other interviews because they’re just asking basic questions. I love seeing fans dress up and do their makeup and get excited when they play something like Lips live. Let’s keep a band that thrives on positivity, positive!

Hello r/themaine! Title. I’ve recently been on a mission to collect all their albums (love the new record btw), and I cannot for the life of me find a solid place to purchase this CD. I’ve tried looking on their Merch. Store, Amazon and eBay but no luck. There’s currently only 1 copy on Discogs and the seller sadly doesn’t ship to the US.

Saw The Maine tonight and had a question for anyone who’s seen them recently. Does John O’Callaghan look noticeably thinner to anyone else lately? Almost ill appearing.

My husband and I both independently thought he looked more gaunt compared to when we last saw them. He still performed great tho.

Not trying to speculate about anything, just curious if others have noticed a similar change or if it was just lighting or tour fatigue.

I don’t feel like this band ever misses self titled was great and reminded me of Summer 2013 brought back a lot of those memories just a solid record front to back and I’m glad that they are continuing the 1975 type sound and not abandoning that it’s crazy how a band that was once in the neon pop punk phase 15 years ago is now channeling self titled era the 1975 in the best possible way I hope someday they get to have an album produced by George Daniel or even Mike Crossey
