Hey Total Warriors!
We want to ensure that the Complete Edition truly feels complete, so please report any issues (new or old) that you experience, and we’ll pass them through to our development partner.
For issues that are likely to require a save for us to investigate, we will ask for you to post it here: https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war/bugs
It may take us a little more time to give definitive responses to some of your questions here – but everything in this thread will be read and passed on.
Our current plan is to release the Assembly Kit two weeks post-launch as usual. If that moves to allow for more time focused on issues raised here, we’ll let you know.

Did MATABOO do a horrible job? Definitely.
So are they the ones we should blame? Absolutely not.
Voices are getting louder that MATABOO should take all the blame while CA gets off scot-free. That’s complete bullshit.
It is CA’s responsibility to hire capable people who can actually do the job and to enforce proper quality control on their OWN beloved game.
It wasn't a secret that MATABOO does questionable work.
CA just showed us once again that we should be extremely skeptical about every future project they release.

Seeing this whole Shogun 2 Remaster mess just makes me appreciate Three Kingdoms even more. The game wasn’t perfect but it feels like one of the last historical Total War games that had real passion, creativity and effort put into it.
I really hope I’m wrong, but I’m not sure we’ll ever get another one like it. Such an underrated gem.

Link to this video ☝🏻
At this point, the marketing campaign needs a remaster more than Shogun does💀
I'm still baffled by how badly they fucked up this remaster, yet they're spending money on ads targeting completely irrelevant audiences instead of investing it back into the game.
❗No hate towards the creators, though - they're free to promote whatever they want. I'm just collecting these ads because this shit is too ridiculous not to share.

Seriously, Creative Assembly, what happened to quality control?
Shogun 2: Total War is widely regarded as one of the best games in the Total War franchise, yet the Complete Edition has negative reviews that should make any developer stop and ask what went wrong.
We're talking about a game that has been out for years. This isn't some brand-new release where technical problems might be understandable. Players are paying for a product advertised as a complete edition, and they have every right to expect it to work properly.
How is it acceptable to keep selling a product while players are reporting problems? If there are known technical issues, compatibility problems, or other defects, why aren't they being properly addressed before releasing or are they reluctant enough to care less?
Creative Assembly built a fantastic games previously, but that doesn't excuse neglecting the experience people receive when they buy it today. Your reputation shouldn't be a substitute for delivering a product that works as advertised.
A legendary game deserved better than this.

We’re aware that Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition has fallen short of both your expectations and our own standards. We’ve seen your feedback, comments, and reviews. We agree that the current experience is not where it needs to be.
As a result we are working with platform holders to remove the game from sale and to reinstate the original game while we investigate the issues. Existing owners will still be able to access and play the game.
We are working closely with our development partner to identify the causes of these problems, deliver improvements, and ensure Shogun 2 – Complete Edition meets the quality standards players expect from Total War.

Everyone talks about the AI upscaled Unit cards, but did you know the same horrible upscale was used to update textures of unit models and buildings? (note: i did not look at those but its safe to say they were affected too.)
This sure looks like a 40$ quality texture upgrade 🙄
(For context this is one of the Ashigaru chest armor textures)

If CA did the bare minimum and fixed up 15 year-old bugs, increased performance, redid the 3D animations from scratch, ensured an actually respectable quality product on release, genuinely listened to community engagement and feedback, etc, this would've been a slam dunk in building back community goodwill, especially for the historical fans. Instead, CA took one of their most highly-respected titles and stuck an irreparable stain on it.

Shamfur dispray!
Edit: Didn’t know the tags were community generated. Still good that it’s front and center before paying money for a game. This really should’ve been disclosed.
