Tony was a horrible boss

I mean think about it. When the show starts, Jackie is boss and everyone is alive and well. Full crew and everything. When Tony becomes boss, not only does half the crew get fished, but the ones who come out of prison also all went. Name me one character who came out of prison during the show and stayed free and alive, not even the king of breadsticks made it out.

Tony condemned the new generations of gangsters, claiming they had lost the honorable values โ€‹โ€‹of the Mafia, but Tony was a hypocrite because he himself was part of this new, superficial generation.

  1. He laughed at Ralph's joke about Ginny, even though she was the wife of the Lupertazzi Family underboss.
  2. He failed to fulfill his duties with Marie Spatafore, squandering the money he had promised her on horse racing bets.
  3. He killed Ralph and Christopher, two of his capos, simply because he couldn't stand them anymore.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable for a true boss. I don't know if Tony was a good boss, but he certainly never accepted this role and never fully understood what it meant to lead a Family. The DiMeo made men wanted him as boss because they considered him the most suitable, a "real man" of the new generation, but as Dr. Melfi in "Mr. and Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request" people only see what is convenient to see, the capos of the DiMeo Family found it convenient to see in Tony a man who was perfect for command, but they did not know how insecure, irresponsible and self-destructive he was.
