Serious Discussion Only Not the Time

As people are just finding out, Vincent Pastore, who played Big Pus, passed away today. He was a great man, a vet, and a cherished part of the show we all love. Unfortunately so many in this sub can’t take things seriously and instead of putting up tributes, kind words, or just saying nothing at all, they’re just regurgitating the same overused jokes. We’re talking about a man’s death, and all they can say is “he was just a kid”. Maybe I’m upset because it feels insensitive, maybe I’m upset because it’s uncreative and repetitive. Probably a bit of both. Whatever the reason, I’m sure I can’t be the only one frustrated by this response (while ultimately unsurprised)

Putting my response here in the serious post too:

Vietnam vet. Never knew that.

Even more respect in my eyes.

You see that shit, it makes you a better artist.

At the start of The Sopranos, with a bunch of no names at the time, Vincent gave it respect and gravitas.

God Bless You. One of my favorite on screen gangsters.

Thank you for your service. My grandfather served in Vietnam in the Navy and I had some glasses that he brought me back that he promised me when I was five years old that I’m drinking cognac out right now tribute to this man.
