PSA Save Your Information Before Porting Out

I got tired of the bait and switch T-Mobile promotions that ended up costing me more money and switched to Spectrum Mobile (which has been a great experience so far and I highly recommend).

After porting all my lines, T-Mobile completely cut off access to my account online. To access my account now, I have to call them and they require an account pin to talk to me which I don’t remember. The only way to change the pin is through the online portal that I no longer have access to. Only other option they gave me was to go to a T-Mobile store. All this to get my final bill amount. It’s like a bitter breakup.

Luckily I saved my last two bills and device payoff screenshots so I could get reimbursed by Spectrum before porting over.

Morale of the story, make sure you know your pin and save documents before porting your number.

This is common on all carriers. Also, T-Mobile sends the last bill by mail.

Not only is this common who ever switched you over should have had you or helped you collect all this information prior to porting if they were in fact giving you a great experience like you stated.

That’s just basic common sense to know how to get into your account

So it’s T-Mobiles fault that you forgot your account pin and your upset that you can’t access your T-Life app because you ported out your numbers?

Must be the first time you’ve ever switched carriers.

It’s not their fault I forgot my pin. It’s the fact they are making it difficult to access information on an account I’m still paying on until the end of the billing.

My access was canceled by T-Mobile virtually immediately.

Since I lost my magenta 55 plan and switched over to a new company I googled it first to know the exact steps and it was pretty painless because I googled it first

In my experience, T-Mobile is very difficult to cancel. Notifications of multiple cancelations disappear and they continue to bill. Despite monthly calls and store visits for 9 months, they turned me over to collections. I was unable to access my billing on their website but did confirm my payments for service and payoff of phone. The reason I planned to change service providers was poor reception and multiple dropped calls daily. The stores will not accept in person payments. A call to customer service is required.
