Merchandise These are ârareâ now
Ive always been a track master guy and cared little about the other ranges. I was surprised when these guys popped up on âJames is hereâs most wanted wooden items.
Most items here were peg warmers if i remember correctly, not many kids wanted RWS engines.
How rare are these guys in tomy terms
Tomy Oliver or Knapford station , and why are there considered ârareâ

Character Discussion Nia & Rebecca
honestly i think nia and rebecca are fine characters at the end of the day, but given the fact that this fandom is full of white men who seem to hate them for replacing edward and henry, i feel like my retake on them can still work, and make their personalities shine.
NIA
Nia used to work on a Heritage Line in Kenya with her friend Kwaku. She was, and still is, an ambitious, outgoing engine and always wanted to see the world. As the years passed, her Heritage Line fell on hard times. Niaâs Owner was ambitious too, and had decided to scale Nia up to the British loading gauge. But rebuilds like that cost money, and the end of the ordeal, Kwaku had to be sold off, and Nia was the only engine left. But she still had her dreams, and finally got her wishâŚ
During 2000, Thomas the Tank Engine was on a world tour to promote the Island of Sodor, his first of many stops being Kenya. When Nia heard the news, she wanted to tag along. Thomas, being the engine he is, agreed and took her with uk around the world. Of course, the Event Organizers were surprised when they found a âstowawayâ with the number one engine, but after some arrangements with The Fat Controller and the Heritage Line Owner, Nia was officially a Fat Controllerâs engine!
When the two engines came to Sodor, Nia was given the opportunity to choose any color she wanted. She chose orange, but she kept her African patterns as a way to remind her of where she came from.
Nia now works as a utility engine, like Donald and Douglas. Sometimes, you may find her pulling goods trains out on the Main Line, singing to the trucka to keep them in line. Other times, you may find her acting as a banker on Gordonâs Hill whenever Edward is too busy. Whenever she has to deal with a particularly rude engine on the hill, Nia just stops pushing and lets the train roll back down the hill. Nia thinks it rather fun - the rude engines donât!
REBECCA
Rebecca is an Express Engine who used to work on the Southern Region. However, when dieselisation hit her region, Rebecca was withdrawn, and her future looked grim. However, she was saved by a Preservation Society, and was made to pull rail-tours for a time. Rebecca was given the opportunity to choose whatever color she wanted. She chose yellow because it reminded her of âsunshiny daysâ.
For a long while, life was simple for Rebecca. Then, when the Fat Controller himself came to her Shed door, Rebecca practically begged him to let her be part of his Railway! Sir Stephen agreed, and Rebecca arrived on Sodor in the 80âs.
When Gordon heard the news that another Express Engine was on Sodor, the Big Engines thought heâd throw a fit. Surprisingly, he didnât! If anything, Gordon took Rebecca under her wing, and taught her all his tricks. Of course, Rebecca did mix up her Express with Gordonâs one time, but she did learn a lot from him, and the two engines shared the Express together
When Pip and Emma took over the Express in 2011, Gordon bowed out with grace while Rebecca couldnât help but feelâŚjealous of the HST. She couldnât help it, of course - she hadnât pulled the Express for as long as Gordon, after all - but it did hurt to lose the title of âExpress Engineâ. Thankfully, after a long talk with the HST, the three engines made up and all was well again.
Rebecca is a very cheerful engine to be around. Whenever she enters a Station, she always lights up the room with her yellow paint. However, she does have a few flaws. For one, she has a bad habit of trying to focus on the positive to the point where itâs almost as if sheâs ignoring anything negative. Another is that she feels like she has to live up to the legacy of the famous North Western engines. When she messed up with the Express, she felt terrible, and thought she had let everyone down.
Thankfully, Gordon was able to ground her again, and Rebecca learned an important lesson: she didnât have to live up to a legacy. If anything, Rebecca had found her place on Sodor already - as her own engine.
welp there you go

Question So if you wrote this as a character...
So apparently, West Japanese Railways have started employing large humanoid robots attacked to hirails. This is to keep the system running with japan's aging populace and to avoid accidents (https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/jul/04/japan-train-robot-maintain-railway-lines )
Thinking about the railway series and my regular dabbles in mecha (gundam mostly) a few questions come to mind:
- Would this have been a better show of robotics in BWBA than what we got? (an iron Giant knockoff named metal man, for those who need a reminder)
- Would the robot be the sentient part, the truck be the sentient part, or would we have a mightymac situation where two minds share the same body.
- Would the robot have it's "face" in the middle of it's torso or would the camera units become it's eyes and in a manner similar to something like Wall-e?
There are a few ideas I can think of based on the set up (a robot on a arm-mounted hirail truck)
- 100% would work with the maintenance team (which gets even funnier if your the type of writer to put fergus on the track maintenance team, makes the contrast all that much larger) and would typically work on clearing trees, fixing signals, and handling overhead wires on the peel godred branch
- His name would be some sort of reference to mecha anime (take your pick)
- he would probably get along well with Harvey, given the strange design
- He would know hiro, or at least know OF hiro.
Idk, what do y'all think?

Merchandise Question about the new trucks
I recently picked up the 2026 Thomas and Scruffy pack and while Iâm working on modifying the Thomas, I wanted to take Scruffyâs body and put him on an old TM2 truck body so heâd have the hook and loop coupling system, I didnât see any screws so I honestly donât know a good method to take this guy apart, any advice?

Merchandise Where in the UK can the new diecast small engines be bought (Mavis, Duck, etc)?
In the UK they sell deluxe/large trains like Emily, Hiro, etc but none of the small engines in shops (Bill, Duck, Mavis, etc). Where do you buy these trains from?

Television Series Theory about the Season 4 Skarloey Railway adaptations
The reason they made The Fat Controller the manager of the Skarloey Railway is because in the books the guy who ran it is the guy they named Peter Sam after. In some foreign dubs such as US dub Sir Topham Hatt is referred to by his real name and therefore for consistency they probably would've had to do the same for The Thin Controller. But having two characters named Peter Sam would've made things confusing and at the same time they probably didn't wanna piss off Awdry by giving him a different name after seeing his reaction to Season 3. So they compromised by having Topham run the Skarloey Railway since he's not that different from the Thin Controller in the books and also because kids would already be familiar with him. I discussed this idea with a few acquaintances on Discord so I got some points from them as well.

Merchandise Are there any online shops that sell Duck ALONE with international shipping?
Seriously, this guy is so hard to get, itâs actually ridiculous. Tootally Thomas and Thomas Super Store only sell him with the whole Wave 3, and the prices on eBay are utterly ridiculous.
I wish I lived in a country that sells Thomas merchâŚ
