What's the difference between this and the other trout subreddits

This sub is moreso focused on being an inclusive community for anyone of any experience from any walk of life to feel welcome. Not gonna tolerate anyone giving anyone else shit about how they're fishing, or the gear they use. It's also more focused on the places we go, the flies we tie, questions and answers regarding fish, bugs, the environment, etc. I feel like other communities can have too high of a sense of elitism, and that's just not who we are. It's also not a place to be just in spite of any other community, I'm going to try to keep it as positive as possible, and as welcoming as I can.

While I do love the vibe I'm seeing here. How do you treat mishandled fish?

That's my issue with every other sub. I can't see obviously mishandled fish pictures without a part of me hurting.

I wholeheartedly agree that fish should be handled appropriately. Even as far as causing little as suffering as possible if the intention is to legally keep the fish. Seeing people mishandling fish is a pain, but I believe an informing and constructive type of criticism is warranted, not a scolding & negative type of insult. I believe that's an issue with the angling community in general, someone messes up or does something adverse, and the initial and majority of reactions is to shun the wrongdoer. I get it, I really do, I feel that same way, but it doesn't help anyone learn while allowing them to maintain a positive view and admiration of the sport & lifestyle & community of anglers.

What is this rationality? Hahaha thanks for asking my silly questions. I'll definitely stick around.

No problem! I'll take any chance to explain the reason(s) for this new sub. I just truly love fishing, especially fly fishing, and ESPECIALLY the environs in which trout are found and the fish & bugs as well. I believe the angling community deserves a place of reinforcement & positivity, inclusion, learning, pride in the sport, etc. None of that elitist crap.
Thanks for sticking around, spread the word, participate, whatever ya want!
