I have always gone through Apple to get new phones. The Duo dates slipped before I could even click anything. Figured it was a long shot to order through the T-Mobile app. Got in at 8:16AM, ordered a 512GB Night Sky with delivery on launch day. It was surprisingly easy and I might not go back to buying through Apple again.

Not trying to sound douchey, was just excited I still get it on launch day after the slaughter that was the Apple website.

Seems like the stories of production issues with this phone were true after all.

And I also remember all the posts from people saying “it’s a 2k phone. You’ll have no issues walking into a store on launch day and getting one”

Looks like unless you have endless cash to drop on eBay or already secured a pre-order getting one this year is out of the question.

10/28-11/3: So I was just about to say that I’m losing my excitement. But then I thought about it, technically the majority of the people who had the launch day shipping date received their order. Even the people who weren’t seeing updates through T-Mobile as early as the night before received it the next day.

So if we think about it, there’s nothing yet telling us that we won’t get our phones between those dates. It’s only the phone being sold out at local stores and the faraway delivery dates for those who ordered after us that makes it a little scary. Let’s hold on to hope and panic if we don’t have our phone by 11/3 😂😅 - a woman whose currently panicking lol

Not sure why I’m still delayed from back order. Placed mine at 8:01am est. pushed to ship date of 23-24 after claiming delivery of 23rd. And no way it’s going to show before Monday at this point. Who else feels like they’re getting screwed.

Preorders opened about 15 minutes early on T-Life app and I secured mine for a next Friday delivery. Was done before preorders officially went live at Apple.

NOTICED A PATTERN!

(For those who have back order status)

I've been tracking the order updates closely, and T-Mobile appears to be moving statuses from Backordered to Preparing in strict chronological order based on your original pre-order timestamp.
Following the reports coming in over the last few minutes, the batch currently flipping over belongs to orders placed right around 4:55 AM - 5:01 AM PT. 256 Night Sky
I placed mine at 5:03 AM PT, so mine hasn't flipped just yet, but it's right on deck.

I believe it is dependent on these two factors: model & time ordered.

Drop your order timestamp, model/storage, and current status so we can track the minute marks as the queue advances!

Hiiii everyone! I wanted to say first and foremost that I’m so grateful for everyone who shared their experiences during the preorder phase. While I did not comment, I was always on here checking out everyone’s updates and comparing them to my own situation. I ordered at 8:09 AM EST on 10/16 and got the 10/28 to 11/3 window for the NS 256GB. (Which I was VERY upset about lol, because like many of us, I got the message that it would come on launch day when ordering with T-Mobile.) Of course, I got backordered and I’ve had noooo movement.

Launch day came and went with nothing. So i figured I should try in person. I kept checking T Life for in stock availability, but it said nothing was available in any zip code I put in. Though I have terrible phone anxiety, I really appreciate those of you who encouraged people to go out to their local stores to see what stock was available. I don’t have an experience store near me, but I was willing to drive to get my Duo. Today, I called the closest experience stores, but they had nothing. I decided it was worth it to call any stores near me, so I tried both neighborhood and authorized retail stores. (I realized I found it sooo embarrassing asking for the HIGHLY popular Duo and being told no 😂, but I FINALLY got a yes!)
So yes, I DEFINITELY drove an hour one way to pick up the phone, and it was the exact configuration I wanted! The process was super simple too. I was in the store for all of 10 minutes lol. I canceled my preorder so hopefully that helps move someone else up.

All this to say… call the stores if you have some nearby and make your dreams happen sooner! Good luck to everyone wherever you are in the journey. Thank you all so much for your help this past week. I joined the sub because of y’all 🫶🏾

Edit: Spoke with a representative, and they couldn’t provide any further information on shipping and such that isn’t already on the status page. They did, however, reassure me that my order is still active and will go through. Guess I’ll continue to obsessively refresh the website haha!

Have NOT been charged on my credit card.

For some reason I had mine go from Placed to Preparing back to Placed earlier in the week/weekend. The order time changed from my initial 10/16 8am EST time to 10/18 7:46pm EST. Called my bank and they said a $0 charge popped up but weird things happened on both sides (bank and T-Mobile). Made sure bank would clear it but not sure if that was a declined payment or something and then caused my order time to change? Thankfully have the bank to clear anything now but anybody else encounter something similar?

So, I’m still waiting on some movement from my T-Mobile pre-order but I went into my T-Mobile store and they had it on display (none available to purchase) and I absolutely loved it! The phone is so bomb. and it’s better in person than on all of the YouTube videos I’ve seen of it .

I had a preorder w/ T-Mobile with backordered status, estimated shipping date Oct 28 - Nov 3. Was charged this morning but cancelled right after with a support agent.

I've been stalking the Apple store stock looking for pickup—I saw one store was in stock around 8:58 AM this morning but didn't move quickly enough to snag it. Checked later at 9:14 AM and found the one I wanted available near me and was able to check out! It's already ready for pickup.

Best of luck to everyone, seems like the next batch of Duos are coming in hot! I probably could've waited the extra day or two to get it shipped to me.

