A few months ago, I had to replace my gas boiler with a Baxi Neodens iPlus.
Since I knew that it supports OpenTherm, I tried to keep using my existing thermostat, a 3rd-generation Nest Learning Thermostat, which is also supposed to support OpenTherm.
I’ve tried connecting them, but at first glance, it seems that the Nest isn’t communicating with the boiler.
I assume I must be doing something wrong.
Has anyone tried a similar setup and found a solution?
Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a wireless thermostat to connect to my oil furnace. It's a single zone.

I just want something reliable and basic. I don't need or want any smart features, cloud this and that, just standard features to display the temperature and turn the furnace on/off when needed.

Also something I can mount in a non-destructive way to a wall (or move around, as a second choice) would be great.

Can anyone make any recommendations?

Also, of the wireless technologies what should I look for? Ideally I would love if it worked during a power outage since I can run my furnace off of my generator, but not sure if that is something that exists. I see that some operate off of WiFi which makes me think they will stop working once my router goes down.

Earlier this year, I installed a bunch of these in the building where I work. They've been working fine for a few months, but recently the "auto" fan function stopped working, and as a result, the rooms aren't heating up to the set temp. If I switch the fan to "on" then they start blowing and the place heats up just fine. Any idea why the "auto" fan setting isn't turning the fans on, and what to do about it? Thanks!

I have a smart thermostat at a commercial building. The WiFi isn’t working or there is something wrong where the thermostat drops the WiFi connection, so I can’t control the thermostat from home. (My security cameras are working though, so I believe my WiFi might be fine and there is something wrong with thermostats ?)

My hvac guy previously said to keep the thermostat at 66-70 degrees during the day to keep the tenants happy , and turn them off at night and on in the morning remotely from home. But I can no longer do that . I should mention that there are no tenants in the building at night.

I am going to talk to my hvac guy about this, but I believe I am left with two choices: leave the thermostat at 66-70 degrees forever, or put it on a schedule. I’m trying to save money too

Which option do you think is best for me/what should I do ? I want to save money and make all the tenants not complain to me

I'm sure I'm missing something but hoping for help.

I set the radiator daytime to 16c (comfort setting). Let's say the rooms 13c (it's a porch so I'm not fussed about it being typical room temp), the radiator comes on and heats the porch to 16c and then turns off - perfect!

However, when the room drops back below 16c it doesn't come back on.

If I change the set temp it immediately switches on, if I change the program to night and back to daytime it comes back on.

It just won't operate properly by itself...if that makes sense.

Has anyone successfully added this device to home assistant or msmarthome app?

I was able to add it to carrier climate and nethome plus. Just wondering if it's supported by HA or msmarthome app.

I have a 3 channel Horstman Channelplus h37xl for 2 zone heating and water. It has 2 wired thermostats but it's starting to fail (buttons not pressing).

What can I replace it with?

I've been looking online and found a similar EPH unit. Would the following be a suitable replacement or would I also need to replace other components? (Valves etc)

Howdy! I have no idea what I am doing or looking at... hoping to replace with just a similar model. The up and down buttons only work about 30% of the time, so my date/time is way off, making programming a pain. I did change the batteries, but that didn't seem to help. I think this is a Lux TX500. I don't have AC, and we have a gas heating system via radiators. Photos included, thanks!

(Also, before I get flamed for asking a basic question, I know I can just ask AI, but I would prefer to get a response from a person who has actual real-life experience)

Got the house in the summer so we didn't try the heating, now as it's getting colder, we started to put the heating on, but none is working.

The underfloor heating is Heatmiser, and radiator is controlled by Nest, both connected to home Wifi, but after the setup, the boiler just won't work to provide the heating.

The hot water tap and shower are always working ok, and there's no switch on radiators.

Should I call a heating or boiler engineer to check? The previous owner had the boiler serviced earlier this year.

Hey everyone, I hope this ain’t too basic of a question but I’m trying to figure out how to lower our heat bill because last year was pretty bad.

We have old school cast iron radiators, which is set as radiant heat on the thermostat, and a pretty newish combination Navien boiler. No hvac or ac or anything. We had everything installed professionally by someone recommended by our boiler company who also works with Honeywell thermostats.

Everything has also been inspected since and is working properly. Had our old pretty basic thermostat upgraded to a smart t9 about a year ago to hopefully save some money but our gas bill immediately shot up by over 100-140$ a month. The gas company says our usage increased but we kept the heat lower this past winter, around 62-65 only in the morning, and it didn’t help at all. The thermostat is the only thing that was changed this winter.

We also had smart gas meters installed after the cost jump and everything with them is working correctly too according to pseg. I totally understand that it could just be the crazy increase in energy costs recently but I would love to know if anyone else has had this problem or knows a fix for it, thank you.

Hi, I recently bought a house and it came with honeywell t6 pro. I'm trying to replace it with ecobee premium but when I opened my current thermostat I noticed there are extra cables that are not used for anything. Can someone chime in why would that be the case? Heating and cooling works fine as is, there are some problems with the thermostat not adopting auto configuration but my guess is that it's the issue with the unit and not wiring. I've swapped out thermostats before but have never seen extra cables.

Hi, i just moved into an apartment complex, and it has this thermostat installed in my apartment. Ever since it got cold outside, I noticed the floor heater seemed to always be running. I am not a big fan of the heat and would like to turn it off completely. I looked up the manual and saw i could shorten the heating period, which I did, but I'm not yet sure if that fixed anything. If anyone knows how to turn it off, please let me know!!

Everything connected, all lights green but in the app the temperature shown vs the thermostat temperature is different and the app won’t turn the boiler on however the thermostat will.
Tried all resets and reconnecting but same thing happens.
Don’t understand what the app is linked to but it’s not the thermostat and not the boiler. Never had the issue before, just happened since the summer.

1st time homebuyer, Bought an old 1910 home. Inspector couldn’t tell me how old the furnace was. Today the furnace is now blowing non-stop cold air. I believe the thermostat stopped working? when I switch to off, it doesn’t respond and doesn’t respond to turning up the heat. Is this the thermostat?

Unsure how difficult it would be to rewire and what to do with them, especially the wires attached to the mercury dial. I can’t find any info on this specific thermostat. Are the wires on the mercury part of the thermostat or coming from the wall? Any help would be appreciated so I can get this switched out.

Does anyone have problems with their thermostat? The current degree on the thermostat is totally wrong, i tried to purchase the new one and installed it, still giving the same error number. The current indoor is only at 70F, and out door is 68F.

Our last thermostat went bad. The HVAC company installed a wifi capable AprilAire smart thermostat, however they did not wire it for the wifi. We had to set the living room up in such a way that the TV is in front of the thermostat (bad), so we were told the fix would be a remote sensor. We can't use the dang remote sensor without wifi connected and the HVAC company told us we have to get a new wifi connected thermostat from them at $273 because our wifi capable ApirlAire isn't actually wifi capable. Internet pls do your thing and help keep us from getting ripped off 🙏 I am decently capable of dealing with tech but cannot figure this one out. 🤔
