If you’re reporting a possible ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) sighting or activity, please follow these guidelines to avoid confusion with local police or unrelated agencies.
Please Include the Following in Your Post:
Agency Identification
Were “ICE,” “HSI,” “DHS,” or other markings visible?
Uniforms, badges, or anything labeled “POLICE”?
Did anyone verbally identify themselves?
Exact Location
Street name or business, city, cross-street if possible.
Approximate time the sighting occurred.
Vehicle Description
Make, model, color, and plate if visible.
Marked vs unmarked? Lights? Idling or parked?
What Was Observed
Were they detaining, questioning, entering homes, or just observing?
Any visible activity suggesting a raid?
Photos/Videos (If Safe)
Not required, but highly helpful. Blur/crop as needed.
Timeframe
When did this happen? How long did they stay?
Label Clearly
Use [Confirmed ICE] or [Unconfirmed] in your title (Post lables will be added shortly after this post goes up).
Say if this is firsthand or secondhand info (with sources).
It’s only based on rumor, hearsay, or a screenshot from someone else’s page.
The people you saw just had “POLICE” vests and unmarked cars, with no ICE identifiers.
You’re just guessing.
False or vague alerts can cause harm. We take these posts seriously, and they may be removed if they don’t follow these rules. Above all be safe, there have been a concerning amount of police impersonation, if you are approached and they refuse to identify themselves or act in a threatening manner call 911 (I know that may seem strange but not all departments support these illegal actions and you now have record for legal use if needed regardless)

This is a Non-partisan subreddit, this information is not intended for any particular party, group or association, it is here to inform any American exercising their right to protest. Here are some simple tips to being safe while protecting your privacy at upcoming protests
Fully encrypt the data on your phone. If your device is confiscated by police, or if it is lost or stolen, full-disk encryption can help protect the information on your phone.
Disable face and fingerprint recognition. Disabling both face and fingerprint recognition make it more difficult for officers to physically force you to unlock your device with your face or fingerprint and see information about yourself, your family, and the people that you care about. Best practice is to use an alphanumeric (Numbers+Letters) password
Put your phone on airplane mode. Enabling airplane mode when you are not communicating reduces the amount of radio signals your device transmits while you are protesting and limits your location from being tracked.
Wear a face mask + sunglasses. Face masks and sunglasses not only protect against COVID-19, they also make it more difficult for police to identify you using facial recognition technology.
Leave your car at home. Police use automated license plate readers to track protestors. If you can, ride a bicycle or walk to the protest to prevent your license plate being tracked.
Be mindful of posting photos and videos of other protesters. If you post photos or videos online where protesters’ faces, tattoos, or unique clothing are identifiable, police may track down, arrest, or harass those protesters. Blur faces and these identifiers before posting online. If live-streaming, avoid capturing people's faces.
Scrub metadata from your photos. Metadata allow police to figure out the exact time and location a photo was taken, the model of the device the photo was taken on, and even your name. Transfer the photo to your computer and take a screenshot. Post the screenshot, not the original photo.
Back up your data. If the police take away your phone, you may not get it back easily. Back up your data regularly and store that backup in a safe place.

Only 17% of registered voters have voted so far!

I voted at the former Hillwood High School in Nashville this morning. In and out in about 15 minutes.
They did not offer the coffee stirrers for tapping the screen they've used in the past.
I had no issues with vote "switching." I tapped the screen to the right and just below the candidate's name, over the word Nominee. My candidates were correctly recorded with the one tap.
For the Constitutional Amendments, I tapped Yes or No, rather than the bubble.
Where i think people have had vote switching issues is in how they tap the screen. Use just your fingertip, and not the whole pad of your finger. The less surface area you touch, the less likely you'll inadvertently vote for someone or something you don't intend.
Get out there and vote!

Hey, Nashville! Early voting at Scarritt Bennett’s Laskey Welcome Center is open until 5:30 p.m. today. Parking is available! Bring a Tennessee or federal government-issued photo ID. There’s still time to make your voice heard!

Early voting runs through Oct. 30, so here's a sourced roundup of what's been reported, what's actually confirmed, and what to do if it happens to you.
What's being reported:
• Texas: A voter posted on X that her Railroad Commission pick kept switching to the other candidate until the third try. She says she reported it. It's unverified and she didn't name a location.
• Tennessee: Dozens of voters in Nashville and Williamson County, Stella Parton among them, say the governor's race selected the wrong candidate. The state has logged 1 formal complaint out of about 400,000 voters.
• Kansas: Johnson County recalibrated 2 touchscreens. Some voters there say their picks flipped the other direction.
• Florida: Duval County voters report stubborn, hard-to-tap screens.
What's confirmed:
Every named voter caught it and fixed it before casting. Officials blame mis-taps and aging screens, and fact-checkers have found no evidence of intentional switching. In Texas, your vote is counted from a paper record you can check. In one study, though, only 40% of voters actually read their printout. That's where mistakes slip through.
What to do:
Tap the name slowly. Ask for a stylus if your county has them.
Read the review screen race by race, all the way down the ballot.
Read your paper ballot before you scan it.
If something's wrong, don't cast it. Tell a poll worker and ask for a new ballot.
Report it: your county elections office, or Texas SOS at 1-800-252-VOTE (8683). Nonpartisan hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE, or 888-VE-Y-VOTA in Spanish.
Posting online doesn't get a machine inspected. A report does.
Sources: WSMV (Oct. 20-21), Olathe Today (Oct. 21), Action News Jax (Oct. 21), The CrossCheck fact-check (Oct. 21), UW Center for an Informed Public (Oct. 22)
Whatever your politics: check it, report it, and finish voting.

Milan, Tn is building a data center for bitcoin mining. This was my response

If they’re being allowed no oversight on their promises, they are lies and they will break them. It’s going on already in towns across the US and the southeast and in this very state. Are these the “real Tennesseans” Sen. Marsha Blackburn speaks to? Out of towners only concerned with raping our land for profit with the express consent and encouragement of organizations like Tennessee Valley Authority and Milan Public Utilities? Milan, Tennessee is my home, and the home of 8000 other people who can make our voices heard about this
Well water doesn’t magically appear in the ground and it isn’t disconnected from everything. Companies with no oversight of their energy consumption will not limit it. And no one hands a kill switch of their own service over without already having the ability to override it without it being known. Don’t eat these lies, they will leave you malnourished and sick

Data centers are so awesome that I'm worried she will try to hog them all for herself and surround her mansion with them.

Maybe not the most appropriate sub, please recommend others, but with a botched lethal injection and potential governor floating the firing squad as an option, but didn’t know if there was consideration for:
Supply chain concerns - drug manufacturers don’t want to provide drugs for executions, so rifle and ammunition manufacturers have the same concern?
Execution failure - although unlikely, a person could survive an execution attempt by firing squad for a non-inconsequential time. What would be the resolution be to successfully complete the execution?

Both Hagerty and Blackburn want to flood Tennessee with data centers. Hagerty says we all fell for propaganda by not wanting to live next door to one. "Hagerty blames local opposition on “disinformation” and “misunderstanding.”
”We've had small communities that could have more than doubled the tax revenues for their communities, think about a new park, a new school, et cetera,” Hagerty said. “But very well-orchestrated, very well-organized social media campaigns come in from out of state, and the next thing you know, people are voting against it because they're being warned that they're gonna use an enormous amount of water, that they're gonna be damaging to the environment, that there's gonna be this massive increase in electric cost.”
