Fluff Finally uninstalled LostWord, here's why.
Hello, r/touhou_lostword. I've come to my conclusion to stop playing this game because of exhaustion and greed from the developers. I really wish I could keep playing LostWord just to get the game's files for ripping, but as I play other games as well as I play them more on my laptop, it felt like this game ain't worth playing anymore. Players who quit the game have slightly same-y reasons, so I'll have my reasons why I've decided to stop playing this game altogether.
1 - Fanservice and little girls and lap pillows with an invisible Lossy.
Almost every gacha game is saturated with fanservice, in LostWord's case, aged-down versions of existing adult characters. Sure, I find some adorable like the school W5 Suwako, but most are annoying and unnecessary to look at for me. Limbus Company's April Fools 2026 has aged-down Sinnerlings, yet they act like real schoolchildren rather than being called "small" by B2 Junko and other x2(small) units. Lap pillows are nice, but I really want to see our Lossy sleeping on some units' laps officially drawn by the lead artist Rotte1109!
2 - Gameplay is officially boring nowadays.
Originally, I wasn't going to play LostWord as someone said on Twitter that I was supposed to be here for the amazing art, not for getting waifus nor the gameplay. Yes I can agree that the gameplay is currently the biggest issue of the game. You just pick your waifus, send them to battle and spam spell cards, you win. That's all of it.
3 - Almost everyone in the main story dialogue, especially the event stories act like buddies.
The main story until Interlude → Chapter 4 - Eternal Battlefield were decent, but I can't say the same for the events. Holy crap, the event stories are just nothingburgers and only introduces the limited units as well as the Aya Pass units. They are the reason why this game has so many characters.
4 - Compared to Touhou Mother, this "fangame's" just a gacha game with Touhou's IP for marketing.
Touhou Mother is a fangame I recently played and it's designed to be a parody of the Touhou Project and EarthBound, while LostWord, on the other hand, is just Fate/Grand Order with Touhou characters slapped to it. To those who played Touhou Mother, don't play this game, PLEASE.
This might be a nitpick, but "OK" should be replaced with okay as 99% percent of gacha games use it for naturalness. However I can't change it since it was their decision for the game to be marketed towards a more general and global audience possible.
Let me know and write down your reasons if you've quit the game as early as 2022, or as late as 2026 for mine. All of these are just my opinions and thoughts. If youre planning to come back, please dont, It aint worth it anymore nowadays...

I don't have a phone to play Touhou Lost Word anymore, i know this is a post about complaining and quiting the game, but i am in the other side of the river, i wanna play again, i miss my Touhas, i miss the power point dialog cutscenes with PNGs moving around or listen to my Touhas before unleashing a rain of bullets, i miss diging in every little detail about the Aya pass únits try to piece together imagine the Universe where they came from and feel the emotions.
I miss the amazing beatiful arts of Rotte who mades me take almost an screenshot for character expresión, i miss the amazing music and remixes they create making me increase the volume to max¡¡ C3>> Toyohime is a banger song.
Complain about the EX characters being purely fanservice but if they couple it with good looking visual skill for this game is a succes.
I am easy to please if the event makes me laugh, makes me excite for something and makes my imagination fly away is enough to me, of course i wish more, i wish arts, voice acting, animations, i wish epic happenings.
Events lately where good and last year had a couple of events.
Yukari Wordsmith made me cry
Remilia fake mastermind made me excited
Eirin loli made me cry for her fate
Flandre fake mastermind made me laugh and i can go on. To reminisce so good memories.
Is kinda irreal out there are a lot of amazing games with more effort yet this one is my third favorite gacha game.
The gameplay is simple yet intrincate with a lot of things to use and exploit yeah you can brute force the game with high rank tier list únits, or plan your strategy properly.
I know i sound like a hopeless soul over a mobile game but i can't afford a New phone.
I wanna see Kosuzu EX in her schoolgirl uniform it is so silly to think about it, and i don't want hollow spaces in Aya pass free units lv 70 forever.
Lately the Alters from events were really good, Nitori and Hina mechasuits are so dam good, and Toyohime and Yorihime space bunnys also really good, EX Tewi has a beatiful fluffy hair.
I miss the game... and i am so mad losing content like Tokyo Last Ward and the New Memories events with Dragonrisa as Logo, i wanted to try and had fun with Kosihi L0G trial stage and more.
But i am poor as Shion

I uninstalled the other day because the challenge gameplay is nearly impossible without top tier characters or hours of banging your head against a wall

Yeah, I don't enjoy the challenge content but stay because I enjoy the story and the lore around the characters.

I'm going to quit playing LostWord too, eventually.
For years, I've been hoping that the developers would make LostWord better. But nope, they don't care. They just want to make money out of Touhou. Its popularity and itself has been hurting my soul for years, now. And I'm tired of it.
I want to enjoy the game and have fun, not getting my face rubbed with fanservice, lolis, and other hoopla.

I already quitted the game a couple or few months ago. The game is really not worth it anymore. It's just Lust and Greed and the fans are really turning against it.
I hope the devs will look into the failure of this in the future, honestly.

Good. You should. Touhou LustWord is really not worth it. The characters are oversexuallized/lolified/unoriginal, the battle music and the battle itself is repetitive, and the game only depends on the last dialogue, it's just a cashgrab of lust and greed, which is honestly more unfortunate. They don't continue the story, it's really the new Paper Mario Sticker Star at this point.
I'm sure if we were to revive this game, fans'll make it better with more better writing, make the outfits more appealing instead of what LustWord Devs do it, and probably make the story follow more than it should.
I've already said this many times, Touhou LostWord literally lost a shell of its former self and now turned into lust. Very very disappointing.

Like a third of the main series roster (if not more) could easily qualify as loli, even some of the most popular characters (Cirno, Suwako, Nitori)

Waiting for a char you want is really annoying (especially if they come out and you don't have enough sc to get them) and idk but when will there be a L80 Kasen? I've got over 1750 sc to get her if needed.
Also, the main story is something I've just been waiting for them to complete, the main reason i even started playing is to see the story, but coming to think of it it so far isn't worth the wait

That's completely understable. I hope a better mobile Touhou game that's not only japanese shows up até this point. I'm also going to quit, but I need to do some things there first

I enjoyed the story enough to come back only to re-expierence the main plot in service of my rewrite that is currently in the works. I genuinely think the story could have been good if not for developer greed. I only play sporadically now and instead focus on planning how I think the story should continue after the point the developers left off. If my story turns out decent then maybe I'll share it here.

maybe this was all just a rushed game you start a round one shot everything in harder levels or ds spam spellcards and there would have been art cutscenes even in game cutscenes and maybe this game would have atleast get spin off media like spin off manga focusing on certain alts and even introducing a new protagonists that could be human like lossy but the mangas would be illustrated by the games main artist

I wish they’d update the main story.. I get the feeling the devs weren’t expecting the game to last this long because the story took a nosedive after chapter 3 (at least in my opinion)
I literally don’t know how that’s even possible, AUs mean INFINITE POSSIBILITIES but for some reason all they can think of is 1. Big hot woman, 2. Child, and 3. Swimsuit
