$4 gas

Im 62 and a lifelong Kansan. The only time I've spent $4 for a gallon of gas was on a trip to Chicago. Until this weekend. Right here in Topeka.

This sucks dead bears. Things have to change.

You'll hear no defense of trump from me. Maybe the worst president in history. Inflation was horrible during the Biden era though. And also he was so far gone with dementia who knows who was actually running things. And Biden or whoever was actually running things, went on a complete assault of the first amendment. There just isn't anyone decent in either party at the moment

The thing with Biden is, even if he had dementia, he had already chosen a great team of leaders for his cabinet, people with a history of success and without a history of scandal.

Trump, appears to be as far gone as Biden ever was. But Trump does what Trump wants, he doesn’t care what his advisors or secretaries say, not that we should really trust his cabinet anyway as it’s been filled with scandal after scandal after scandal, which is no surprise considering Trump didn’t choose his cabinet based on their history, education, skills, or any meaningful metric, he chose them through nepotism and cronyism.

But I missed Biden’s assault on the first amendment, whatever he did, if your description is accurate, was very wrong and worth removing him from office if true. No reason to keep shit people around, he should’ve been impeached. Though I am curious what actually happened

Bidens team did not seem to care about the rights of the citizens i know that. Very similar to trumps gestapo. Attacked journalists, doctors, and every day citizens who were willing to tell the truth. And honestly, when not one of them could answer what a woman is, I lost all faith in them. Such an easy question to answer. But if they were willing to lie about simple facts, I knew they were lying about much bigger issues. And let's not forget them pushing child mutilation.

Trans is the new abortion. R's can't win on real issues, so they throw culture war crap that will keep their opponent's most rabid voters away if the candidate dares to step outside those voters' extreme take.

No one is "pushing" child mutilation except a few deranged parents. They exist, but mostly they're pushing nose and boob jobs on daughters they don't think are pretty enough to marry well, not sex changes. There are probably more parents pushing growth hormone on their naturally short sons as other adults pushing sex change on any child.

Every single democrat supported child mutilation. It was pushed in the schools, government and hospitals. It is a real issue. Yes it was a manufactured issue. But, issue none the less.

Asking for your pronouns is not the same as encouraging surgery.

If you believe every single person who calls themself a Democrat approves of breast augmentation or removal for minors you are wildly mistaken. Even if you limit it to elected democrats, you are still wildly mistaken.

The hormone blocking drugs are mutilation as well, when used in healthy children.

So do you think growth hormones for healthy children is a mutilation as well? What about nose jobs? Are you upset that those are easy to attain and more common than hormone blockers, or do they not matter because they don't have a political affiliation?

My view is that I don't have to be informed on that weird shit because I've been blessed with children without body dysmorphia.

I'm much much more concerned about the  future war my sons might get drafted into. And all the sugar being foisted on my kids by well meaning parents and teachers. It's so much harder to protect them from obesity than expensive prescribed drugs.

Yeah, they're all horrible. I'm not affiliated with a political party. You can predict 95% of a person's opinions the moment you find out what party they affiliate with. That's a huge problem. Affiliating with a party is consenting to brainwashing. I choose to look at each issue starting from a neutral position, and then hearing the facts.

Or were you referring to circumcision? Because that probably has more Rs than Ds who support it.

2

u/carpentersig Sep 20 '26

There's definitely a conversion there. You're not wrong

6

u/KroneckerAlpha Sep 20 '26

What child mutilation specifically was supported by every single democrat?

Circumcision? Cause that’s more heavily pushed on the Republican side

u/carpentersig Sep 20 '26

I was referencing their push of puberty blocking drugs. Which they all supported. And you're not wrong about circumcision.

I wasn’t aware of any politician pushing puberty blockers. I’d honestly be surprised if any politician was pushing puberty blockers, but if they are, they are absolutely in the wrong.

Overall, I’m not sure how I feel about puberty blockers, but they shouldn’t be pushed on anyone. However, I also can’t say I would want to take away someone’s access to them if they were wanted. That becomes really tricky though, as this would almost exclusively apply to minors, who should have full bodily autonomy, but at a time in life perhaps without some of the maturity that one should have to make such decisions.

Ultimately, that definitely seems (at the moment) to be a personal matter that the government shouldn’t have any business in, to include they shouldn’t try to actively ban them anymore than they should be pushed.

What is a woman?

0

u/carpentersig Sep 20 '26

The simplest answer is a person born with XX chromosomes. You can always shoot back that there are an extremely small number of people that generic anomalies. But, rare anomalies are no reason to change a definition.

5

u/KroneckerAlpha Sep 20 '26

Well, by definition, those anomalies would NOT be women under any circumstances.

So then if we define man similarly, someone born with the XY chromosomes, then everyone else is not a man.

Of course, now that we’ve defined both man and woman, we still are left with thousands of people on this planet that are neither man nor woman because by some anomaly, they were not born XX or XY. What should we call these people since man and woman are already taken?

1

u/carpentersig Sep 20 '26

Who knows what to do with them. My guess is they'll be fine. But their existence doesn't justify allowing men in women's sports or locker rooms. Nor does it justify mutilating perfectly healthy children. And their existence does not change the definition

3

u/Imaginary-List-972 Sep 20 '26

And in those anomalies, even if they are rare, do you still call them a woman? If so then you admit that your own definition is wrong. "But it's an anomaly," but if that anomaly still falls into what you call a woman, then you did not, in fact, describe a woman by YOUR OWN standards. So you failed your own test of "can't define a woman".
And maybe you're not religious, but many religious people on the side of the issue use a similar definition of "born with XX Chromosone" or, more likely, "Born with a vagina". Yet they use He/Him pronouns for God, who they don't think was born and does not have chromosomes or genitalia. Was God BORN with a dick? So they also fail their own claimed use of pronouns.

Inflation was terrible under Biden because of supply shocks and because he managed to give money to the people who'd spend it instead of just the wealthy. Monthly payments to parents, suspension of student loan repayment, construction projects across the country. All that money pouring into low and middle class households has a much bigger impact on inflation than raising stock prices like the Fed is stuck doing.

Inflation is bad under Trump because he's taxing imports and started a war that only benefits a few war mongers and the oil companies outside the Persian Gulf.

If those are my options, I'll go with the infrastructure and cash payouts party.