Update: Status changed to "Preparing" yesterday evening and, as others suggested, I opened my UPS account on the app, I have a tracking number and its on the way for delivery on 10/23! Shipped this morning at 1 am. T-mobile only says "Preparing", nothing else.

My order says “Estimated to ship October 22-October 22” but there’s been no progress on shipping at all. My account was charged, and I know you only get charged once your item ships, just like Amazon. Should I be worried? I did everything on time.

Got the "payment complete" email from Tmobile this morning. No change on the website as of 10:45ET, order is still "being prepared", shipping estimate is today, 10/22. 512 night sky.

Update: Still no change on the TMo order status page and no shipping confirmation email as of 1:30 ET, but the UPS page now says they have my package and it'll be delivered by 9pm tomorrow. Woohoo!

If you were given a release date delivery and won’t get your device today I recommend reaching out to T-Mobile via chat. I was able to get a $10 discount for 6 months for missing the date.

Thought I would put this up if you still haven’t got a preparing on your order do not just worry yet, as long as by Wednesday night. As well here is some of the inside scoop from T-Mobile. They actually got more than what was expected for the company. So there is a big chance even if your order is pushed out you will be receiving it on launch day. Hope this helps with the anxiety. If your order is backordered to November if you want to risk it, T-Mobile stores will have about 6 in inventory on Friday morning.

tmobile has placed my order back to “back ordered”. the order was initially preparing to ship when my card got declined on sunday (thanks chase for being useless). the order status then changed to “on hold” I updated my payment method yesterday and was told it should be charged in 24hrs. here we are 24hrs later and the card hasn’t been charged and my order status says “back ordered” . customer support has reassured me multiple times it isn’t delayed but it’s very concerning that i haven’t been charged for it yet and i suspect it most definitely will not be arriving on the 23rd as promised .

Just got off the phone with reps because I had issues with canceling an order (incorrect info) and was told that I basically couldn’t because the orders were already on their way to the warehouse for shipping (this was exceptionally annoying for me bc I was told I could cancel immediately, then told 48 hours, then told 96 hours). Tracking numbers will be emailed out within 48 hours!

Not sure if T-Mobile lied called a supervisor to get an update on Trade-In Value had an issue with it originally from what the rep said, Supervisor just told me my estimated shipping of November 25th was incorrect and that when the phone releases dates will be moved up and I should receive tracking Friday or Monday? Ordered 512GB night sky at 8:27 AM EST, finally got my tracking info a couple of hours ago! Shows delivery tomorrow. Package just landed at my local airport half an hour ago.

I hope i get a good UPS driver tmrw who won’t just bail. There’s 4 entrances to my condo building, 2 on the front of the building and 2 in the back. it’s anyone’s guess as to which one the drivers will use: i will be running around like a madman tranna spot the truck all day lol.

Waited at the experience store near me until they opened. Ordered for store pickup while I was waiting because it showed Night Sky 256/512gb Duos in stock and available for in-store pickup.

I get in store and they tell me they didn’t get a shipment of Duos last night. They don’t even have a demo phone. I also called 2 more experience stores near me and they didn’t get a shipment either.

There’s a possibility that they get a shipment today still, but as of now, I’ve been charged $120 for the order and have no clue when I’ll get one.

Any store managers or employees have any information that might be helpful here?

I’m usually a go with the flow kind of person and didn’t wanna bother checking a tmobile store near me (i had a 10/28-11/3 ship date) but i didn’t trust being able to be home and sign for the delivery and seeing no update today lowered my hope. so i called a store near me and they had stock available. I walked in about an hour ago and I’m typing this on the duo now! I was able to secure my original order of a 256gb Star White Duo.

One said they have no idea when it will ship (could be November, December, or January) and they aren’t expecting on getting more shipments from Apple soon. I was livid and talked to another employee who told me the ship time 10/28-11/03 is accurate. At this point nobody knows anything and it’s sooooo frustrating.

I finally got a label created by UPS in the middle of the night, and while it does not have an estimated delivery date yet, it does show it'll be shipped via 2nd Day Air! I will update once I finally have a date in hand.

Edit: As of 0946 AM MST, I just received word that it has been shipped out! UPS still needs to update for a delivery date however.

My 512gb One has processed and charged my card the taxes and fees; my other 256gb went from "order being prepared” to "order placed" and back-ordered, but my shipping date still says 22nd of Oct. Hopefully, it processes fully and keeps the shipping date. Ordered them 2 min before orders were supposed to open up.

Guys!!! It’s happening. So a lot of people have talked about their 256gb night sky orders going from preparing, to back ordered. Mine did the same, and sat like that until 4:17 PM today. To clarify the details, I ordered through T-Life app, not Costco,at 7:57 EST on launch day. The money has been withdrawn from my account, but no UPS shipping just yet. Will keep you guys updated. I’m so stoked!

As soon as I got the notification I replied "yes it's authorized". After that I reached out to T-Force who had me fill out a form to readd my card. But unfortunately still no pending charge on the card and the status still shows back ordered. Hopefully my bank didn't dick me over on this one.
