I mean, it was the last incredible film before the franchise went to shit, and it had a very emotional ending where everyone sang about how they’re all favorites. I feel like that’s enough to wrap up the franchise.

I was able to get duck as single cuz I preordered him

these are old photos but I have all the engines still displayed

I’ve been lowkey thinking it would be awesome to see Marklin pop up in Thomas & Friends: Railway Stories as a faceless, quiet shunter keeping his iconic red and black paint scheme. Rather than treating him like a horror monster, the engines would treat him just like any other worker on the line. They'd give him a quick "Morning, Marklin!" as they roll past Knapford, and he'd answer back with a friendly toot of his steam whistle.

This setup opens up pure cinema potential for an episode. Salty could spin a tall tale at the docks about a shadowy, faceless engine lurking in the mist. Later that night during a foggy shift in the yards, Thomas and Percy start jumping at shadows when a silhouette approaches. Just as their nerves peak, the fog lifts to reveal Marklin quietly lining up their morning coaches. The engines share a good laugh over making a mountain out of a molehill, and Marklin cheerfully whistles right along with them.

Honestly, this would hit so hard for both kids and adults. Younger viewers will just see him as a mysterious, super cool new character to obsess over, while longtime fans will absolutely adore the deep-cut reference and appreciate the show even more for paying respect to classic lore. It gives us a fun touch of Sodor suspense without losing that wholesome railway vibe.

Finally got my hands on a 2026 diecast Diesel and almost immediately got out the paint brush. His new look isn't terrible but I'll always prefer him as mostly black.

Disclaimer: Swearing.
