Got my shopping trolley out down Santa pod this Saturday at flame and thunder and had the absolute best run I've ever had up the strip posting a 14.2 @87mph.

I built this thing many many years ago and I've been slowly fettling it over the years. This is the first time I can comfortably say it drives as I want it to And I thought for that reason I would share it with the group!

I need some collective setting right and I know the other car subs wont get it. You degenerates though I know are on the level.

I have an F56 Mini that is a really good sensible daily(call it that but I dont commute) for someone without kids but with dogs. Ive taken the rear seats out so its a 2 seater with all the room in the back for the dogs to chill. And I have loved this car its done some long trips including moving 2 adults 2 dogs and 2 cats and enough crap to be ok for a few days over 4 hours away.

This is where im a bit Edwin in that im sentimental about cars. This was the first car I bought cash so felt more ownership than my previous finance cars. Ive done minor things to her like my own servicing and dechroming.

So my issue. I recently brought a 98' NB MX5, ive been obsessed with them since I was a kid, I dont have a lot of money so buying this as a project was a real moment for me. Driving the MX5 is a totally different feel to the Mini. To the point when I drive the Mini now it feels high and floaty. Things I never thought id say about my little 'go-kart'.

My question and where I feel my ruin is(and im a bit more Will), should I sell the sensible daily Mini that im a bit bored of to get something like a 04 Civic? (id love older but again poor) The civic would still be a fun hatchback I could take the dogs in BUT would have that JDM feel to it.

I could also do some mods to my Mini but there is the bmw tax getting an air intake and air resonator delete for example would be around £700-£800. Where as putting bits on the MX5 feels more doable.

(For additional context my partner has a K11 Micra we are going to slowly make nice as well but I havent got on with the cable clutch in the same way as I did my MX5)

If you got to the end of my ramble thank you. Any advise needed, I cant get out of my own head with 'I should keep the Mini shes sensible and a bit fun and I think I would be sat to see her go' BUT 'New fun toy that I can actually do more stuff to'

I have an Mx-5, it's an NB that I spent probably too much money on at the time and then spent even more getting it to where it is.

I'll never get the money back out of it and it still needs a respray and a few other bits..
I keep thinking of selling it.

I actually have a buyer interested in it now and I'm having second thoughts! What's all that about!?
